DualSense Edge, the official pro-level pad from PlayStation, has become one of the top trending videos on YouTube – attracting almost one million views in less than 24 hours. The controller, which was rumoured earlier in the year before being announced during Gamescom Opening Night Live, was easily the biggest announcement of the livestream in terms of impact.
Only the reveal of Lightfall, the new expansion for Destiny 2, is trending above the DualSense Edge in terms of video game trailers – an impressive 24-hours for Sony, considering it now owns the first-person shooter’s developer, Bungie. The platform holder will be hoping this surge in interest translates to sales, as there’s big money to be made here.
While there has been demand for a pro PlayStation controller for some time, the Japanese giant has generally allowed third-party manufacturers like Nacon to occupy that field. This is the first time it’s brought the product in-house, creating a peripheral with interchangeable analogue stick modules and a completely remappable interface.
How much are you willing to pay for the DualSense Edge, though? Be sure to participate in our poll, and let us know your thoughts.

Imagine how many they could've sold if orders went live on the night.
They shoud've cashed in on the buzz.
How much would I pay? That’s HIGHLY dependent on what value and capabilities it offers above and beyond the standard controller, but the short answer is likely only $20 - $30 more.
Find you a girl that loves you as much as PushSquare loves the phrase Japanese giant
Pro means also a better battery inside?
I’m willing to pay less than whatever they ask!
I will likely buy this, not because of the fact it is so highly customisable, but the idea of being able to replace Analogue sticks is appealing. Instead of losing entire pads, changing over faulty parts would definitely be helpful if there are stick drift issues. On Price topic, I imagine it will cost around £130 odd. Anything less would be brilliant though.
I reckon it's going to be £150. The case, 3 different thumb sticks, braided cable, interchangeable sticks, back buttons, programmable and trigger locks. That's a lot over the standard one.
And I think still keeping the adaptive triggers and having trigger locks is a win over all the 3rd party controllers out there. With them you either have the adaptive triggers or they put in trigger lock only ones. So to get the benefit of those triggers in most games but then to be able to put the lock on for fps online games will be great.
Hope it comes out this year.
Playstation has been starved of proper Pro controller for so long. Its about time .
@Deoxyr1bose This comment made my night
if it still has the same weak batteries and bad analog sticks then it’s worthless . idk what they mean by interchangeable sticks , i don’t want to have to change them at all because , why ?
"Dualsense Edge. Damage Control"
I can't wait to drop $300 on this!
Some of the poll price options were hilarious
It'll be about £100-£120, I wouldn't pay more than £80.
@MattBoothDev the xbox elite controller is £150 and this has more features. I reckon it will be priced the same.
@Serialsid yeah, sounds about right.
If it doesn't have a bigger battery IDC
Lever type controls underneath will be good for shifting in bike games especially, with clutch being on a stick for analog control.
I am going to buy this because I'm one of the dudes that's been begging for one although I have a feeling only v.2 will be worth its price.
In general, I am not a fan of the base controller. Feels weird in hands compared to what is an ergonomic pinnacle that is the xb controller.
Also, only two back buttons? Meh, really?
I have elite2 and I was probably the dude that bought, like, half of the stock of ds4 back button attachments (I can't play ps4 games without it, it's awesome) so, I will welcome this one. It will probably be £179/€199/$159
