The launch of Overwatch 2 is just days away, with servers going live on 4th October. The original Overwatch will be completely replaced in the process, and the service will be free to play for all players. We got a new trailer that shows heroes, both new and old, in action.
While many aspects of Overwatch will remain the same, there are a few key differences. Perhaps the largest is the shift from 6v6 to 5v5, which is sure to shake up the competitive meta in a big way. Another is the addition of new heroes like Kiriko, which brings the total of playable characters up to 35. There will be a grand total of 22 global maps across 6 different game modes, with more content already in the pipeline. Overwatch fans will be eating well next week, provided there are no technical snafus or server issues once the big day arrives.

i don’t wanna overhype myself but i’m excited
I was burned out of the old one and ill keep away from this im not into free to play.

Not the fact that They now require a phone number to play?
@Martsmall New players will have to play around 100 matches apparently to unlock base heroes as well.
Was quite good and had a lot of fun in the original Overwatch, but dropped it due to high amount of trolls and rage quitters even in ranked games.
Might try this one, but I usually stay away from f2p games (excluding Path of Exile and Warframe).
@WanderingBullet Oh no! Not a major reward every 3-ish matches!!! How awful!!!!!

@MFTWrecks Paladins is goated. That's all I have to bring to this conversation.
@Kairu I really don’t man. Game isn’t being promoted and hyped to the same extent as it’s predecessor. Success may have to come down to word of mouth alone depending on wether it offers enough.
None of the characters seem very well designed honestly. Plus free to play puts me off. Might give it a go though, haven’t played this type of game in ages. Well, if it’s not a game that forces verbal communication anyway…
Hopefully the trophy campaign gives some direction to what is likely to be a repetitive sandbox style game.
This game has fallen hard... good luck making it relevant again.
Also, the more I read about this new version (not calling it Overwatch 2 because it really isn't), the worse it gets.
Another amazing MMO game that I wish could be played offline.
