Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection, is already the best way to play Uncharted 4: A Thief's End and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, and it just got a little bit better, with VRR support being added in the title's latest update.
The update, which is known by its catchy technical title, 1.002.000, is live now on PS5, and provided you have a TV capable of supporting it (so those that are compatible with HMDI 2.1), it will allow players to use Variable Refresh Rate options. VRR adapts the framerate depending on what is happening on screen, and allows your TV to match the output of the PS5 more closely, resulting in a smoother gameplay experience.
If you have been holding off on a replay of either Uncharted 4 or Lost Legacy, then consider this your sign from above to dive back in. What do you think of VRR, do you notice the difference? Debate us on a technicality in the comments section below.

I played it on performance mode back in January and never felt that it needed VRR. But it probably will help with the 120 FPS mode
I already played both games in 1080p at 120fps on my LG C1 OLED and it was a great experience. The gameplay was so smooth and it still looked good, even at 1080p. I still need to go back to Uncharted 4 to get some more trophies for the Platinum. This will give me another reason to check out the VRR update. I hope Naughty Dog added gyro aiming with this update as well 🤞.
The game can be found around 20-30 bucks and this trend happens to all ps retail games, so the narrative about playstation being expensive is false.You only need a blu-ray drive and some patience.
@DTfeartheBEARD Gyro aiming is the best, I love it
It would be nice to play this game at 40fps 120Hz, but from what I understand this isn’t included with the update.
@lexveem it is. The 4K mode now runs in a 120 hz container and targets 40 fps (or more).
cant wait til this is on pc love this game series.
@dschons Same here, I love gyro aiming! I'm glad it's available on The Last Of Us Part 1 & 2 at least...
@DTfeartheBEARD it is in Part II? Damn, I must have totally missed this. I liked it in Part I as well once you fully upgraded to get rid of the weapon swaying but I feel in HFW it was much more precise, pretty perfect to me. Almost felt like mouse and keyboard type of precision, it was such a blast. Although I've been playing on console for such a long time now, my aiming with analog sticks still isn't near as great as "it should be". It's ok, I get through all the games but gyro aim makes it so much more comfortable to me. It is only topped by aiming with your head in VR, lol. RE7 in VR was headshot galore.
@Reeneman Great news, thanks.
@dschons Yeah, gyro aiming was added to TLOU Part 2 a few months after launch. I went back and played it again to get the Platinum and playing with gyro was glorious! Exactly lol, the first thing I did was upgrade the weapon sway fully in TLOU Part 1. I love RE7 but unfortunately I never played it in VR. I'm debating getting PSVR2 just to play RE4 & RE Village. I agree, gyro controls felt perfect in HFW. Hopefully more games will support gyro on PS5 because the list is so small compared to Switch.
@DTfeartheBEARD It seems to be a trend within PS first party games and I love it. Here's hoping they'll keep it up. I went back to get the Plat in Part II as well but I missed the setting. Quickly checked just now and now I found it, don't know what went wrong with my brain the first time I looked. Darn. Went back to play some enemy heavy sections and OMG, you're right. Absolutely glorious!
Awesome to hear! Still waiting for them to remaster/port the first 3 Uncharted games before I start replaying thru UC4 and Lost Legacy though.
