FIFA 23 is off to a roaring start, racking up more than 10 million players in its first week alone, 10.3 if you want to be exact. For comparison, FIFA 22 managed a very respectable 9.1 million players in its first ten days on the market, numbers that any game would kill to have.
The increase may be attributed to the fact that FIFA 23 marks the end of the franchise's 30-year-long history after failing to strike a new deal with world football's governing body. We thought the game was good and a strong note for the series to go out on, and you can read our full thoughts on the matter in our review.
It hasn't all been smooth sailing, though, with EA wiping millions of coins worth of value out of its own digital marketplace following a snafu involving a Hero Pack.
Are you one of the many millions who've picked up FIFA 23? How do you think it stacks up against previous titles in the series? Kick-off in the comments section below.

No, I’ve been playing FIFA 2003 instead. Shockingly bad at it too, despite Celtic now owning Kahn, Davids and Roberto Carlos. For all my moaning about Ultimate Team when I played FIFA 21, it does add a lot more content. I was amazed just how content light the games from my childhood were.
I'm one of them yes.
One of the things I do like is the new power shot, (for anyone who hasn't played you hold L1 & R1 at the same time then shoot) at first when I heard about it I was worried it may be a bit of an arcade gimmick and take away some of the realism of the game.
However I really like it, it's surprisingly tricky to pull off as you need a fair bit of time and space because the defenders pounce on you pretty quickly, but when you get it right and the ball hits the back of the net like a rocket missile it feels extremely satisfying
@Member_the_game Same. Once you get the hang of the power shot, its so much fun!
its always a black Friday buy as its always half price.
but football manager is getting my money this year
Meanwhile I racked 1.5 mil coins team in 20 hrs
@Member_the_game I initially thought it would be a game breaker (fifa street) type mechanic but realized I actually quite digged it anyway as is. Kind of is like real life where you're tryna hit it as hard as possible and it sometimes goes laughably wide.
@Bamila tell me your secrets fam
@Cherip-the-Ripper I am just spending more time trading and opening packs (not a single dollar spent on points) than actually playing the game.
@Bamila I've been out of the game for too long to try my hand at making money via trading. Glad to see a fellow brother striving though
