It’s been a long time coming, but Mundfish’s oddball alternate history first-person shooter Atomic Heart will finally get a PS5 and PS4 release date tomorrow. Confirmation comes courtesy of a scheduled IGN First video, which will air at 6AM PT / 1PM GMT on Wednesday, 2nd November. There’ll also be additional information on the game right throughout the month thereafter.
The madcap FPS, which will be published by Focus Entertainment, currently has a vague “early 2023” release window, so expect it anywhere from January through April. This should add another must-have to what’s looking like an outstanding start to the year, with the likes of Hogwarts Legacy and Resident Evil 4 also slated to kickstart the new year in style.

@Gloamin
Agreed, the game looks really interesting. I get everybody has a line when it comes to supporting something but the fact that they are a Russian dev isn't an issue to myself either. Their government are the people in the wrong, not your average citizen.
This game had a difficult and interesting path to release, but I am happy it seems to finally make it. Gives me some kind of BioShock vibes. Not day 1 probably, but 99% I will pick it up.
@Gloamin. I dont care if its made by Russian.this game looks amazing.and im buying it.word up son
One of my most hyped games so can't wait for it to finally arrive.
I just hope it's at least 15 hours or more, the world looks so interesting.
@Korgon where was this "the people aren't their government" attitude when it comes to Chinese companies? By the way, Tencent has their fingers in this game too if that effects your opinion on it.
Personal boycotting aside, I'm a bit surprised that it's still coming to Game Pass. Admittedly I haven't followed how Sony & Microsoft are handling business in Russia, but at one point at least Sony pulled Gran Turismo 7 from sale on the PSN Store there.
Day 1 for me. This has looked great from the start
I’ve had my eye on this for some time now and every new trailer just increases my interest. Definitely looking forward to seeing a release date for it. Hope it’s in the March or April timeframe, personally. Regardless, it’s likely a Day 1 purchase for me.
@Milktastrophe
Like I said everyone has that line they won't cross but similar to the situation with Atomic Heart I have no issue with the Chinese people. Heck just this year I played Anno Mutationem, a game Sony helped get to the finish line through their China Hero project. Everyone has a choice to make themselves about whatever it is they might support.
If Mundfish had came out in full support of everything Putin has done I probably would be singing a different tune but they haven't, so I see no reason to assume they do just because they are Russian.
It's so sad to see here all the people who "don't care if it's russian". By supporting russian developers, you support more war, more hostility, more killings. It's sad to see that Sony releases the game at all.
Full boycott the game for me. I am Ukrainian, yes. They are shelling our cities, killing, raping, torturing our people just because we don't like f.. pseudo-communist ideas and just because we dare to have our own culture and history.
By buying this game you support genocide.
And yes, the average russian citizen are all in the wrong here, not only their government, because they all support this war.
You can at least not support the war by not buying this russian-made game. By not buying any russian-made stuff.
But it's so far away from UK and US, and it's easy to just don't care, right?
FINALLY! This game looks absolutely coocoo-bananas and I am here for it!
@skaarj217 usa…nato have been pushing further east for the last 10 years they know what there doing…Russia have told them on many occasions don’t come any closer…so when you poke the bear expect to be ***** up. Also would America like Russia to put there weapons in Canada or Mexico?….so can we stop giving Russia so much ***** when it’s the west that’s caused the war..also I’m not Russian I’m 🇬🇧
@DETfaninATL apparently it's Feb 21st
I think it’s probably best to disable the comments on articles about this game. Pro Russian rhetoric has no place here. Until the war stops all Russians should face the consequences of their complicity. This game should be boycotted.
@gomersoul
How would you like it if the rest of the world refused to buy your product that you put blood, sweat and tears into and put you into financial ruin over just because the country you happen to live in has committed human rights violations that has literally nothing to do with you in any way, shape or form? It says you are in the UK according to your bio. The British government, the American government, every first world government has committed human rights violations. Does that mean you or I should be punished for something neither of us had anything to do with?
@gomersoul That's a bad take, disagree with the war is good but don't be an ignorant in saying all Russians want war smh.
@PegasusActual93 @RawnDawn Come on guys. Are you suggesting we should all keep buying Russian products because someone worked hard for it? I am from England and couldn’t be more aware now that a population suffers from actions of its government. Ours is a complete joke and since brexit all benefits of being English are disappearing and rightly so. If more of my people used their brains and votes remain than economic sanctions our businesses are suffering wouldn’t be happening. The only weapon I have against the Russian administration is money, it’s disappointing but games are not different to any other commodity.
Removed - unconstructive
@KaijuKaiser The only reason USA and nato standing up for the little guy is to make money and gain more power FACT. they couldn’t give a ***** about Ukraine….there are bigger human rights problems going in the Congo but there nothing to be gained going there.
