A pair of well-liked indie titles have received the PS5 upgrade treatment. Indie label Finji has announced two of its games, namely Night in the Woods and Overland, are now available natively on PS5:
As stated in this tweet, the two games are now on Sony's latest hardware in 4K resolution with performance at 60 frames-per-second. Furthermore, if you own these games on PS4, you can get the PS5 versions for free.
Night in the Woods is a highly regarded adventure game, in which you play as Mae, who drops out of college and returns to her hometown. There, you can meet all her friends and not-so-friends, engaging in conversations and not getting a whole lot done. It's an emotional, narrative-focused game that really resonated with people when it originally launched.
Overland is less well-known, but is no less interesting. It's a rogue-like in which you're travelling from the east to the west of the USA, stopping off along the way to grab supplies and fuel. However, strange monsters and other threats present a problem, and you'll need to make tactical plays in order to survive as long as you can. With various characters and numerous random elements in play, there's plenty to discover.
Will you be checking either of these games out on PS5? Do you have them already on PS4? Tell us in the comments section below.

Oh ace, i have night in the woods, but never got around to playing it. Thanks for the heads up!
Interestingly the file size is 1.88gb compared to 6.92 on PS4. Im thinking once we get to PS5 only releases we are going to continue to see these game files shrinking
@Rob_230
Maybe some day when it's almost time for the PS6 to come out that they'll stop holding back PS5 games because of the PS4
I am surprised how many indie developers are making the effort to create PS5 versions, and for free. Gris got an upgrade yesterday.
Night in the Woods wasn't a hardware pushing game in the first place. Seems like a pointless update.
I have Night in the Woods in my backlog and Overland on my wish list, so good to see. Usually, the PS5 upgrades happen after I have already started the game on PS4, and I prefer not to have dual trophy lists.
Finally! NITW is one of my favorites. I may or may not have a NITW wallpaper on my phone right now. Haha!
@Rob_230 exactly the same here, remember waiting ages for NITW to go on a decent sale and then when it finally did, I grabbed it but never got around to playing it. This is a nice surprise.
Hated NITW. Well, maybe not hated. But it did not live up to the hype.
New trophy lists, saves/trophies do not carry over. Personally that’s my ideal outcome.
Thanks for reminding me to check out NITW! I keep hearing good things about it.
