One of the best retro compilations of the year, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection, just got a ton cooler β with a patch enabling online co-op in the SNES edition of the iconic TMNT IV: Turtles in Time. The update also includes improvements to the titleβs netcode across the board, which is always appreciated.
In fact, the meaty patch for PS5 and PS4 also adds customisable button mapping, fresh Game Boy screen filters, arcade stick support, and even a handful of new tips inside the in-game strategy guides. And developer Digital Extremes says itβs far from done: it promises a future update will add online co-op to the NES version of TMNT III: The Manhattan Project. Radical!

With all this support, this will be for sure become a gem to keep in the library. Never was a super fan of TMNT, but this collection makes me happy.
Cowabunga dude!
A much appreciated update.
Kind of a shame I can't do an "a la carte" purchase of the versions I want. I would only buy the Arcade versions TMNT and Turtles in Time.
The word cowabunga is completely ingrained in my mind due to DQXI having a voice line during battle of βcower.. worms!β that 100% made me think heβd say βcowerbungerβ in an English accent every single bloody time.
@GamingFan4Lyf just say what the heck and treat yourself. If you keep thinking about it just buy it π
It's also currently on sale.
It's a great collection but the online multiplayer was absolutely broken at launch. I really hope they fix it as I'd love to play the arcade and SNES games with friends.
@Luigia Maybe one day.
It's not a priority when I have some hefty JRPGs in my queue (Dragon Quest XI, Persona 5, Nier: Replicant) plus whatever I get for Christmas.
Besides, if I really want to play the Arcade games, I have ways to do so.
@GamingFan4Lyf did you just say RetroPi πΎπΉοΈ Iβve these TMNT games on those but do appreciate these games being released as packages.
Wishing you a happy gaming Christmas ππ»
@Luigia LOL, I don't actually have a RetroPi. I have a perfectly capable laptop...that can do things...but I don't do things because things are a gray area not to be discussed.
Got the PS5 version for $20 on black Friday. I'll crack it open once I see video proof that the off line input lag and online multi-player are actually fixed.
@GamingFan4Lyf enjoy whatever gaming you play over Christmas and be excellent ππ»
You know, how about updating the netcode to make the arcade game playable...
This is not 1999 with a 56k dial up.
It feels like you are playing underwater when a player joins and it ruins what could be a perfect game.
GGPO is used with games in the past with flawless results, check it out guys and incorporate it!
Waiting for a $10 bargain sale digitally before I buy, though honestly it'll prob just sit in my backlog unplayed forever.
