There ain't no stopping this Capcom train, it seems. In its latest financial report, the Japanese publisher reveals its ambitions to sell a record number of games this fiscal year (which lasts up until the end of March 2023). Indeed, the company's posted some serious numbers recently, with the likes of Monster Hunter Rise, Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3, and Devil May Cry 5 selling especially well.
In total, Capcom forecasts a record-breaking 40 million game sales. It's currently up to an already impressive 29.1 million for fiscal year 22-23, but the company clearly thinks that continued sales, along with the release of the Resident Evil 4 remake in March, will push things above and beyond.
And honestly, we wouldn't bet against it happening. Assuming it's not some kind of unthinkable disaster, Resident Evil 4 is a nailed-on blockbuster, and Monster Hunter Rise is finding yet more success after its release on PlayStation platforms earlier this month.
Do you think Capcom will break 40 million sales in the next couple of months? Give us a Capgod in the comments section below.

It’s one of, if not the finest publisher out there. Every game is just top standard.
Now, where’s a new Resident Evil entry at Capcom?
I am so happy to see how Capcom turned its fortunes around, they learned a harsh lesson about their practices, especially having paid DLC on discs and have really gone from strength to strength!! Really looking forward to Resident Evil 4 Remake and it really does deserve to sell as well as I am hoping!!
Just hurry up Capcom..With Dragon Dogma 2 lol..
I think both resident evil 4 remake and sf6 will sell like crazy.
I've been gaming for longer than I care to remember but the best times always seem to coincide with when Capcom are at the top of their game and they've been on a roll for a few years now. I can see both RE4 and SF6 being huge successes and have Resident Evil 4 preordered already and I'm looking forward to playing Village in VR
Would still love to know what psvr2 content for re4 remake entails.Theyve said nothing since the state of play and I'm guessing it's got something to do with the quest 2 version of re4vr but who knows.Fingers crossed for full game playable on psvr2 for later on in the year to release alongside half life alex when sony gives psvr2 its real push

Best third party publisher.
i hope resi 4 remake turns out to be great since it clearly deserves it. with that said, when was the last time a NEW release from capcom hit as hard as resident evil 4? i would argue it has not happened since...well.... resident evil 4 back in 2005. resi 5 and 6 were disappointments, while 7 and 8 got the series back on track but did not have even a fraction of the influence or impact of resi 4 upon its release (or even resi 2 for that matter). dmc 4 and 5 were solid entries but played it safe nontheless. monster hunter games have been consistent in their quality for a while now, but have only received incremental upgrades with each release and have become predictable in their own right. street fighter has been stuck in the mud since sf 4 — i realize it is more difficult to innovate with fighting games, though, outside of the graphics and art direction.
so... i do hope capcom can release a new IP or sequel at some point that is able to catch us off guard and make a cultural impact that is as powerful as resident evil 4 upon its release in 2005. a tall order, i know. maybe pragmata will blow our minds haha. time will tell.
They better add a picture mode option into Remake 4!
I'm one of those that hated the original RE4 release for being so different than its previous releases with a more action game rather than horror but even I myself is hyped for the RE4 remake so it's gonna do super good numbers if players like me are hyped for it also. Just hoping with the now better graphics it ends up way more scary horror and what we've so far it does look scarier?. I just don't find wave after wave of enemies coming at you checkpoint after checkpoint as scary even though this remake will most likely do the same but hopefully much more scarier in the less action parts
Per Push Square's recommendation on where to start with Resident Evil, I recently finished 7 and loved it. Currently looking at 2 and 3 to finish before grabbing 4 once it's polished with a few patches. Never would have guessed I'd love a horror game series but here we are.
