One Piece Odyssey was one of the best-selling games in Japan during its first week on the market, with only the joint sales of Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet beating it to top spot. The PS4 version sold best at 35,123 units, while the PS5 edition sold 26,879 copies. It beat out competition from other Nintendo games like Splatoon 3 and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.

Loving it so far. Bit more linear than I'd like and you can see the budget or dev ability not quite being enough sometimes - like when you're effectively teleported into Rainy Dinners instead of arriving at the town its in, Rainbase, normally and going through the city. Kind of like if you visited London by teleporting from your house to a room in Madam Tussaud's then teleported back again 10 mins later. It was great seeing London, right?
Anyway, the rest is great. Well, apart from another pet peeve that the DLC costumes don't actually show up in cutscenes, portraits or in fact anywhere out of battle, other than that weird choice, it's surely one of the best licensed anime games of all time.

I have been waiting for this technology all my life.....
Great news. Enjoying it.
Looks great on my Steam Deck also. Another fun turn based jRPG in the library - glad they are still making these 👍
Well deserved! The demo is super solid if slightly boring, it rubs me kind of the same way as DQXI: I feel some kind of additional gameplay twist is missing (like say the “chains” in #FE or the ability to spend turns in advance like in Octopath Traveler or the Sabbath in Soul Hackers 2). Maybe it will be in the full game. Totally worth playing though, especially for fans of the series!
@Matroska
I'm holding off for a difficulty patch as i find it laughably easy after several hours.
Does it get more difficult later?
Why don’t you post the hardware chart?
It's weird seeing Push Square post articles about Famitsu sales the last few months, after being on here for ages and barely seeing anything about them pop up. Guess with PS5 stock in a better state there's actually something to talk about regarding Japan for PlayStation
Glad playstation stuff is selling enough in japan again for pushsquare to cover the sales data weekly again. It has been a long time.
@MUG3NHC I haven't been able to play it for a few days so I'm only at the end of Alabasta, but it's still not challenging though it has got slightly tougher. Crocodile was easily the most difficult thing so far but still not that bad.
