PlayStation Productions has been a pretty successful venture for Sony so far, and it's showing no signs of slowing down yet. It's still relatively early days, but we've already had the Uncharted movie become a box office hit and The Last of Us TV adaptation breaking records (and hearts) with HBO. There's more to come in 2023, though, and that might include Twisted Metal.
In a tweet, PS Productions head Asad Qizilbash uses his elevator ride to highlight what's happening this year. The Gran Turismo movie is next on the agenda, with the aforementioned Last of Us show also getting a nod. However, Qizilbash also implies the Twisted Metal TV show is heading our way in 2023:
"You can't see me, but my head is on fire, too," he says, with clown and fire emojis to really drive the point home.
Indeed, filming on the series finished last year, meaning it's now entrenched in post-production territory. Starring Anthony Mackie as John Doe and Samoa Joe as Sweet Tooth (with Will Arnett providing the voice), we've known about the adaptation for a while, and it seems like it's now a matter of months away. Presumably we will see more from it fairly soon, if it really is lining up for its debut in 2023.

And hopefully a great game to go with it!
which streaming platform is it on?
guess its death race on steroids
I'd be very interested in watching. Until we see a trailer I don't have much faith in this one. If it ends up good then we need a new game!
@stvevan peacock
Wheres the game ? Do y’all know how much it sucks to see a twisted metal article only for it to be about a TV show .
@KaijuKaiser $ony more interested in movies/interactive movies
Wish they never moved the PS division to California , they’ve sucked ever since
I cant wait to see what a modern day Twisted Metal game can play like. Car combat is a tricky one to get right. If they nail this i will day one it for sure. I loved playing Twisted Metal Black with my friends back in the day. Fingers crossed for the game, not all that much interest in a show tho.
If Sony puts out Twisted Metal 2 with trophy support on PS Plus Premium I'll upgrade my subscription.
@PegasusActual93 yeah that game flopped hard, but it made Sony rethink who to put on the Twisted Metal development team.
Honestly, I am a bit tired of this trend of turning videogames into TV shows. I would rather play a new twisted metal. Its funny how playstation is slowly turning into the “xbox one”
@AlienigenX @PegasusActual93 @Green-Bandit @nomither6 @Beeeee-AHH-eer @Martijn87 new Twisted Metal would be cool, I haven't played any of the games since my childhood.
Just hope we won't have to wait another decade though.
@KidBoruto i am hoping it is deep in development, but haven’t heard much about it, other then the show they are making and they switched devs on it. I think thats all I’ve read so far. I just hope it’s good.not an easy genre to get right, having to steer and aim a weapon at the same time is a tricky mechanic to get right.
@Green-Bandit Only time will tell. Shame we haven't had a new entry in awhile ago.
@KidBoruto agreed, let’s hope they get it right and it’s fun to play. I would support it for sure even tho it will be a games for service model more than likely.
@Green-Bandit As long as there's a story campaign (which is all I desire), free to play would work for me honestly.
@KidBoruto definitely would like to see story. But i would be willing to bet this is a free to play game. One of the 10 or so they say is in development. I’m good with that. Seems like a smart way to get this game played. Not sure it would thrive as a $70 dollar standalone product.
