Childhood dream simulator Disney Dreamlight Valley just got its third major update in the form of the aggressively wholesome-sounding Festival of Friendship. It's available right now on both PS5 and PS4.
Introducing new friends (yay), features, and even some frost, the Festival of Friendship update brings Frozen's frigid snowman Olaf to town, along with Mirabel from Encanto. A premium shop has been added, which we are sure will give Disney yet another licence to print money, where you can spend real-world cash on an endless variety of cosmetic items, furniture and clothing if you are so inclined.
Have you been playing Disney Dreamlight Valley? Does the Festival of Friendship tempt you to return? Let's all be friends together in the comments section below.

Another GOTY contender
I’m a bit behind in this game. Lots of missions I need to complete and I still haven’t unlocked a few characters.
Unfortunately the update has been completely overshadowed by the introduction of the ‘Premium Store’ where they’re charging 4,850 moonstones for a furniture pack containing three items.
To put that into perspective, the 5,500 moonstone pack costs £17.99/$19.99 on the PlayStation Store.
I love this game but Gameloft have allowed their greed to take monetisation to a new level of extreme. It’s a real shame.
Won’t be anywhere near as good as KO and Chris Jericho’s.
@ItsBritneyB_tch But as game moves towards Free to play release, season pass gives back 80% of Moonstones. Daily Moonstones are raised to 50. They have to monetise game. Not only to develop games, but Disney is very expensive company, they need their share. Thats the reality, you dont earn millions and billions from f2p games via cheap microtransactions.
@REALAIS I understand they need to make money - we knew the Premium Shop was coming (although perhaps not whilst the game is still in Beta). But charging £17.99/$19.99 for three pieces of furniture is obscene. It can’t be justified. The furniture packs should have been priced at £4.49/$4.99 (which is still ridiculous imo). This would encourage more people to buy them and they’d make more money overall.
It doesn’t help that the new Star Path is the weakest one yet and is made up of 60% motifs, which are useless. All the big decorative/furniture items that should be included (as they were in previous Star Paths) are now being sold on the Premium Shop instead. Greed.
@ItsBritneyB_tch thats how big brands work. Money talks. Not buying is best option to be heard. I want to see what will change in 4 days in shop.
@REALAIS Just release a priced game.
I played it for a good while. I unlocked all the locations and all the Disney friends that I care about. I don’t care for many modern Disney characters, so I quit.
Still waiting for the game to become free to play, before I'll give it a try.
