Gran Turismo 7 may have got its biggest update yet last month, with its gigantic and critically acclaimed PSVR2 patch – but nothing stops this sports car. Right on time, series creator Kazunori Yamauchi has taken to social media to confirm that another five free vehicles are en route, and will be added as part of the game’s update next week.
Petrol heads have already been busy trying to identify the cars, and it looks like we’re getting a couple of Porsches, an Audi RS5 DTM, a Toyota Alphard, and a Mazda 3. As always, specific models are difficult to determine, as the lineup has been teased using silhouettes, making it practically impossible to pinpoint the exact versions of these vehicles until they’re officially announced.
It’s worth adding that this may not be the entire extent of the update either. While last month’s patch was a particularly big one, developer Polyphony Digital usually bundles in some new Scapes and other improvements when it refreshes the game, so keep an eye out for those. One thing we do know, however, is that the team’s AI beta GT Sophy will be removed on 29th March.
All this suggests the update will probably arrive on Wednesday, but we’ll of course update you with specific timing as and when we get more information. In the meantime, you’ll find Gran Turismo 7 in our list of Best PSVR2 Games – it really is that good in virtual reality.

Actually free, or is it a ridiculous number of in game credits? Haven’t played in a while fell off it because of the difficulty of getting enough credits.
Mazda3!!!
It’s always fun to see a car that I own put into the game. Mazda is a very underrated brand.
I’m still staggered they put the RS500 in it ha
@elpardo1984 you can earn millions just doing circuit experiences.
What were you doing/not doing to find it such an issue?
Looking forward to the Porsche 904. You can easily earn 20+ million credits doing just the circuit experiences. Combine that with selling all the cars you don’t need/like and you should have more than enough to buy almost anything.
@elpardo1984 free as in they don’t cost any money but you have to earn the cars in the game. This has been the case with every gt game ever! and it’s not hard to earn credits. Like others have said, doing circuit experiences or selling cars that you earn through competitions is just one way to earn a lot of credits
@PlatinumKing @MatthewJP I don’t think I was imagining there was quite a bit of controversy when it first launched around being super grindy. Looking it up I’d need to do around 20 circuit experiences for 1 car. I think I’ll pass
@elpardo1984 nonsense. Most circuit experiences net you 1 million.
@MatthewJP He's right, in the beginning it was ridiculous the amount of racing you had to do to earn enough credits for the high end cars after you completed the main tasks. People quickly resorted to cheating with certain cars by taking advantage of the broken tuning.
@elpardo1984 They've basically fixed the economy now. There are a lot more ways to make money. That first month or so was rough, but don't let those first missteps cause you to miss out on the game, it is a great game.
@ILikeStake thanks that was the answer I was looking for!
