Monster Hunter Rise, like many of its predecessors, was significantly expanded with the arrival of a big DLC. Titled Sunbreak, it originally released for Nintendo Switch and PC in the summer of last year, and critics went crazy over it, heaping praise on how it shakes up the action RPG's gameplay loop, with new monsters, mechanics, and a fresh storyline.
Anyway, Sunbreak is coming to PS5 and PS4 next month, on the 28th April. Capcom had previously promised a Spring 2023 launch date, and we've got one.
Are you still playing Monster Hunter Rise? Have you been waiting for Sunbreak to come to PlayStation? Remember to keep your weapon sharp in the comments section below.

Never did it on Switch, so looking forward to it.
i played rise on GP, switching to ps5... quick dumb question....
Sunbreak doesnt include the base Rise game correct? so best buy Rise while on sale? or is there a complete type edition being released?
Base game is currently on sale for 50% off just as an FYI.
How’s the player population on PS5? Picked it up on Switch, but kind of curious about how it performs next gen.
So so hyped for this and was what I was most excited about back when base Rise was announced for PS
Hopefully it adds the difficulty Rise desperately needed. As much as I loved and still am loving the game, there haven't been very many quests that kept me at the edge of my seat. The closest thing has been those emergency apex missions but even those didn't put up much of a fight
I played it on Switch, and as with any MH game I can't get myself to play it from the start. I did like this round of MH though. As much as I rated MHW, that quasi openworld style was quite a big shift for me, and I enjoyed going back to the more traditional feeling MH Rise line.
@stvevan Yes, Sunbreak is an expansion DLC that you have to buy the main game to access.
@Wilforce Its been fine for me though i've barely touched co-op as i rushed to the end game in prep for Sunbreak, after sinking so much time into the Switch version i'm finding it quicker to hunt solo haha.
Is there a physical edition?
@KundaliniRising333 Why are you lying? There's no battle passes at all in the game and the game can be played offline with ease. The only monetization in the game is Sunbreak an expansion bigger then the base game and some cosmetic stuff you can easily ignore as the main game has way more then enough already. Also Rise isn't a live service.
@WallyWest whoops, I thought this was the exoprkmal thread. Lol.
Can't wait. Rise is in my top 3 this year
Nice to finally have a solid release date! Thanks for sharing the news.
