Happy Wednesday, everyone! The middle of the week is here, and that almost always means some sort of new sale on the PS Store. Starting today, 15th March, is the Essential Picks offer, which brings prices down on over a thousand PS5 and PS4 games and add-ons. As always, there's a healthy mix of games big and small in the sale, and we've picked out a handful that we'd recommend while they're going cheap.
Here are just a few of the deals in this latest sale:
- Assassin's Creed Valhalla (£19.79 / $19.79)
- Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time (£19.79 / $19.79)
- Dead Cells (£11.99 / $14.99)
- Deathloop (£19.79 / $19.79)
- Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot (£14.99 / $14.99)
- F1 Manager 2022 (£14.39 / $16.49)
- Forspoken (£43.54 / $46.89)
- GRID Legends (£14.99 / $11.99)
- Lost Judgment (£19.99 / $23.99)
- Moonlighter (£3.19 / $3.99)
- PowerWash Simulator (£15.99 / $19.99)
- Sniper Elite 5 (£32.99 / $35.99)
- SOMA (£2.39 / $2.99)
- Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order (£4.49 / $3.99)
- Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge (£15.99 / $19.99)
- Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 (£15.99 / $15.99)
There's a huge number of excellent discounts in this sale, so it's well worth a browse while it lasts. It runs from today until 29th March, so there's plenty of time to make your mind up. Will you be nabbing anything in the latest sale? Tell us what you're buying in the comments section below.

Most of these listed are already offered in PS Plus essential library so it makes the choice harder. Do you think RE Village expansion will ever get discount?
Cut n paste sales and we keep saying they're new. They're not, changing name doesn't change result.
@Slippship
This always annoys me. I know there are legal requirements that you can’t just keep a”sale price” indefinitely, but it really feels like people are punished for wanting a game at a time that happens to be between “sales”, because the game just goes right up to full price even if it’s many years old. Prices need to go down over time both in terms of the standard price and the sale price, but they hardly ever do!
Backlog-tastic.
@dimi it's on discount now (not massively)

I bought it the other day. I wasn't blown away by Village but
playing in 3rd person is so much better. Like another game. One of the best resident evils.
Synth Riders as well on sale! But I will rather wait for nondiscounted Beat Saber, hopefully out soon
@thefourfoldroot1 I use this website. It tracks the price-history of every game and DLC, and this particular page only displays items if their price is the lowest on record.
https://psprices.com/region-gb/collection/lowest-prices-ever?price_min=&price_max=&discount_min=&show=games%2Caddons&metascore=&sort=date&ordering=desc
@Thumper
I use that now too. There is a better one but I completely forgot the name and lost the link!
@thefourfoldroot1 2 weeks after I buy f1 22 at 1/2 price too. 😂
For those who’ve yet to try it, I implore my fellow PS fans to buy Dead Cells. It’s utterly incredible. And the recent Return to Castlevania DLC elevates the game even further.
Jeez, Forspoken’s already on sale. I recommend that one for anyone that wants to try something new that has an open mind.
Some games never change in price, Sekiro, MH Iceborne expansion and FFXII Zodiac Age for example.
@thefourfoldroot1 I use psprices too. I used to use one called psdeals.net which has a few more filters and looks flashier, but it sometimes missed out games I was interested in which was very annoying. Never had a problem with psprices, and it has deals for all regions which suits me well for my Turkey account.
I loved Deathloop.
@PenguinLtd I don't know if "fun" is the word I'd use, but I find the game very soothing. It's great if you want to unwind, and cleaning the levels top to bottom is very satisfying to me. It's probably not everyone's cup of tea but I really enjoy it.
Just got ys origin and lost ruins, already got ys origin on steam deck and lost ruin on series x but I want to play both on my ps5. Also gunlord x is $3, but maybe old school 2D shooter is best played on portables.
@dimi correction, most of these games are/were on plus extra so this sale is mainly for people on the essential tier of plus
There is other games that have been discounted like forspoken and sonic frontiers but it's not discounted enough for me to purchase just yet
@thefourfoldroot1 that is the downside of digital but it's about being patient enough to wait till they are reasonably priced, physical media is in fact worse because ps5 games stay 70 quid for longer on disc while digital gets discounted more often, something I've noticed anyways
@The_Pixel_King nah, no thanks, I'll pass on that one 😏😏
Moonlighter is a fantastic game, and even more awesome at $3.99.
Wanted to buy Judgement (not Lost Judgement), the PS4 version is 50% off, the PS5 version is 0% off (aka the same price as always). Amazing...
Platprices is a good one. It shows you the discount history plus how long a game takes to platinum and if it has any unobtainables.
Uncharted bundle for €10. Yes I'll have some of that,
@Bricktop33
Thank, that’s the one I used to use. Much easier to navigate
@huyi
Well, that’s just not true. Physical comes down in price far faster, largely as shops need to make shelf space for new releases. Plus you can get the games second hand which is even cheaper. Plus you can sell/trade them when finished, so even cheaper.
Wish platform holders would open a digital store for trade ins.
@thefourfoldroot1 would it be https://www.dekudeals.com/ ?
No gran turismo 7 sale?
@dimi Winters Expansion is £12 now in UK store vs £16 normal price but sale ends tonight (midnight UK time) or you can pick up the Gold Edition which includes game and expansion for £27 I believe. Not sure if you’re UK based or similar in your area but FYI.
Think I'll finally pick up Valkyrie Elysium. The demo was quite fun
@TheArt Well maybe digital but FFXII is £15 on Amazon as opposed to £40 on PSN.
@huyi What are you basing that on? Forbidden West is still £70 digitally but is £40 on Amazon (equivalent to a 43% off sale). Ragnarok is £55 on Amazon but £70 on PSN (equivalent to a 22% off sale - almost a quarter off!).
AC Valhalla is £20 in the sale above which is only £1 less than its normal Amazon price and about the same as on places like The Game Collection. Typically these digital sales bring prices to normal physical levels.
I'm really tempted to buy Forspoken I'm just not sure if i should wait it out longer for a cheap physical copy. How is the side content in it for anyone that's played it.
@thefourfoldroot1 You aren't thinking of psdeals.net are you?
Or CEX in UK. 😏 I agree, sometimes there's finally something that isn't on Plus somewhere.
@commentlife it seems to have gotten a bad rap from players over the last few years but I really enjoyed it as well
@huyi I buy so many games in physical format over digital because the price is often better. You can find some great deals new or used.
@Ico1977 thanks i got it!
