Three more PS4 games are going the way of the dodo, or at least are leaving the PS Plus Extra and Premium subscription services. Injustice 2 (Extra), LEGO Harry Potter Collection (Premium), and Batman: Return to Arkham (Premium, US only) will all be departing for greener pastures on 16th May.
Sony's subscription services regularly rotate titles in and out, refreshing the catalogue to keep the list as enticing as possible. A whopping 32 games will be leaving the various tiers next month, so if you have the time to spare, it might be worth making sure none were titles you'd been planning on playing.

I think Lego Harry Potter is also on Extra. Surely, it’s not just leaving Premium?
Its all a marketing ploy imo. I bet these games will be played more this month then they have in their entire run to date. They'll be back next year or when they want to push something else.
That aside, no subscription service should ever replace your own library. Use it as a tool to try out new games that you would never pay for.
@LifeGirl yes! 100% i don't rely on the service for games that require a lot of energy and time sink, i already have these games on disc, im not loosing anything apart from convenience, this is how the service should be approached and i hope gamers today realise this fact that games you really love should be able to be played offline like the ps2 days where you had TIME to finish the game you were currently playing
I'm in EU and those Batman games were unavaibale before but now they just turned up. So I could download and play it until that specific date. Seems very odd I think Harry Potter has been in essential( 2002. november) so it won't disappear for me and for lots of others, just for new subs since that date.. Injustice: I don't really mind, I don't play fighting games.
This is why I buy the games I want
I love the value of PS Extra, I played all games I wanted so they can keep removing all of them if they want to.
So far I loved the games they add every month.
I dont know why people whine about this.
Thats why you buy those games.they are on sale on psn for cheap or you can buy them cheap on ebay brand new physical copie.word up son
I realize the discontinuation of games from the service is part of reality and it makes for a way to rotate in new games, but I’m not sure how I feel about them announcing game departures at random times during the month. It makes it feel like they can just pull the plug on a game at any moment. I mean, we still have 3 weeks to try out these games, but why didn’t they announce these three when they announced the other 32?
As far as new games, they announce games that are being added all in one monthly announcement so it’s predictable and we know what to plan for. These drip-feed announcements of games being pulled is unsettling. Get the monthly adds and take-aways all together and let us know once a month, please.
Isn’t it now a whopping 35 titles including the three added that are leaving?
I missed plague tale, true colours and destroy all humans on gamespass but I didn't cry about it, I had my chance.
People are losing their minds on Eurogamer that games are being removed from plus.
Did I miss something?
This is the main problem with subscription services, those who joined recently may have planned to play these titles first so losing them part way through the game may give a bad impression going forward. I think Sony should include leaving dates on all the games withing Extra/Premium, they have obviously signed the contracts for these game so should have access to how long they will be on the service, so how hard can it be to just include that in the games page on the store.
I have been saying just this for as long as there have been subscription services. These are not permanent archives in any way shape or form. The rotation is part of the business model and it confounds me why some people get so enraged about titles coming and going.
Of course, Sony is doing it so they can make more money, that is literally Sony's main focus in this industry. Mr. Sony wakes up every day and says...actually says..."How can I make more money today"
And before anybody starts going on about "anti-consumer" this or "slap in the face to the fans" that. Just know that no matter your opinion on how it "should" work you are wrong.
Finished remastered Arkham Asylum last week and currently halfway through Arkham City. Around 25 days to get City done is plenty. Would like to be finishing off RE4remake and playing Burning Shores right now instead but Arkham City is a great time and needs to be done first. Subscription services for ya
Thankfully I already own all 3 games! Still though I do appreciate the warning.
@grapetrap
I'm not sure why people get upset either. Sony add to replace them, and I mean, how dare the developers only give it to Sony for a a while so they can make more money. It's almost as if they're a business thar needs to make money 🤣
@Anthony_Daniels
No, there's a few games that I have missed but eh, I've got too much in my BC anyway lol
@LifeGirl exactly but that's a good thing. I have so many games in my backlog that i use the games that are leaving that month as a guide on what to play if i like anything that's going to go. It works
