… And so the marketing onslaught begins! This year, EA Sports FC will replace the long-running FIFA franchise as the flagship football video game available on consoles, and here’s your very first taste of the title, with a full reveal scheduled to follow in July. So far, the juggernaut publisher’s focusing solely on the logo, which is inspired by the triangle shapes footballers adopt in matches, among other things.
“Our new brand identity is inspired by the triangles that have been part of EA Sports football for the past 30 years, from the isometric polygons that make up our game to the chemistry triangles that exist in Ultimate Team to the player indicator across every match,” the official website confirms.
The logo will be on display in over 100 matches starting this weekend, as EA Sports prepares to flex its marketing muscle and make its new branding known. “Football fans will see the new brand identity in the wild for the first time through EA Sports partners, including the Premier League, La Liga, Bundesliga, Serie A, Ligue 1, WSL, NWSL, CONMEBOL, and more.”
You can sign up for more information on the game’s official website, and you’ll be notified once the big reveal drops in July. To be honest, though, it sounds like you’re not going to be able to move without seeing EA Sports FC marketing fairly soon.

I hate FIFA and EA equally.... it has been quite the conundrum, trying to pick a side in this stupid feud.
I might just go play bowls.
I take it its the "ultras" look EA are going for, seems fitting given they are financial hooligans.
Absolutely adore football but even I don't bother with fifa. Shame what happened to PES, that was my go to when fancy a bit of footy sim
@Smiffy01 I have to agree this screenshot looks like they are promoting hooligans.
@Smiffy01 It's labelled as "merch" in the press pack.
With COD going team green I'd have to assume Sony is going to put extra effort into maintaining the marketing rights for this other moneymaker. EA is probably going to advertise overtime as well to ensure everyone knows of the brand change.
Fifa died for me when it all became about ultimate team. Loved career mode but it's beyond stale these days.
To think someone's been paid a bucket full of cash to "design" that logo.
Takes me back to Design Technology class in secondary school when we had to design our own corporate logos. I made Universal Cinemas (no relation to Universal Studios intended) which was the word "Universal" in Arial Bold in black with a black star above it, all in front of a fiery background. Looked more like a poster for a late 90s club night. Anyway, 14 year old me could design that logo.
@Smiffy01 agreed. The days of ISS Pro and PES were footballing game good times. I always preferred Winning Eleven if only because of the superb commentary.
I’m sold.
God, what a bland looking logo.
I just hope it does better than whatever the clowns at FIFA are knocking up.
The logo looks pretty bad.
Then again I've never even touched a FIFA game, so I doubt I'm the target audience.
@Monstermash40 You don't like it? I think it's pretty good.
Oh just now FIFA has bad optics for you ea!? Should have already been dropped in the 90s.
@BlaizeV Career mode is better than ever. They fixed the whole negotiation aspect and its infinitely better.
It annoys me how many people choose to slate EA. They're an amazing part of the games industry and should have way more respect for their contribution.
Couldn't they of come up with a better name for the game.
Its a bit of a mouthful.
Fifa was fifa. It just worked.
But I won't be going around going fancy a game of ea sports fc. Hahahaha
I also think the logo is quite good!
@Bez87 I imagine a lot of people will end up just calling it Eff Cee.
@nessisonett Great to see a fellow Celtic fan in this website.
The Switch version is going to be another Underwhelming “Legacy Edition.”
@JONOFTHEJONS Fingers crossed for Saturday ☘️
@get2sammyb I agree on the logo but...
Eff Cee hahaha I guess time will tell.
Its quite funny how no matter where you are, if someone says do you like Fifa no one ever thinks of the footballing governing body but just the game. I wonder how long that will take to scrub from peoples minds to then calling it Eff Cee.
I'm quite looking forward to seeing how drastically different it ends up being. Especially since EA said that Fifa was holding them back.
I doubt it of course but you just never know.
