Rebooted pinball sim Pinball FX has received a ton of new content today, including two free tables for everyone. Joining the existing Wild West table, you’ll unlock a second original from developer Zen Studios, the fantastical Sorcerer’s Lair, as well as a classic from Williams in Fish Tales. These are both free for everyone to download and try, on both PS5 and PS4.
But today also sees the addition of an absolute avalanche of other content, including remastered versions of several Marvel Pinball tables, and an entirely new crossover board with Crypt of the NecroDancer. On top of that, there’s a new Godzilla vs Kong bundle, and the acclaimed Twilight Zone makes its debut, too.
We know debate is still raging about this reboot, but that’s a lot of new content, and should at least go some way towards winning back fans. We’re particularly excited to try out Crypt of the Necrodancer, but we also can’t wait to spend some time with Twilight Zone – it’s an absolute classic table, that one!

I’ve been a fan of ZEN pinball’s different incarnations for many years, but this reboot has been messy. There’s a lot of fun to be had here, for sure, but I think I still prefer Pinball FX 3 and the Farsight pinball collection at this point.
I'll stick with Demon's Tilt.
Most importantly for me, this update has TATE mode. I can finally turn my TV sideways to get a better view of the tables.
Too bad the tables are so expensive. I already own a lot of tables in Pinball Arcade and Pinball FX3, but those games didn’t have a vertical orientation option, despite having it in their Switch versions. Now all I have is the three free tables in this one. I hope they have deep discounts on the rest at some point.
I'll say it: VR when?
@NEStalgia after the 60fps performance patch.
@Smiffy01 🤣🤣
The new game is PAINFULLY slow to start on my PS5. I need to time it, and compare it to FX3 (running off my external SSD, which is much slower than internal storage). The new in-game menu is uglier, clunkier, and a LOT slower than FX3. There's nothing I've seen that would make me want to re-buy any of my tables - heck, there's not much I've seen to make me want to download them if they were free, to be brutally honest. I don't like this version at all, yet.
That could change, and I hope it will. If they add PSVR2 support, I'll be interested. And I'll have to look at wall mounts, because flipping my TV 90 degrees to play these on a vertical 65" would be AWESOME...wonder if there's even room to do that trick on my wall, at the height I prefer...??
Doesn't matter they are still unethical, i will never buy any of those tables full aware that they will take the license and fob people off smh
