The kontents of Mortal Kombat 1’s first DLC Kombat Pack may have been accidentally outed by Amazon Italy. The retailer went live earlier today with a list of six playable characters and five Kameos, despite the information not being officially konfirmed by publisher Warner Bros or developer NetherRealm Studios yet.
The kontent is as follows:
Playable
- Quan Chi
- Omni-Man
- Ermac
- Peacemaker
- Takeda
- Homelander
Kameos
- Tremor
- Johnny Cage
- Khameleon
- Mavado
- Ferra
It’s still unclear exactly how Kameos will work, as Johnny Cage is already konfirmed to be a playable kharacter in the main game, with a Jean-Claude Van Damme skin available. Obviously Omni Man, Peacemaker, and Homelander would be krossover characters, the latter two of which have already been rumoured before. But we’ll still need to wait for official konfirmation on this apparent leak.

Homelander and Omni-Man? Hell yeah, hopefully Starr and Simmons are voicing them.
Omni-Man, please have a fatality holding them in front of a train
Loving the Jean-Claude Van Damme/Johnny Cage nod to the history of MK.
@EchoRange you want me to relive that trauma again?
Mavado as in the reggae singer?
I dunno. Getting the DLC line-up before we get the base kharacter line-up seems sort of weird to me. This DLC line-up doesn’t get me going, even though I pre-ordered the base game today. MK11’s crossovers are sort of hard to top, but these are decidedly less interesting to me. I hope the base roster is more interesting (at least, in my opinion, of course). Please Reptile, Smoke, and Noob!
Perhaps this leaves hope that Reptile will show up in the base roster (hopefully more Ninja than Lizard).
It is very satisfying to read MK kontent with the proper spelling throughout. Thank you Sammy!
Gotta say Homelander would be awesome if true.
Khameleon is coming to the game?! Finally!
Peace maker the show was great
These are top tier, relevant bad dudes to add to the game. Love it. Not even a fighting game fan but always enjoyed MK in bits.
Homelander and Peacemaker would be a great additions. Homelander is such a d*ck. Would fit in perfectly. I dont know much about Omni man apart from what ive read. Looking forward to this MK.
@EchoRange @WallyWest I'm mega hyped for Omni-Man personally. Only seen the first 2 or 3 episodes of The Boys: Season 1.
@trev666 Agreed, looking forward to Peacemaker: Season 2! You think they'll have Shazam cameo in it?
Peacemaker and Homelander have taken my day one buying to a 100% definite. Preordering the Premium Edition. I can’t wait!
Gotta love DLC before the game releases. Can't wait to see the Jean Claude van Damme skin. Makes me want a street fighter movie game again, that game should be rebooted.
Why do we need vuest characters in a game with tons of main characters that we still don't know if they are in the game? To be honest I don't know any of them!
Personally I’m long since sick of these guest characters and I don’t even actually know who any of these are so it feels like they’re really scraping the barrel.
I guess the reality is I’m fighting a losing battle because people seem to love them, they sell and they’re only gonna get more prominent as kombat pack after kombat pack is dominated by them. That would literally be 3 already!
@Totheteeth Scraping the barrel? Considering The Boys, Invincible and Peacemaker are all hit shows not really.
@Totheteeth its time you got to know who they are ,youre missing out
@WallyWest To be honest I have also no idea what those shows are and who those characters are. I vagely remember this Peacemaker from an old Suicide Squad comic but still they are not known and unimportant. It is not that they would have the Flash as guest.
Previous Mortal Kombat games had Joker and RoboCop but I don't care about those guest characters. Even though I don't like the direction of the characters Mortal Kombat has enough interesting and diverse characters its own.
When I saw Homelander on the thumbnail I thought it was a joke. Hilarious to think he's gonna be a Mortal Kombat character somehow.
@belmont Sure but The Boys and Invincible are big popular shows, The Boys is one of the biggest shows Amazon has and is currently filming its 4th season. Both are also two big popular comics as well.
Round 1 fight!
@belmont This is Mortal Kombat - a hugely long running and much loved fighting series. Since they started doing this, it often feels like people care more about which strays from some comic or horror film are going to be in them. What that actually seems to do is take up 4 or more slots which could be (should be) given to characters from Mortal Kombat … and there are ALWAYS some massive omissions from the roster which irritates fans of whoever they decide is out of favour.
Perhaps they should just make a fighting game full of characters from other media
@belmont Because no matter how many people complain, the guest selling characters are best sellers. Boon had said in the past the horror characters sold like crazy
@belmont @Totheteeth Appreciate you both may not of heard of them, but The Boys, Peacemaker & Invincible are all massively popular current hit shows.
Peacemaker from the James Gunn Suicide Squad sequel has his own show also helmed by Gunn. So it's not like they are obscure or irrelevant. All are great shows and I would urge you to watch The Boys especially, it's fantastic. They are also hyper-violent shows, which completely fits in with the Mortal Kombat vibe and a pretty natural fit. I can see how purists may think that it's a bit of a sell-out and prefer a roster of just MK characters, but I don't think the game ever took itself that seriously did it?
Also apologies for not using K on my c words.
@Gooseman42 (Although the reality is that, as a long term fan, I’m just not that good at the game … I’ll accept the mantle of a ‘purist’.)
I think the concern is that this started out as the odd guest character (was it Kratos?). Now that it’s becoming a feature which grows in scale and prominence with every iteration, it’s long since begun to become quite irritating. You have fans clamouring for characters to be re-introduced to the games. You have Ed Boon trolling fans with fake teases about those classic characters but not making them happen. Then you have this constant barrage of what now seems to be as many guest characters from other media as they can shoe-horn in there.
The guy who pointed out that it sells is right I think. That will be why they keep doing it and it becomes a bigger feature every time. Then again - the cash grab dlc packs are sold as bundles mostly (unless you want to pay well over the odds). Buying a dlc pack which is literally half non-MK characters feels kinda wrong yknow.
I don’t know who this lot are and people are telling me they’re well known and good fits. But it can’t be said that it hasn’t been getting a little bit ridiculous at times. They added Rambo to MK11 for gods sake! Were fans calling for Reptile, Smoke, Havik, Cyrax? Or were they all out there begging for Rambo to be added to the game?
I absolutely love MK don’t get me wrong. But the roster has been getting weaker and weaker. In the last one basically all of the new additions were non-runners. Since the advent of the ‘kombat kids’, that’s another 3-4 slots taken up by samey characters with a nondescript military person with guns vibe. I just think there are a lot of fans out here who want quite a few classic characters to make the roster seem exciting again and adding in another 4+ random dudes from various media outlets isn’t exactly a step in that direction.
@WallyWest To be honest I simply don't watch much stuff snd do not follow the relevant news. I personally watch only Marvel and DC comic stuff and I even missed that Peace Maker had a show. He and the rest of the Suicide Squad are some of the most bland characters ever so I don't think I would watch it anyway. And since the Arrowverse ends and most Marvel shows seem to be more comedic than they should I may run out of stuff to watch.
@Totheteeth I couldn't have said it better myself. Fans ask for old characters to return and get Rambo and Terminator instead while iconic characters from the Mortal Kombat games are not in some of the decent games. As a fan there are some more stuff I don't gat like the de-sexualising characters or making them act like idiots. And also don't getting me started on Ed trolling the fans.
@Gooseman42 The shows may be good but why would I have to watch a show to understand a character in a totally unrelated IP? It is not the same universe. I get that I may have to watch Iron Man to better enjoy the Avengers but to watch a show in a streaming platform that is not even available worldwide to get why a character no one is interested appears in Mortal Kombat instead of Cyrax, for example, makes no sense. I could get one and only guest character if it was iconic like Kratos or Joker but Peace Maker is not needed, Mortal Kombat has Striker which seems similar.
Edit: So, I saw the characters that are already confirmed. There are many iconic characters like Sonya that have not been announced yet we have Peace Maker announced. I don't get it
@belmont Suicide Squad bland? Even tje awful 2016 SS film had colourful characters like Harley and Boomerang. Peacemaker though is from The Suicide Squad film directed by James Gunn who made the Guardians of the Galaxy films, its a fantastic film with great characters and the Peacemaker show was a spin off from that film, its on Amazon Prime i think so if you sub to it i recommend the film it you have yet to watch it. Also if you do have Prime and don't mind graphic violence then i can't recommend The Boys enough, easily one of the best comic book shows out there and a perfect show if you're burnt out on Marvel and DC, its a very adults only show but its very smart and very satirical on are corp driving world.
@WallyWest I never really liked the Suicide Squad characters but it may just be me. The concept was interesting though. I keep forgetting that there is a second Suicide Squad film, I may have to watch it. I have watched the first two Guardians of the Galaxy films. I don't like them that much. I have not read the respective comics so I don't know if this is present in the source material but in comic book I don't like them being a joke when the characters are constantly joking and they don't treat a serious situation as a serious situation. The Avergers films, the Snyder films, the recent Batman movie didn't have this issue and I enjoy them a lot more. I don't like this joking/self parodying/satirical stuff.
Amazon Prime is not available in my country but, starting from when Amazon released Lord of the Rings, they offer only the video service at a lower price. I am not sure if they have all their shows available since they slowly translate and add them. I may have to check them.
@WallyWest The Boys, Invincible, and Peacemaker are popular, sure but they are still kinda niche. Just Amazon Prime in general is kinda small potatoes next to some of its peers in the streaming service market and that's where two of these shows are from.
And the Suicide Squad is already side characters, so any spin-off of a side character from a movie about side characters is only going to have so much reach, even if the great James Gunn is involved.
@zupertramp I mean are they niche? Prime is pretty popular and The Boys is one of its biggest most popular and critically acclaimed shows and when Invincible was being shown you you couldn't move for Omni Man stuff online, hell the hype around it is why i checked it out to see what the fuss is about.
End of the day guest characters sell more then any other character and Invincible S2 and The Boys S4 are coming within a year, i expect the DLC will nicely tie in for when the shows drop.
@Totheteeth While I can understand your frustration at crossover characters stealing the show (I do agree Rambo was a weird choice), all three of these characters would fit right into the world of Mortal Kombat. Especially Omni-Man and Homelander. Look up compilation scenes with either of these two on youtube and you would see that it's not that farfetched of an inclusion. Possibly Peacemaker too but I havent seen the show, just his role in The Suicide Squad.
@belmont Dude, we get it, you're ignorant to the media these crossover characters are pulling from. Just because YOU don't know about them doesn't make them unpopular/uninteresting and ALL of this is rumors, literally NONE of it has been confirmed except for the Van Damme skin for Johnny.
@WallyWest they seem like cult favorites honestly. Nothing against that either, just not sure these are tentpole titles. Like there's Predator and Terminator type guest characters, then there's Omni-man. One of these is not like the other. Homelander definitely fits MK, however, even if The Boys isn't really my thing.
@GeneJacket To be fair the discussion shifted from this but what I and some others said still stands. Guest characters from unrelated IPs are not needed in Mortal Kombat and a lot of fans don't want them since MK has enough diverse and iconic characters on it own. So, a part of the fans prefer characters from the series backlog and not guest characters.
@Brydontk They still aren’t part of MK so if they’re going to ‘steal the show’ can we not just make a fighting game for people from assorted other media and leave Mortal Kombat alone?
@Totheteeth Well then people would just put out an accusation that it's an MK or Smash Bros clone.
@belmont Define "a lot of fans".
You're only speaking for yourself, and the only pushback NRS has ever received for guest characters was for putting Raiden in Injustice 2. These guest characters sell very well, bring the games a ton of good press, and the studio clearly enjoys doing them...the only person mad about them, it would seem, is you.
@belmont I know you’ve put a lot of effort in to that reply, but all I can say is that you are taking Mortal Kombat games far too seriously and investing in a bit more media content awareness wouldn’t be an adverse thing for you to understand why these characters are a good fit. However, somehow I don’t think mine and other replies are going to change your mind. Which is fine, it’s your opinion. I hope you still manage to enjoy the game for what it is. You know, stupid glorious gory fun.
@Brydontk @GeneJacket Oh I really don’t know about that. Do a Reddit search and you’ll find a pretty consistent trope running through them of fans who don’t want the guest characters.
As for people moaning that my proposed alternative game is a clone … I don’t care. It would remove the nuisance from Mortal Kombat and I would have to pay attention to the chat about that game. Angel face emoji.
@Totheteeth Reddit is not even remotely representative of the actual player base of these games. MK11 sold 15+ million copies, no one is losing sleep over what a couple dozen guys on reddit think.
Actually, let me amend that first part. Reddit isn't actually representative of ANYTHING, ever. A good rule of thumb is that if any community on reddit is up in arms over anything, those people are a fraction of a fraction of a fraction of a fraction of the total people engaging with that thing.
@GeneJacket Quite right. Only Pushsquare with its chorus of ‘I’m not buying it because it has micro transactions’ and ‘I’ll buy it in two years when it’s fully patched and cheap’ is representative of the player base of gaming.
