The best-selling PS4 game on PS Store last month was The Last of Us: Part II, and that's both in North America and Europe. At first it seems quite surprising, but when you consider the enormous success of HBO's TV adaptation — not to mention a heavy discount — it all starts making sense.
The remainder of the PS4 charts are mostly made up of reliable favourites like Minecraft, FIFA 23, and Red Dead Redemption 2. However, we do see the odd appearance from more recent releases, like Dead Island 2 and Resident Evil 4.
On the PS5, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor dominates both NA and EU charts, with Dead Island 2 coming in second on both. Also in the top 20 are other heavy hitters like EA Sports PGA Tour and Resident Evil 4, but we're pleased to see the very enjoyable Dredge sailing as high as 10th in the European chart.
In terms of PSVR2 games, Creed: Rise to Glory Championship Edition is numero uno in NA, while Pavlov VR takes the top spot for Europe. These two swap places in the opposite charts. As for free-to-play games, Fortnite and Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 predictably dominate.
You can peruse the full charts on the PS Blog. Which games did you buy digitally last month? Tell us in the comments section below.

Wonder how many units the series has sold now after the HBO series and PC release
What a game! Better than the first one by a mile!
Curious, what is “look for the light” a reference to?
@Vacuumator the fireflies.
The first time I played part 2 I liked it, the second playthrough i loved it. Can't wait for part 3, if they make it.
@Vacuumator Its originally a saying of the fireflies but also a theme from the second game
It's a great game. While everyone was moaning about leaks and story and some boycotting, I was far to busy playing and enjoying it on release day to care much about what anyone else was thinking
I finally got around to playing this last month, having put if off due to spoilers at launch. I can understand why many don't like it as it forces us deal with exceptionally difficult emotions, and if you can't find any empathy you're never going to get on with it.
But personally I think it's an utter masterpiece. No game has ever made me feel the way TLOU2 does. Brutally brilliant. Similar to watching a movie like Requiem for a Dream or Schindlers List. I certainly wouldn't want many games or movies I watch or play to be like this, but i'm glad a few are.
Batman Arkham Knight made the top 20 in both regions. Did I miss something recently?
Anyway, what will it take to get a 60fps version on PS5? I am prepared to beg.
I STILL haven't played Last of Us 2. It's been sitting on my shelf for such a long time lol.
@Americansamurai1
Thanks, been a while since I played, completely slipped my mind.
It’s one of the best, if not the best game that I’ve played. I would have thought I would have remembered this. I suppose I’ve not played it in three years, so there is that.
Although I didn't like where the story went, I thought the game play was amazing. I remember setting a bomb/mine and two enemies came along having a conversation and set the bomb off. The only thing remaining was their legs pretty crazy
@Atreus97 My best guess is that Arkham Knight's sales are including the people redeeming it from the PS+ Collection, though if that's the case I would frankly expect that other games from the collection would be present aside from Mortal Kombat X... Regardless, I'm right there with ya hoping for a PS5 patch on Arkham Knight.
Man, I waste a lot of time…I mean wisely use my time to enrich my life by reading this site, and I totally missed Dredge. On to the wishlist it goes.
TLOU 2 is a masterpiece. Who would have thought you would have fought your beloved character as a boss? The climax and that flashback with Joel in between are really strong. Haters just talking nonsense. While they can hate for different reasons, it was pathetic they bring LGBT as a main reason for their hate while that theme has never been part of a major plot.
probably selling last of us part 2 for £9 is helping
@Atreus97 last of us 2 can already run at 60fps on ps5 it got a ps5 patch
My favorite game, and I’ve been gaming since day one of gaming, lol. If you haven’t played it yet, it’s time!
Even though I have the Ellie Edition, I couldn't pass up the digital version of TLOU Part 2 for $10.
60fps and gyro aiming makes this a joy to play on PS5, along with TLOU Part 1.
@trev666
Batman Arkham Knight
@themightyant "forces us deal with exceptionally difficult emotions"
We're lucky they didn't force us to play as Abby with the golf club.
Live A Live didn't chart and neither did FF Pixel Collection.
You guys disgust me.
I've been playing Live A Live since its release and I am at the final chapter.
That game is outstanding.
For all JRPG fan, that is a must-play and must-own.
Amazing, played through it 3 times since launch on ps5.
Ellie's revenge mission did drag on a bit near the end but I really enjoyed TLoU2. Absolutely brutal in places.
@mrbone It's sad you think that the haters are just people complaining about the LGBT stuff. Most of the complaints is just in general to the story, ending and characterization including its handling of revenge as a theme. Trying to dismiss this all as people just hating the inclusion of LGBT characters is disingenuous.
The story was the worst thing about the game for me. The gameplay and the world building made me get it and play through it, so I gave it 5/10.
The dumb revenge story was just pure shock value and nothing more.
They could've killed Tommy and have Joel go the revenge path and Ellie was trying to stop him. Or he wanted to continue the revenge cycle and end it in order for Ellie to not get "corrupted". But no, we got Dina that was cool but had ZERO chemistry with Ellie ... so boring! That is why people loved the first game, because of the chemistry between Joel and Ellie.
@JAMes-BroWWWn I think the average jrpg fan owns both a switch and a ps4/5, which is probably why live a live hasn't done better.
As for final fantasy, I guess each game is charting individually, and people are upset that they missed out on the handful of physical copies that got made.
@Heavy_Artilery LMAO OMG ROFL OH GOD STOP MY SIDES HURT
It’s a decent game but not as good or iconic as the first. The pacing was all over the place.
Sort of disingenuous to be saying a television show or news stories about the tv show or nuances in the game's boosted sales.... this game was being sold for $4.99 during the time period reported. High sales at 90% off or whatnot is the more reasonable explanation.
@Konks hasn't it received similar discounts in the past? It's been dirt cheap for quite a while now. Yet it never performed so well (apart from the first few months) until the HBO show came out and boosted sales.
Edit: Also, where did you get that number from? According to psprices, the lowest it's been sold for is 9.59 USD.

@Zuljaras what lol ? No one would care if Tommy died, he literally had 40 minutes of screen time LMAO
@doggy029 The fictional character Joel would. Abby and company while searching for Joel instead find Tommy and decide that is a fine way of sending a message of Joels past coming to get him.
But no, the incentive to play a character that has severe trauma and still want to go on a killing spree is somehow better
Also let's not forget that they LIED in the promo trailer when they put Joel in the place of Jesse "I can't let you do this alone." Pure shock value that is all.
I picked this up after reading plenty on the internet I probably shouldn't but went in with an open mind and I was hooked, I always think story narrative direction won't agree with everyone but for me it's been a blast even after enjoying the first so much.
I refuse to play TLOU2 for the same reason for not playing Uncharted 4 again, horribly annoying character... whether it be Nathan's brother always running away or Ellie whining, crying and throwing temper tantrums like a spoiled brat. The greatest sin of all is calling the end such an awesome conclusion. Bull Schmidt. It is the same old fight found at the end of every Uncharted game. If TLOU2 focused solely on Abby's story, I'd probably would have made 7 or 8 runs like the original.
I love this game, its better than part 1 in every way for me personally. I'm not sure why I get so much satisfaction when I see other gamers trashing it online tho. I guess everyone really wanted that safe "Adventures of Joel & Ellie" sequel they didn't get LOL.
Lol! Bc it's been on sale for $10. The story is (7/10) but everything else is high quality (10/10).
@ItsBritneyB_tch thought that was pretty true of the first one, as well
