Update: After leaking earlier in the day, Team17 has since confirmed that, yes, Blasphemous 2 will launch on PS5 from 24th August, 2023. You can check out the release date trailer embedded above.
Original Article: A hastily uploaded PS Store trailer has seemingly let the pixel art cat out of the bag: Blasphemous 2 will release on 24th August on PS5. This was clearly intended as a Summer Game Fest announcement, but a page on Sony’s digital storefront includes a previously unseen trailer with the aforementioned date at the end. Whoops!
The sequel will, of course, pick up where its predecessor’s Wounds of Eventide expansion left off, “where The Heart in the Sky heralded the return of The Miracle and foretold the birth of a new miracle child”. The official website adds: “Dive into a perilous new world filled with mysteries and secrets to discover, and tear your way through monstrous foes that stand between you and your quest to end the cycle once and for all.”
We assume there’ll be more information about the game, including pre-orders and prices, once this announcement is officially official. But in the meantime, you can pretty much bank on that date being accurate – in fact, you can watch the trailer for yourself if you search for it on the PS Store right now.

I was just saying to my friend earlier, "Something like Blasphemous II would be great on Project Q, but who knows when that will be out....."
😌
Who knows when I'll...... win the lotto?
@Shepherd_Tallon
Who knows when I will be... Happy. :')
Good news, but not a surprise, cause they discussed already a date overlap with Hollow Knight 2. Looking forward to preorder it.
Am a souls veteran but got to the first boss (that i found) on this and found it virtually impossible. Not sure if you supposed to fight it later, but bounced off and didn't pick up again.p
Looooved the first one, will lap this up. Yummy yummy Catholic guilt gameified.
I had a really good time with the first one, I’m excited to see what they’ve come up with.
These games look great, but I just can't get over the dunce hat...
The first one was OK but there are so Many of these metroidvania roguelike clones. Once you have played one, you have pretty much played them all. This genre is so heavily over saturated at this point.
