Ever since CD Projekt Red said that Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty would be its biggest ever expansion — in terms of developer resources, not scale — we've been wondering how much it's going to cost.
Historically, the Polish company has placed enticingly low price points on its DLC offerings. The Witcher 3's two expansions, for example, were priced at just £8 / $10 and £12 / $15, respectively. You could also grab both together as part of an Expansion Pass for £20 / $24. Undeniably amazing value all round.
Anyway, Phantom Liberty's going to be a bit more expensive. The expansion is now up for pre-order on the PlayStation Store, and it's tagged at £24.99 / $29.99 ahead of its release on the 26th September. Just to be crystal clear, you'll need to own Cyberpunk 2077 in order to play Phantom Liberty.
Honestly, it's about what we expected, given that this will be the only expansion Cyberpunk 2077 gets. We'd like to think that CDPR has poured a lot of effort into this one.
Do you think Phantom Liberty is reasonably priced? Plan a return trip to Night City in the comments section below.

Prob will be quite a decent size for the price hopefully. Glad to get a date finally!
Why should I give them any money after the piss poor job they did when they released Cyberpunk 2077?!
Idris can’t have been cheap!
Hopefully this makes the game into something brilliant rather than just above mediocre (after all the recent patches). The game has potential, but after the initial botch up I'm not sure how many people believe in the game still. Let's see what the reveiws are like, I'm optimistic it can only get better!
Expensive DLC for a broken game?
Where do I sign?!
I actually really liked the main game (after all those patches) and it's £16.00 on Turkey PSN so I'll probably get it there once I see reviews
I can't imagine this sells well at release, gotta give it a few months to get the bugs out.
Is this PS5 only? Funny there is no mention fo that in the article as the game is also on PS4. 🤷♂️
Fair price if its up to the standard of what TW3 offered.
@rjejr PS5, Series and PC only.
@mikeawmids didnt have a single bug when I played
When they finally got the game properly fixed, it turned into my favourite game last year and really looking forward to this expansion.
Seeing some outlets reporting confirmation that the rumored massive updates are dropping with the expansion as well. Looks like complete overhauls of skills, the police system, cyberware, and adding car combat options along with AI reworks. Sounds it’ll be worth starting a new playthrough
Cool. Can we have a release date?
If it's as substantial as it seems to be, I think it's very reasonably priced. I'll gladly get it day 1 as much as I loved the PS5 version of the main game.
@Loamy I was utterly disappointed by B&W, but only because I was expecting that you could romance the queen. The story played so much in this direction (she flirts with Gerald, they have some kind of history, she is a widdow... COME ON!!!,)
Going to add this to my must have list. I have bought very few DLC packages, but I am good with $29.99 for this one.
Interestingly, in Poland the price is lower (99 PLN, which is about 23€) on all platforms... except PlayStation.
Edit: apparently it was an error that has now been fixed and the 99 PLN regional price now includes the PS Store.
@WallyWest Thanks. I did google if after posting that. I wasn't really expecting it on PS4 (or X1 to get mentioned on PS) but thought the article could have at least mentioned it for the poor people who own it on PS4 but haven't purchased a PS5 yet. What are we at 120mil PS4 and 40mil PS5? That's only 1/3.
to much for just some upgrades. ill get it when its 14.99
@Shstrick Awesome! In that case I can finally start playing Cyberpunk when the DLC drops.
