Diablo 4's latest patch just dropped, and it compiles a fairly extensive list of bug fixes and improvements which should keep the experience of playing smooth. The biggest changes, at least for those who managed to beat the game's extensive Campaign, are targeted at XP gains. Specifically, these changes affect gains during the infamous Endgame, which should keep the hardcore happy (for a moment, at least).
The full list of patch notes can be found here, along with all previous patch notes, in a move we selfishly wish more developers would adopt. What we are most interested in, however, is the below three entries, which target specific Endgame activities, and the XP awarded upon completion:
- Significantly increased the experience awarded for completing Nightmare Dungeons.
- Significantly increased the experience gained from killing monsters in Nightmare Dungeons.
- Helltide chests now provide substantially more bonus experience when opened.
Hopefully, this move serves to make the arduous slog from levels 50-100 more bearable. It seems like XP tuning is a hot-button issue at Blizzard in recent times, with notorious Dungeons getting nerfed in an attempt to crack down on unintended XP farming during the regular levelling process.
