Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak only launched on PS5 and PS4 this year, but those who didn’t originally play on the Nintendo Switch or PC have had plenty to do. And there’ll be another enormous content drop on 24th August, as Capcom rolls up all of the title’s remaining post-release content into one gigantic – and final – patch.
That means title updates 14, 15, and the newly announced 16 will all arrive at the same time. The latter update – available from tomorrow on the Nintendo Switch and PC – will bring the events of the game to a close with a face-off against the Primordial Malzeno, but it’ll only be available to those who’ve reached Master Rank 10.
As you’d expect, the latest update will also include armour augmentation upgrades, new decorations, and plenty of regular event quests. There’ll also be a range of paid DLC bundles available at an “affordable price”. And then, once all that’s readily available, it’ll be full steam ahead to a new Monster Hunter we suspect – perhaps we may even learn more during next week’s Capcom Showcase.

Dragon's Dogma 2 reveal gave us a glimpse how Monster Hunter can look on current gen systems so I am excited! The RE Engine is probably the best thing that has happened to Capcom
Just in time for MH World 2 to be announced.... So tasty!
I've pumped 200 hours into this game and barely feel like I've scratched the surface of everything it currently has to offer, let alone the upcoming updates.
Wonderful game, though. Should keep me busy until whenever the next portable iteration of the series drops.
Might finally check this out since this is the "final" patch. Unless it's like the KISS version of the "final" patch. Will still wait for a sale. Summer of brokeness.
Will any of the updates make the game difficult. Rise / Sunbreak is way too easy.
@Ralizah I’m at MR 72, levelling becomes abit of a slog past MR 50 if you haven’t got there yet. But agree it’s a great game, even if simpler than World. Runs great too, barely found an issue.
Enjoyed it more than MH:W, especially when playing with friends. Amazing game, amazing series.. man, Capcom just knows what they’re doing these days.
Good game... but, just hoping next one actually takes full use of next gen hardware again.
I definitely did not get the "WOW" factor with Rise like I did with MH:World
With Steamdeck (and Ally) I have no need for a limited handheld version... just put it on PC (target a 4080/PS5/X) we can take it from there.
@PsBoxSwitchOwner I stopped at MR103 sometime last year.
I just hope the game doesn't take too long to pick back up when I get back to it.
On the other hand, it'll be a good opportunity to learn another weapon. That tends to be my go-to tactic when I haven't played it for months.
World 2 is going to be amazing.
@Ambassador_Kong The Endgame is where the difficulty lies especially once you pass MR100 and the harder investigations unlock what are brutal.
@Agramonte Well you were never getting a "WOW" like game with Rise considering its a Switch game, it was made for and designed around the Switch and was never meant to be Monster Hunter 6.
@Jey887 I could definitely see them revealing Monster Hunter: World 2 tomorrow!
I never got round to playing Rise much when it came out originally on the Switch as I choose to wait in case my brother got a switch for Rise but he never did.
With it being on PS though I definitely plan on getting it over the summer time especially if the bundle of the base game and Sunbreak goes on sale again.
Got hi fi rush on sale so I’m not gonna get it on the current sale as much as I would love to, I don’t have enough storage space for it currently right now.
With Wilds coming out next year I wonder if Capcom are sticking to how they have done the maps for World and Rise or if they’ll go open world.
I still have DD2 to start once I finish Dark Arisen, P3 Reload and VII remake Rebirth.
@Ambassador_Kong
World and Rise are meant to be beginner friendly MH games till you reach the master rank.
There’s where the difficulty spiked up for World, probably same with Rise.
The older MH games on the other hand are another story on difficulty
