The recent rumours were correct: Tekken 8 is getting a closed beta test in July, and you can sign up for it right now through the official website. The test will take place across consoles and PC ā PS5 obviously included ā and will feature a whopping 16 playable characters (that's everyone revealed so far) and five stages. However, it's a first come first served deal, so you'll want to register your interest quickly.
"The aim of this network test is to evaluate the network's quality as well as offering a high end game experience with our new battle system and tactics; aerial combos; new gen graphics; and destructive and interactive stages to players," reads the press release.
The beta is going to be spread across two separate sessions. The first, PS5 exclusive test begins on the 21st July and lasts until the 24th July, while the second is live from the 28th July to the 31st July. The latter will feature cross-play between all platforms.
But that's not all. The beta's trailer teases a returning character in stylish Italian exorcist Claudio Serafino, who made his debut in Tekken 7. Molto bene.
Will you be registering your interest in the Tekken 8 beta? Start thinking about the possibilities of that heat mode in the comments section below.

Interesting. Doesn't look like the beta will be available to Americans after checking for it on the US site. Maybe I missed it though?
Thanks for the heads-up, registered for PS5. With the way these things go I bet I'm too late already, but might as well try to get in.
Ohhhh CNT is closed network test. Thought Vinnie Jones was advertising it for a second.
@Uncharted2007 I signed up at tekken dot com. Not sure if Iām allowed to post the link here or not.
Hmm does this mean an October/November release? Maybe even December?
@Uncharted2007 It is.

I tried to sign up for the Beta, but there is no option for the United States (or Canada) for home country when creating an account.
@gonzilla Appreciate it. Got signed up.
@ShogunRok I think the last sentence of the article got cut off. Also I think you meant to type "molto bene". Just FYI.
Out of curiosity, who's been your favorite announcement so far?
@Melee_Ace Thanks for the comment, fixed now!
I think my favourites so far have been King and Hwoarang. King because he's always been one of my mains and I think they've made some really interesting changes to his gameplay, and Hwoarang because his new design looks really cool.
How about yours?
@ShogunRok I'd say probably Jun and Asuka because I've enjoyed their movesets and it's interesting how it seems the two are quite different now! Plus to be honest Asuka's story potential in terms of relation to the Mishimas has been wasted so it's good to see Jun back to fill that role.
But I also am glad to see Hwoarang back! He's been a favorite of mine since T3 back in the day. I'm also looking forward to see how his moveset has changed and what he takes from Baek, seems really good from what I've seen. Bonus points for not having the eye patch anymore which I frankly didn't like.
Ok, I definitely need to wake up a bit. I misread "Tekken 8 CNT"
@Blofse I'm honestly thinking a Spring or Summer 2024 release.
The fact that we're only just now getting a Beta is not a good sign for a 2023 full release happening...
