Deck 13 Interactive's Atlas Fallen is an upcoming PS5 action RPG, and in a behind-the-scenes reveal, we get a few tantalising glimpses of gameplay set in this sand-strewn fantasy world. It's a vast one, with a focus on locomotion and exploration, and its launch is sneaking up: Atlas Fallen launches on PS5 on 10th August.
The developers take what was learnt in the underrated series of sci-fi Soulslikes, The Surge and The Surge 2, and dial the speed up to 11. You can still expect titanic boss encounters and tense combat, but this is a bigger, more open world with an extra emphasis placed on exploration and mobility. Actually, in a few ways, it kind of reminds us of Forspoken in that, except that this is very much a cooperative game, with the ability to tear up the dunes with a friend always on the table.

Looks great. Hopefully it lands better than Forspoken. Loved the surge games. Happy to see a new IP!
'Morespoken'.
Seriously though, this mini vidoc has me interested.
looking forward to this reminds me off dark siders
@Toot1st It does look a lot like Darksiders, especially the desert parts of the first one.
I would have preferred more Surge, tbh, but it doesn't look bad. Will wait for some reviews on this one.
Definitely a 'wait and see' for the reviews and people's overall reaction to playing this one. Did it have much story or is it mostly just action and co-op?
That bit of dialogue they snuck into the video sounded quite suspect 😬
Cool atlas fallen gameplay looks good.word up son
On my list, see how it turns out. But Armored Core VI already eating up my Day 1 budget in August. Maybe on the GameFly list.
I’m a big Deck13 fan, absolutely loved the two Surge games. I’m sure they needed a break from The Surge’s world, but I hope they go back to it after this game. I’d love to see The Surge combine these movement skills with the things that made Surge fantastic—a brutal sci-fi soulslike with part harvesting from enemy’s limbs. I’d love to see them take notes from Elden Ring and make a larger, interconnected world (with an actual map)—Surge 2 was REALLY starting to hit on something super special!
Atlas Fallen just feels too much like a generic fantasy world that we’ve already seen… It looks pretty, but it’s just not getting me excited.
I’m sure I’ll buy it though! I want to support Deck13!
Single player experience, but also enjoyable in co op also..Sold..Going solo first though..Hope the game reviews well.
Could be a big surprise this year. Like Remnant II and the new Lords of the Fallen.
Been interested in this for a while since the first reveal trailer, may even pre-order. Heard good things on YouTube from people who got 5 hours of early access gameplay... Then again might just wait for proper reviews... Does look fun tho!!
Excited for this game. Love Darksiders 1, 2 & Genesis so interested in this game.
I have my expectations but I am ready whenever it is. Forspoken/Biomutant I enjoyed but weren't it in some areas.
