Eric "ConcernedApe" Barone, the developer responsible for indie mega-hit Stardew Valley, is teasing some minor additions to the now-venerable game. Fans reacted accordingly (despite it being almost three years since the game was last updated), swarming out of the woodwork and proving that once the 'Valley gets its hooks into you, it's a hell of a habit to kick.
On Twitter, Barone stirred up a small frenzy by casually advertising that, in addition to more dialogue, items, and a festival, there would also be secrets and, most provocative of all, "???", setting our imagination aflame.
Barone took a break from developing Stardew Valley's eagerly-anticipated successor, Haunted Chocolatier, in order to work on the formers 1.6 update. No word on when the update actually drops, but you'll likely hear the ecstatic screaming of many millions of players in unison whenever it does.
Do you still return to Stardew Valley every once in a while, just to root out the weeds and assuage the guilt of pets abandoned to a static, silent world? Let us know in the comments section below.

He should hire some people to help him! He can afford it
Awesome, Myself,Mrs,16 & 12 year old have started Asswind Farm on what we call Stardew Sunday, if its rubbish weather we all sit in our jammies, eat snacks and all LAN together....love a bit more please!
@Evilkensdad That's a very wholesome image, "Asswind farm" aside đ
yet weirdly I just cannot get into it. at all.
Ready for the new game now tbh
Love that Stardew is still being supported
Iâm scared that if I start it, I wonât be able to do anything else
I have yet to play Stardew Valley. Maybe one day I'll finally take the plunge.
I am playing Pioneers of Olive Town right now and am completely addicted... full-stop addicted.
If I play Stardew will I ever want to do anything else ever again?
@MikeOrator probably not, Stardew is much, much better. It is the best farming game of it's kind made.
I loved SV.
But I can't go back. That "I'll just play one more day-cycle before bed, my apples should be ready to harvest" loop stuck it's claws into me deep, and too many nights with too little sleep was screwing with my real life...
Maybe one day...
@dimi Yea but then you got to pay them
@PlayStationGamer3919 Dunno but he's concerned about something.
If anyone gets a chance read the book âBlood, Sweat and Pixelsâ and thereâs a whole chapter about Barone and how he made SV. Guy literally poured his life and soul into the game!
This is onto Apple Arcade this week so Iâm looking forward to playing on my iPad on the go
