Over the past few years, Sony has been leading the way in the accessibility space through its games and expansion of services. Naughty Dog titles The Last of Us: Part II and the PS5 remake The Last of Us: Part I are heralded as some of the most accessible experiences in the industry, while additional information was added to PS Store product pages to help disabled users.
Rather conveniently (though not planned), pre-orders for the PS5 Access Controller tie in very nicely with the addition of accessibility options on Game Pages here on Push Square. As announced yesterday, you can now discover the sort of accessibility options a PS5, PS4 game has thanks to our friends at Family Gaming Database on the website.

Good initiative indeed. This controller also gives me the arcade controller vibes, nice design.
I might not need the accessibility features, but there's something about this design that makes it very desirable to me!
I can see me getting one of these
Eighty coin!? For a fancy controller?
It isn't worth that, no way.
@LifeGirl the "fancy" look should not distract from its name and its purpose.
@LifeGirl it’s aimed at people with disabilities. That’s a reasonable price.
@LifeGirl you obvs haven't seen the prices of stuff with ppl with disabilities, eg a bike for a 9 yr old child say £200 ???
A child with CP £1500
@LifeGirl. It’s only ten or twenty dollars more than a standard Dual Sense and provides an invaluable assistance to an under serviced market.
I would love to see PS do a review of this from both a disabled person's POV. It would be good to get a perspective from someone who could hugely benefit from this controller.
@lifegirl It's bloody priceless for someone who's long struggled to play games because of disabilities. You need to see it from their perspective.
Able bodied people commenting on the value and design of this thing is the biggest face palm I’ve seen on the internet in at least 3 minutes.
@commentlife oh the internet is great ,in fact last week a fan was taking the **** out of ppl that need it on twitter , disgusting scumbag
Am I the only person who thinks it should in fact be limited to two per household, so you can have a complete two-stick setup?
2 hours battery life! 😂
It's so awesome that people who don't need it (yet) will buy it and at least have it as.a conversation piece or display item.
I just hope they make enough so the truly disabled can still get one.
@LifeGirl @Nintendo4Sonic I hope you two are children and thus your uninformed comments.
Please, people with special needs require custom controllers and to have them at a price point similar to regular controller is very much welcome as is any battery life as accessible custom game controllers are usually only wired.
Please restraint yourself, try to not post thoughtless LoL comments.
On another note: thank you Microsoft for paving the way years ago, for shining a bright light at the issue and having others follow.
Also, keep in mind that as you age you better hope companies are investing into specialised afordable controllers. A lot of gamers are going to enter the "senior citizen" bracket with the next gen of consoles and guess what a lot of them will need. Yup. Accessibility controller.
