Team Ninja has expanded its post-launch plans for Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty by giving a full rundown of what users can expect month to month, including both paid DLC and free updates through until 2024. With one expansion available on PS5 and PS4 already, the second and third will arrive in September and December respectively. In between them will be more content updates and collaborations with other games.
Next month, a free update introduces the second part of the Boss Rush mode alongside general feature improvements and balance changes. September brings the previously announced collaboration with Lies of P and the Conqueror of Jiangdong DLC. We're still waiting to learn more about the former, but the latter houses a new story and missions, one more weapon type, a new difficulty level and enemies to go alongside it, and new equipment and end-game content. All players will be treated to a new Wizardry spell and the usual balance and feature enhancements.
October and November house more balance adjustments and feature improvements, and there's another collaboration — this time with Nioh — in the penultimate month of 2023. The Upheaval in Jingxiang expansion rounds out the year, adding more missions, weapon types, and equipment to collect. All these updates serve to expand on a base game we thought was already excellent at launch.
In our Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty PS5 review, we awarded the PS5, PS4 game a 9/10 and praised its combat system, expansive environments, and many weapon types. "Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty is an excellent action RPG that offers an even more hardcore take on the increasingly popular Souls-like formula. It's fast, frenetic, and hits like a truck, with one of the most mesmeric combat systems we've ever had the pleasure to master. It might scare off more casual players, but those looking for a challenge, well — you can stop looking."

I think it's one of the easiest games in the genre, in case anyone is scared off because of that. Really good combat. One of the few games in the genre I really liked. Great to see all they have planned.
It might be time to start this.
I've had it since launch but could never find the time to begin.
Awesome news! It’s no Nioh 2 but I thoroughly enjoyed my time with this and could go for more. Really excited to see what this team does with Rise of the Ronin.
N.i.c.e. wo long fallen dynasty is a excellent game.more dlcs is welcome.word up son
@Lup I found it quite difficult at first because I didn’t know how to play it (and the game doesn’t really explain anything). The prologue boss seemed impossible until someone told me to wear the lightest armour because it makes parrying easier when your weight is rated ‘A’. The good thing is checkpoints are generous. I’d say it’s still pretty challenging but once you get a feel for the game it can be addictive.
I really struggle to revisit games once I have finished them and moved on to the next game. I earned the platinum trophy in Wo Long and I absolutely loved my time with it, one of my favourite games this year. However, I just cannot see myself going back and learning how to play it again or pick up on any story threads. I had my time with it, I loved it and now I am done.
It is really rare indeed that I would go back to a game, even with games I absolutely adored like Horizon, it took me a years to go back to Frozen Wilds, and even then, I replayed the original game again first.

Same for me. So when developers say they have 2-3 year plan I wait for a complete edition of game or end up never buying it at all.
I just bought it. Tempted to wait till end of the year to play it to see all these balanced.
Team Ninja knocked it out the park with Nioh 2 DLC, I’m glad they are continuing the trend.
Wu-Long is not as deep as Nioh 2 and the community pretty much agree on this. But it is a very solid game and the emphasis on parrying is extremely fun. I will be supporting all paid DLC that comes out and have been consistently playing it since release. Team Ninja are worth supporting. They don’t always get it 100% right but they treat their customers well and provide excellent DLC with no predatory loot boxes or micro transactions.
