Update: As previously announced, HoYoverse has opened sign ups for a technical test featuring the PS5 version of Honkai: Star Rail. It sounds like if you've already started on PC or mobile, cross-save will be supported, as long as your HoYoverse account is linked to your PSN. You'll also be able to continue your progress, on either PC or mobile, once the technical test ends. You can sign up by filling in the form through here.
Original Article: The highly anticipated PS5 version of turn-based gacha sensation Honkai: Star Rail will be getting a technical test, with sign-ups going live from 7PM PDT on Tuesday, 22nd August – or 3AM BST on Wednesday, 23rd August, depending where in the world you currently are.
A new trailer was also showcased during Gamescom Opening Night Live, focusing on some of the new content coming as part of the game’s next major 30th August update. There’s still no firm release date attached to the PlayStation version, but it’s expected later this year.

Any news on HOW you sign up? Through the game on pc/ mobile or through PSN?
@Recover20
If you're still curious, you have to sign up via their website.
Hi @ATaco thank you! I did manage to sign up anyway but thank you for taking the time to reply!
@Recover20 it's the only real important part of this news so it's perplexing why no site reporting on it mentions it!
"anticipated gacha" is the kind of expression that pisses me off... a lot! Because it should an oxymoron, but sadly it's not.
As an aside, I've just researched the term and I was absolutely sure before that "gacha" meant "got you" ("gotcha")... I mean, I was wrong, but it fits pretty well I'd say!
@KaijuKaiser I know now, I've looked it up. Apparently "gacha" is like the sound the arm of the toy makes when catching of those capsules.
But still, "gotcha games" fits well! : )
190k sign ups already. Good sign.
Think this game will be very big on PS5. I'm certainly more interested in it than Genshin based on what kind of game it is. Though I would have been more likely to dive straight in if it had come out this summer. Now we're getting into dangerous release territory, and the backlog only grows...
One step closer to the stars.
It's hard to tell but does this mean there is no PS4 version? I thought a few months it was announced for PS4 and PS5. Or is it just a Test for PS5?
