There's been a lot of doom and gloom surrounding Diablo 4 over the last couple of months, primarily because players have been critical of its post-campaign structure and Blizzard's approach to patches. Classes were getting nerfed, and Season 1 seemed to be a bit of a bust due to convoluted character progression. Consequently, Diablo 4 recently saw a sharp decline in active players (at least on PC, where the release Baldur's Gate 3 won't have helped), and general interest in the game seems to have waned, with viewership on sites like Twitch dropping like a rock.
But we'd like to think that Blizzard is starting to move things in the right direction. The game's latest update, patch 1.1.1, has gone down pretty well, with players praising its positive adjustments. Just to quickly recap, the update provides a series of welcome class buffs, as well as changes to how important post-game activities play out. It feels like the kind of patch that Diablo 4 was in dire need of, and now the hope is that the development team can keep the ball rolling.
Have you been back to Diablo 4 since the update? Or maybe you never dropped it in the first place? Look towards a better tomorrow in the comments section below.

I guess that is the positive thing about the server based games, you push changes until something is liked.
But that will not hide how many utterly incompetent people are working on this game. At least to the majority of players.
Everyone has to remember that some of the key folks that worked on this game have moved on. What you have now are folks that are trying to right a sinking ship.
Blizzard is a shell of it's former self.
The game feels better. Played a bit yesterday. Crowd control and renown still super suck.
I thinks it's really funny that people think they got buffed, failed to read 2nd half of the notes that all.boss After 60 got an increase in hp % ? Raising 10% allthe way up 150, so most "buffs" are not actually that great,
The CC is stil dreadful
There's a slight better feel to the game but meh, still needs serious improving or there'll be about 100 people playing season 2
I’m still playing although it’s becoming my “I have 30 mins before I have to do something else” game. I just wish seasonal characters levelled up a bit faster. I can’t see myself slogging through the same side missions, dungeons and strongholds again just to get to level 50 in season 2. It was fun the first time, it’s starting to feel like a chore the second time and unless they do something dramatically different for season 2 there will not be a third time.
PoE 2 can't come soon enough.
@RedRiot193 Till then Diablo 4 will be polished
Still having a lot of fun with it.
Next patch, they'll let you romance a druid like BG3.
I’m interested in picking this game on sale that’s for sure. Probably like a year after launch when it’s like half off but certainly all the articles on this site have intrigued me into giving it a shot so like thanks Push Square I guess?
I'm a diehard diablo 2 player and I can't believe I got suckered into buying D4. This game is devoid of fun. How can killing a million enemies in D2 feel continuously fun, and yet D4 a mindless slog? To me, it's the level scaling. Terrible idea.
Loving it to be honest but then i dont really pay that much attention to the patch notes. Its a case of ignorance is bliss for me. I've played every diablo game (apart from the mobile thing) and i like how d4 sits somewhere between d2 and d3 in terms of game play. There will be people who will say i'm wrong but i dont care as i'm having a blast. The last time i enjoyed a game this much was elden ring and everybody and their grannys moaned about that every time a patch came out that didnt align with how "they" thought the game should be. Horses for courses..
@Northern_munkey 100% agree. Diablo is a top 3 all time franchise for me and Diablo 4 is becoming one of my favorite games of all time with RDR2. Hit the 250 hour mark and still playing hours every night. I almost want to build a killer PC for it and some others. But i own all 3 consoles and am pretty set on my current setup for it. Gamers complain about everything, patches and updates is just one of the many. The internet should charge money for negativity.so happy you are enjoying it and i have enjoyed talking D4 with you on here. Keep mowing down demons!!! 😀
@HonestHick thankyou buddy 👍
No it didn't...Everyone of my friends quit by the time the second set of NERF's came out. I was a hold out until I hit 100 Eternal, then I quit....D4 is a POS...
@Zuljaras It just a way to check how low can you keep the bar before people complain. After this people will except even more and in the end you can get away with almost everything.
@Northern_munkey @HonestHick I have another view on this gamers now accept everything because they don't know better.
Having a higher standard and saying this goes to far is not a bad thing. I would go as far to say that the group of people like you that except everything is way worse.
@Flaming_Kaiser thing is i don’ t accept everything, i just accept that the world of video games has changed. I can either quit playing and find a new hobby i don’t go online and whine about, or i can suck it up and find the fun in something even if i don’t fully agree with everything about it and continue to enjoy this hobby and do my best to come here and speak as positive as i can about my experiences.
@HonestHick I thought you would no respond anymore I don't have to suck up anything.
I just don't buy these games and believe it or not I still have massive amounts of games to choose from.
This is the end of this conversation you can keep accepting these games.
Good luck with accepting your dumpster fires.
@Flaming_Kaiser good luck with what you think games should be and them turning out that way. Equal to or even better luck for convincing others we should only play what you like.
