Another day, another impressive PS5 achievement. Today it’s the turn of European tracker GSD, which has reported a 244 per cent increase in sales year-over-year on Sony’s system this July, following various price promotions right across the world. It should be noted that this hardware data only covers select countries like France, Italy, and Portugal, with major markets like the UK and Germany excluded. Of course, we know how things have been going in Deutschland of late.
So far this year, PS5 sales are up an enormous 203 per cent across the tracked GSD territories, which underlines the seriously impressive growth the system has been enjoying this year.
In terms of software, evergreens like Grand Theft Auto 5, FIFA 23, and even Red Dead Redemption 2 continue to sell incredibly well among digital and physical retailers. Perhaps of some concern to Square Enix and RPG fans, Final Fantasy 16 could only just squeeze into the Top 20, which presumably aligns with recent comments from publisher Square Enix about the game failing to meet expectations.

Again with this.
Doesn't surprise me, PlayStation is the best place to play right now.
@naruball Yea, this story was basically a misunderstanding/translation issue.
Also it should be noted that in regards to the far more important digital sales FFXVI was 4th in NA and 7th in Europe on PSN in July.
Everybody getting ready for Baldur's Gate 3 lol.
@ChrisDeku It's a shame, isn't it? Sammy brought it up in his last article, we commented on it and now he acts like he saw nothing. As someone who has been frequenting pushsquare before it was even called PS (it was move modo, I think), I expected better.
I can’t wait to see their Holiday 2023 sales later this year! Sky rocketing 🚀
@XboxTheBestBox while I’m inclined to agree that the margin between PlayStation and Xbox won’t be as large this time next gen… people said exactly the same thing about PlayStation 5 and Xbox series x this time during the Xbox one life-cycle.
@PixelDragon not true cause they leverage PC day and date and have more active users than Sony. It’s the PC making a large amount of money, hence Sony is looking to the PC more this gen when they seen the money figures for a game like say Sea of Thieves. Sony is set in the console market but that only reaches 100 million or so for them. MS can hit 55-65 million on console and 100’s of millions on PC. Not being a fanboy, just wanting to make sure you are seeing the whole forest.
They are selling so, so well: even with three positive Xbox showcases (although no real triple aaa games), Starfield and Gamepass, none of it is making a dent in PS5 sales - and Sony don’t even have many games out this year…
And fair play to Sony: I think they have improved every aspect of their offering from last gen. Hardware is superb and clearly superior to the series S (which isn’t fair on the S but as it has proven to be as popular as the X, consumers are now making that comparison between the PS5 and Series S more and more), decent optionals like PSVR and Q-Lite (upcoming), the dual sense is excellent, a digital and cheaper PS5 with no loss of software parity. I bought a PS3 (and own a PS4) recently for retro gaming purposes and man, the PS5 is miles ahead of the PS4 (and where Sony were before). Successful TV shows and movies. PS Plus has really improved; and their first party games have been excellent and high quality. Even 4K streaming is round the corner - how they have beat Microsoft there man, I have no idea…
Would like more ambition from Sony though, I do think they are playing it a little too safe at times? A lot of sequels and some new projects would be good to see.
@HonestHick MS gets 30% from every third party sale on the Xbox store. They get 0% from every sale on steam. Playing on windows is irrelevant if they get no money.
The monthly active user number is high because it counts everyone playing Minecraft, on every format. These are not necessarily consistent reliable customers.
@ChrisDeku MS makes lots of money on PC. Think about this. Nintendo sells 100+ million units and sells high numbers of first party software makes 12 billion a year. Sony sells 100+ million units and loads of first party software makes 24 billion a year. Xbox sells 60 million units and makes 16 billion a year and that’s without Bethesda and ABK. Once those numbers come in they could be in the 20’s. But let’s use my point without ABK. Does 16 billion a year on 60 million consoles seem like a company ready to leave? I own all 3 and truly don’t want either of them to leave. The fact people suggest or even wish for a member of the big to leave the business is just silly to me. Sounds like Minecraft, ABK and Bethesda were smart investments is what i am hearing.
@XboxTheBestBox well obviously, you have a view 😂
And if it was simple as MS will have access to ‘best in class’ games - it could be as you suggest. But in reality, Microsoft have made some some shocking decisions this gen in hardware, software and QAA processes (what on earth happened with Redfall? That game out between GoW: Ragnorok and ToTK: those are the standards expected from top tier publishers) - to catch up, Microsoft need to make far better strategic decisions in future to compete. They can buy all the games/publishers they want but high quality dev culture and talent needs to be harnessed in the right way. You need to check where games are at, for starters (again Redfall). So many game delays and incomplete features…Their hardware strategy has bombed (basically because it is evident that they have an inferior product to the PS5; Series X has power but no games to show it nor PSVR2 or a Dual Sense etc), gamepass has got more expensive but not necessarily better, and
all those ABK/Bethesda games will have to run on a Series S, whilst Sony can push the frontiers with the PS5 Pro et al.
I hope Microsoft does improve as it is needed for the industry but I’m coming to the view that Phil Spencer (and his team) need to be moved on for that to happen.
@PixelDragon 😂😂 it’s fine, and we all can be biased. I feel a little sorry Microsoft fans actually, hasn’t been the funnest gen for them, sure it will get better.
If that’s true about ff sales then I’m staggered.
@XboxTheBestBox What supply issues Xbox had?
@PixelDragon I am not sure they are even trying to compete anymore. Soon enough they will have a streaming stick and TV app for all smart TV’s. They basically made the Series X and S not worth buying as you can essentially buy an older console for less money and use it as a streaming box. They literally took out a huge gun and shot themselves right through the foot!
@PixelDragon It is. The issue I have is that the PS5 isn’t actually better than Xbox and I would argue that the Xbox is much more user friendly and you have access to a hell of a lot more games.
The reason that PlayStation is selling like hit cakes is down to one thing and it sure as hell isn’t to do with the amount of games or games in general. It’s about brand. Simple as that. Brand loyalty to PS is through the roof and people are thing because it’s a PlayStation. That’s what is happening and in terms of consoles, Xbox will never get that back. Far too late.
@BaldBelper78 How much costs Gamepass per year? How much costs PS Extra per year? How many games have each subs? And which sub is multiple times on discount 25% each year?
I can agree that Xbox Gamepass value is for Day one Xbox releases, but that is not cheap option in long run and finally they are dropping big game in it - Starfield. Bur to say that Gamepass is much better, that is not really objective.
Very odd when Sony has been so open about it's intentions to introduce a PS5 Pro before long. I sure wouldn't be rushing out to purchase a PS5 anymore, and I think a lot of these recent customers might be regretting their purchase as soon as that becomes available.
Oh well, you know what they say about fools and their money.
@JayJ strange take. Officially there is no news from Sony for that. But how does PS5 Pro is upsetting you?
Your statement is foolish. I would enjoy 4k 60fps with PS5 Pro. But you do you.
@REALAIS Wow, fanboys like you are completely nuts. Blocked!
@REALAIS when did I say it was better?! I said that Xbox was more user friendly and PS isn’t better. I didn’t say Xbox was better. Big difference. There are more games available on Xbox overall. Backwards comparable is better, I will say that. Be careful not twist someone’s words because its not clever and certainly not acceptable behaviour. I can agree to disagree but I don’t accept my words being twisted. Ever.
@BaldBelper78
Why is Playstation selling alot is cause people know they will get great games as they have before.
So it is about games.
The better games a console have the more it well sell.
No you can play more older games on ps5 then you can on Xbox series on backwards compatible.
@BaldBelper78 I wouldn't worry about the type of things rabid immature fanboys say or claim, they aren't exactly grounded in reality.
@REALAIS I couldn’t care less about PRO mid gen updates. They are just released for greeds sake.
@HonestHick First of all Nintendo is not a valid comparison, they have a fairly low revenue but very high profit margin model.
The valid comparison is Sony, and the valid metric is revenue vs. Costs. Is there any reason to believe that Xbox costs will be lower than Sonys? They have more studios and employees overall, they spend more on procuring third party software for subscription services. So they probably have costs similar to PlayStation Division, but significantly less revenue.
The $15b estimate for revenue is completely up to date too, includes all completed acquisitions. Yes, every studio you buy will increase revenue, but it will also increase costs. More revenue is not more profit. ABK has 17,000 employees, about triple PlayStation Division.
PlayStation financials over the last year were not particularly impressive, making modest profit, as they are selling hardware below cost and eating into profitability. Xbox as a similar business model will almost certainly be doing much worse over these same periods, and almost certainly making significant losses.
I don’t want MS to leave the hardware business at all, I actually have a series X and I had a 360 over a PS3, but I’m facing reality right now. I suspect MS are absolutely not doing well in the video game market and shareholders will not be happy, which is why MS obfuscates Xbox performance even from their own shareholders by combining them into an unrelated division.
@Neverwild It’s selling because of the brand name. I can’t say that this gen, the PS5 is blowing me away with its line up and I have both Xbox and PS5. It’s selling due to brand loyalty and that’s a huge success for Sony. Huge.
@BaldBelper78 ofcourse. Not to offer better experience for ever evolving technology? TVs/Monitors doesnt stay in same level for 6-8 years. And every product is about money, if product would not make money at the end, products would not exist. Why cant it be both at least? Sony gets money, people get better stuff, Sony can push limits even higher with more income.
@ChrisDeku MS will be fine as they have deep pockets. Nintendo is focused on its exclusives and always will be. You will never see Nintendo games like Mario on another console. Won’t happen. Xbox are focused on having as many people as possible playing games through Game Pass.
The fact that their cloud infrastructure is so strong and play so well makes owning an Xbox redundant. So that’s where they have ***** themselves in the foot from a console point of view. But MS isn’t going to drop out of the gaming scene any time soon. And I still wouldn’t be at all surprised if Game Pass turns up on the next Nintendo console.
@Powerplay94 Pretty much that.
@Powerplay94 Also, cloud is the lowest used Xbox feature. Now that should be a huge concern for them. Huge. Because any day now. Sony will announce their cloud service and if Sony gets ahead on that , Xbox really are up gaming Schitt creek without a paddle!
@BaldBelper78 Yeah when people talk about all the incredible first party games I usually ask them what exactly those games are. When they start listing off PS4 titles, I think they have lost it.
Face it, these consoles are always having to face the future. I mean everyone supposedly hated the PS3 when it launched and the 360 was heavily out-selling it for the first few years, but by the time that generation ended the PS3 had competitive sales and managed to win over most fans next gen.
Basically, Sony and it's fans shouldn't be getting arrogant and complacent, this is an industry where leadership keeps changing. At one point companies like Atari and Sega were dominating the industry.
@BaldBelper78 you sure you have a lot more games on Xbox? GPU vs Plus - plus has more games.
User friendly? Last 6 months I’d argue not.
Price rises all over - games hardware GPU all increased.
Reward points lowered.
Made the entire dashboard one big advert.
Early access now costs a premium.
Less games added to GPU this year versus previous.
I expect MS will drop out of console sales as soon as they realistically can do, because their focus will shift to cloud delivery, but honestly this depends on broadband infrastructure worldwide.
I own all 3 and I don’t think they will leave gaming, they may have deep pockets, but they are still a business, so if they can’t sell enough Xbox’s are they going to keep the outlay of R&D, production etc.
@naruball Again Push Square are pushing this narrative about how much the ps5 is failing. Honestly? I am getting really fed up of this site being so negative against playstation. Why are they continuing with this bias when they are supposed to be a centric ps site?
@JayJ can you show any Sony press release stating they are introducing the ps5 pro? I've seen lots of rumours and speculation but nothing from Sony themselves. And most people's best guess seems to be Xmas 2024!
So you think gamers are fools for buying a console now, to play games now? That they should wait another 16 months just for the off chance the pro does come out?
Plus what was the sales ratio between the ps4 and the ps4 pro? From what I understand, the pro was between 20-40% of all sales. Your average gamer/ parent had no interest in the pro model.
@HonestHick You really should go and take a closer look at PC game sales if you think they're reaching 100's of millions of PC gamers. The top selling games don't even break 50mil and as someone else said it's only games sold through the MS store and other first party games that they are making any money on from PC. While it won't be an insignificant amount it certainly isn't 100's of millions they are reaching.
Also their monthly active users are likely inflated by multiplatform games such as Minecraft requiring an Xbox account on any platform to play online so even if you're playing on PS or Switch you're being classed as an active Xbox user too.
@ChrisDeku “I suspect MS are absolutely not doing well in the video game market and shareholders will not be happy, which is why MS obfuscates Xbox performance even from their own shareholders by combining them into an unrelated division.”
MS hasn’t never done well in the game industry, and shareholders haven’t been happy since day 1. As for obscuring Xbox performance by combining them into unrelated divisions… They‘ve always have done that even during the height of the 360.
The only way Xbox is leaving hardware is if there is a change in CEOs at Microsoft, and someone who has no respect for Xbox is put in charge.
@XboxTheBestBox "Whatever its called" Its a logical conclusion to be called the PS6.... as opposed to the Xbox Series X 360 Something Z box
It makes sense that when PS5 console finally became widely available we'd see a huge leap. Tons of people had money saved and ready to go, but no console to spend it on. And Sony typically dominates Europe.
I think we'll see really high PS5 hardware sales the rest of the year and then it will settle down a bit in 2024. Switch sales holding steady indicates that the PS5 is feeding off pent-up demand of people already committed to eventually upgrading from PS4, not necessarily displacing the competition. Nonetheless a great sign for Sony, they needed to see this after the frustrating supply issues of 2020-2022.
@PixelDragon That’d be the worst thing to happen in the video game industry, I seriously don’t get why there’re fanboys who want a brand to have absolute supremacy when the best scenario is to have more competition across the market.
Currently PS and Nintendo don’t compete directly with each other, so leaving PS the absolute control of the current gen market is a dreadful scenario, we’ve seen time and time again Sony being complacent when they are the market leader, just look at the great sales they have and compare it with the latest showcase, they’re already being complacent so just imagine how they’d be without any competition whatsoever.
So sad about ff16, I finished yesterday and it’s an amazing game (top 3 ff)
@XboxTheBestBox While I agree that I don't think Microsoft will be leaving the console market anytime soon I definitely wouldn't be using Phil Spencer said it won't happen as the basis for my argument.
@XboxTheBestBox I hope they are great games. I’m sure they will do well but obviously Sony have great games coming too (and a track record, and don’t really have delays etc). Microsoft need to deliver, whereas Sony have been delivering for the two gens.
For Microsoft to catch up, better decisions needs to happen but they will need to leverage bigger games than Hellblade 2 - and maybe even Starfield, it will be ABK / next Elder Scroll games more long term, and even then: so many of those games may well get put on PS5 anyway..(especially if Microsoft cannot grow the Xbox platform enough). Sony will be delighted to have kept CoD.
@Powerplay94 services are going to slow down due to not everyone of the 70 some million Xbox one and Series consoles owners want to be a GP member. Thats why you branch out to the PC and Mobile crowd to further increase numbers. Now with COD hitting GP, that could change a few peoples mind that was on the fence. Time will tell. But Sony is watching the money MS has and is making on PC and while they are slow to dive 100% into PC day and date it’s only a matter of time in the future as game development get’s further and further expensive. Take Sony’s single players games, they are all that profitable as people, myself included thought until they showed the price of them in court. $225 million just in development and thats not even shipping or marketing. Hence the shift to this live service focus the PS5 is in. Those games are 100% coming to PC day and date. 😊
@XboxTheBestBox I hope your right about some of the games xbox have coming, will finally make my investment in my day one X worth it. I am genuinely very excited for Starfield, I have a feeling it could be special. And I'm sure hellblade 2 will be a great game. But the rest? Indiana Jones we know nothing about. Could be another redfall. Perfect dark was taken back to the drawing board, and I'd be surprised if we see that before 2026. And the outer world's 2 could be years away too.
Though I think forza will probably be a better game than gt7(as it should being next gen only), after 120 hours in gt7 vr2, racing flat screen has no appeal to me anymore.
For Sony's games in 2024, we don't know much, personally think they've been keeping a lot of secrets whilst the activision deal dragged on. Hopefully we will get some idea soon. But the thing is, whatever games we get, we know they will be quality games. Xbox has a lot to prove now. That they can keep a constant supply of great games coming, and not just GP fodder.
Oh and apart from the first few months, the Series S has been readily available in the UK. And from mid 2022 it was the same for the series x. Its not stock issues that are holding them back.
@HonestHick there’s not 70million xbox1/series owners. XboxOne users will be way down. (Just as the ps4 numbers will be a fraction of total sales).
GoWR has sold at least 11million copies call it average of £50 so it’s easily cleared development etc. plus some.
GT7 has sold at least 6million.
How much of a boost in subscription would Starfield need to cover production costs? Because there are other costs in GPU (and Plus) so it’s not the entirety of that subscription going to Starfield costs. (Which also has shipping/marketing just the same). Would you imagine Redfall recovered costs etc?
@number1024 After Starfield microsoft doesn't even have anything I care about till ES6 and I'm hoping for a new Rog Ally 2 next year so I don't need a Xbox. Next year PS5 Pro is coming out and I would buy Starfield to play it on it if I could. It's cheaper to pay for game pass at cdkeys then the pc I would have built if I did.
@ChrisDeku i agree with most of what you said. I’m an accountant, i know all about revenue and profit. The one thing you said that i disagree with is Microsoft and shareholders will be wanting to leave or unhappy. I disagree cause MS just fought in court to spend $70 BILLION dollars to further be competitive against the competition and thats not just Nintendo and Sony. Sony don’t have great numbers cause they make single player games that cost $225 million in just development cost alone, then marketing and shipping and your looking at nearly a $300 million dollar single player game on just PS4/PS5. Those games sell decent numbers but don’t make Sony loads of profit. Hence we are seeing and hearing a live service push from Sony and PS5 to get more profitable and monthly income games. I think the Big 3 are all really healthy at the moment. But MS is a $2.5 Trillion dollar company with a CEO that said his goal is to make Xbox double its revenues by 2030, that would be over $30 billion a year, Remember they don’t need all that to be profit, they have $2.5 trillion as a company, Sony needs PS money or Sony is another product smaller than they used to be which they are running out of things to cut. MS reminds people all the time that they are profitable, but when the internet trolls have their minds made up that they know something a CEO of a company don’t, we are left with having conversations about nothing. However i really like your insight and appreciate you talking industry with me in a smart and respectful way. So I enjoyed this over the Xbox is bad and they going out of business replies. 😀
@Kevw2006 “Also their monthly active users are likely inflated by multiplatform games such as Minecraft requiring an Xbox account on any platform to play online so even if you're playing on PS or Switch you're being classed as an active Xbox user too”
Thats the whole point of what MS is trying to do. Play the games you want (big user titles) anywhere you want and we make money. Now what you just said, times that by World of World, Call of Duty, Diablo, Starfield, Elder Scrolls online and many others. Thats why Jim Ryan said he see’s what their plan is. The plan is to own games players are :A playing for months and Years and B spending money on. That is the plan and a very expensive yet rock solid plan at that. Hence why i want to see Sony snag another Bungie like developer and bring those games to all platforms. It’s really a win win strategy. 😊
@PixelDragon Just about everyone here owns a ps3, but I bet most don't use it anymore.
@PsBoxSwitchOwner God of war sold in bundles and if you look at the trophy for how many beat the game you would see it’s not all that played. Still one of my favorite series of all time. Not knocking it, just some perspective. There are a total of GP eligible users on Xbox one and Series consoles that would be around 60 million or so on Xbox one and 22 million Series consoles. So again my point is growth is going to be harder at some point and they will need to look at other platforms. They soon will own King, they make this little game called Candy crush that makes more money in a day than some countries. MS intends to put that into their own storefront on mobile and of course rake in cash. I ain’t here to argue and i ain’t saying you are arguing. But all 3 consoles right now have a legit business and business strategy. None of them are leaving the industry and if at some point cloud does take over and the console and PC is the only place to play, who has the bigger names in gaming right now? It’s a toss up, but MS is on a buying spree to have their name mentioned. MS is not leaving gaming, they aren’t the Dreamcast or 3DO. They just don’t sell as many units as PS, so they go to PC and other area’s to make money. It’s smart business.
@PsBoxSwitchOwner the Subscription doesn’t need to cover the cost of Starfield right away, but it only takes someone playing it for months and months or years to keep players into the ecosystem and spending money on the services and other MS related hardware or games. Most services run at low profit for years and years until they build up the user base enough. MS don’t need day and date cost cover. They are a $2.5 trillion dollar company. They need to get players back into their ecosystem after a bad Xbox one launch. This service among 30 plus studio making games for it and the hardware is a way to do that. You don’t get to just have a bad launch and expect to beat Sony or Nintendo with one game or a service. This will take time and big heavy hitters. COD on GP is a scary good start and as we have heard from both Sony and Microsoft either side is done looking to buy more teams. I will admit i am not a huge fan of MS just throwing money into owning all the big studios in the game. But they needed to put their foot on the gas and show they are someone to pay attention to and they have done that. But Phil was right people aren’t just going to leave their PS’s behind for one good game. However with Diablo 4 and now Starfield. My PS5 might not be turned on for awhile. I do however want to play the new Switch titles coming out soon. I am going to need a vacation to keep up 😊
@deathaxe The only reason I even have a Xbox Series X is because the cost of what I would buy in parts is 4x times or 5x times the cost of a Xbox Series X. 7900 xt or 7900 xtx don't come cheap.
@HonestHick but there is not 60million active Xbox one users. It’s just False to claim that there is. Just as it’s false to say there is 100mil+ active ps4 users.
I’ve never said they would leave gaming. Hardware yes. Gaming no, and I hope they don’t. I enjoy my series S.
They may have signed off on all this spending but at some point depending on returns for Xbox division (I would not count candy crush as part of the Xbox division potentially going forward) the spending will stop.
Prices have already risen for them across the board so clearly the strategy there is changing, they have missed all the targets they set themselves for growth etc. subscription for both companies has stalled.
So starfield brings in added revenue to Xbox? So obviously when people buy GoW etc they are more likely then going to buy Plus on top, so also adds to the income.
Xbox one may have had a bad release, but Series had a good start due to PlayStation issues. But the sales are dropping off a cliff recently. So why aren’t people buying it? Why aren’t subs increasing? Especially with blizzard games about to join, why aren’t people signing up in preparation?
@PsBoxSwitchOwner Because microsoft are failing to bring out the games people care about and running other games in to the ground.
@HonestHick It's not a strategy without its flaws though, I can subscribe to game pass and play Starfield or any other Xbox first party game for the lowly price of a month's sub and then cancel it again until the next game comes out. You don't need to be an accountant to realise that that's awful for business and I'm sure Microsoft's shareholders wouldn't be happy if it became widespread. You may say it's win win but it's also a very risky and expensive strategy to maintain that could come back to bite them. Yes, they have stated the importance of a steady stream of first party games but those games are going to appeal to different people. Someone that plays Starfield may not necessarily be someone that plays Forza so may not sub again for months until something they do like comes along again.
I've said it before on other posts but for the gamers that only pay CoD game pass isn't a cost effective way to play it, buying the game outright is cheaper than maintaining a sub every month to play it, it would cost roughly twice as much playing CoD over game pass than it would buying it outright. The same could apply for any multiplayer game really.
@PixelDragon I mean to be fair Xbox Series X/S has sold nearly 25 million units so it's not that bad. They don't need to sell PS/Switch numbers, they just need the console side to compliment thier PC and mobile offer which it is doing. If the next console for Xbox does not do as well I can imagine they would revert to software and cloud only. One day in the future Sony will deem making consoles not viable. It will just be different times for diffrent busineses.
@PsBoxSwitchOwner those are fair and good questions. I would just say i don’t think gamers sign up for preparation. Lot’s of supposed big games turned out to be dud’s on a lot of consoles before. I think even as a Series X heavy users they need to prove it to even the likes of me and i am a customer. So people on the fence or not even interested will need to see the goods. Now i could be wrong, but i think that’s a fair guess. I am excited for Avowed but should i be? I don’t know, i want to be. But i will need to see more of it. 2022 had very few games and 2023 is a slow first party year for both Sony and MS honestly. But it won’t hurt Sony as they will have games that players want coming. MS has to build trust they have some killer titles coming. However many people didn’t talk about it but the month that MS won the ABK deal console say’s were up 200 plus % so maybe i am wrong with this take. Why would you not count Candy crush as Xbox. Xbox is console, PC and Mobile. It’s the branding used for all those platforms. Candy crush will make them stupid money. Mobile games in general destroy console money. They said it in public and i first guessed it. The reason for wanting ABK was K. They need a big title to crack into the mobile space and launch a store. They secured that. I am not saying there is still that many Xbox or PS4 users. I am just using it as a metric of what the best case scenario of potential subscribers would be or can be on console. PC and Mobile GP will help increase the service over time. Same for PS+ tiers. I would like to see that grow to other areas in time also 😊
@Kevw2006 you can play for 2 weeks before being charged, any gamer that is serious about SF that wouldn’t much pertain to. However all services are like that. I could do the same with Spotify, Disney+ Netflix etc etc. it’s part of subscription services terms and conditions. I agree with you 100% that if all you play is COD for the year, just buy the game. Makes no sense to use GP. However show me how buying the game hurts MS when they own ABK. However i am sure they will have GP in game perks for COD as they do for other games and if a exclusive skin on PS4 shows us anything, it’s COD players will go to where the advantage is. I kept hearing MS shareholders as to any of us have a clue what they want. I don’t, but i can play devils advocate and say they don’t want to not be in a profitable business which Xbox is and they don’t want MS out of a 100+ billion dollar a year industry when they have something good going with it. Why is it the internet don’t think that way ever? Not as popular, didn’t sound cool? The truth is we don’t know. What we do know is MS has the money to take a punch and come back. Sony doesn’t. They have to maintain this lead. They can’t go to a 75 million sold console and stay afloat and that scares me cause I enjoy my PS. However i don’t see a time where they will be that low and struggle to get active users so I think we are good there. I merely used it as a point of comparison. By the way, look at these very cool and probably already sold out Series X skin wraps for SF. Almost pure profit and again thats the power of owning this big IP’s. You have all the branding rights to them and don’t have to share. A COD one would sell out in 30 seconds.
https://www.purexbox.com/news/2023/08/xbox-console-wraps-are-launching-this-year-pre-orders-available-now
Maybe this makes me a fanboy now, but the more BS Microsoft pulls, the more I want PlayStation to crush Xbox. Up until Microsoft bought Bethesda, I didn't think this way. I wanted both consoles to do well.
Of course, it's a double-edged sword now because Xbox getting crushed will just incentivize Microsoft to buy up more publishers and damage the industry even further.
@TheCollector316 playing devils advocate here. What would you say to the players on Xbox and PC that are happy MS bought Bethesda to keep SF off PS5 for a year exclusively? Maybe they want MS to crush Sony and have games on Console and PC day and date, with a service or full game download purchase. I know this is a Sony site and your opinion is more popular than me playing devils advocate as a 3 console owner. But can you see my point? It goes both ways.
@KaijuKaiser true, I bought xbox series x because I couldn't get hold of ps5, ive still got series x but hardly ever go on it after getting ps5 so I cancelled game pass, series x is a good console but wish I had paid for the series s with the amount of use I've had out of it and saved myself a few hundred quid.
@HonestHick I don’t include candy crush/mobile etc as you can’t do genuine comparisons, just as I wouldn’t throw in Movies/shows of Sony games. I fully agree they wanted it for king said it myself too.
Investors will want them to be apart of it, upto a point. They aren’t just going to keep throwing money at it. Plus mobile is easy to divest from the console gaming section if they so wished.
People aren’t buying xbox even with starfield and FM due anytime plus various day 1 GP releases, yet Sony have had 0 releases this year, (many still cross gen that have released) and only SM2 to come. So why are PS5 sales constantly up? Admittedly recent discount helps, but that’s been offset by cheaper series X prices and of course series S.
Gamepass is currently heavily subsidised, an awful lot are getting it at conversion rates. What’s going to happen when all this stops? It will be a huge test for Xbox (it’s heading that way with all the price rises etc).
My personal worry for Xbox is how American it seems to be focusing, large amounts of shooters etc, most offers/competition are for US only.
@PsBoxSwitchOwner People in Europe and Asia aren’t buying Xbox. In America it’s 4 million units behind the PS5 and thats with Xbox admitting they took consoles off the shelves to put into the cloud data centers. Candy crush is a game, a Sony movie or show is a show or a movie. So i have to continue to disagree with that. If Sony had a huge mobile game wouldn’t it count to their games division over their movie department? We don’t know how many Xbox’s will sell when Forza which looks stunning by the way and SF release will be they aren’t out in the wild gathering any word of mouth amongst gamers not on forums like us. It’s like people on here saying Sony’s live service games aren’t going to be good. How do we know that? They might have a great game in the works. Maybe even one Bungie won’t tell them to cancel. Again not to disagree just to disagree, i am just trying to add perspective. You say Xbox is American with shooters . But they largely own 80% of the WRPG market. They just got Persona series to GP, along with Yakuza series. FF MMO is coming to Xbox, Hi-Fi Rush , Flight Sim. So i could make the case Xbox has more diversity in it’s first party than Sony. Sony on PS4 gave us all action/Adventure mostly. I am looking forward to a more diverse PS5 lineup. Not to mention Xbox has a large indie community with GP, that Sony is a little behind. Again not trying to stir the pot or whatever. Just simply saying when you really have a good conversation about it. It’s not as Doom and Gloom looking for them as the internet makes it out to be. Speaking of Doom they own that too. Hahaha 🤣
@HonestHick So you support Microsoft to buy up more(all) publishers just so all games can be blocked from ever coming out for PS5!? You just want Microsoft to spend Playstation out of gaming.
@Darylb88 more like 21 million units, and console sales have been very flat this year in particular in key markets such as Europe. It will improve for Xbox though, just need the games and a more coherent hardware strategy.
@XenonKnight no i do not want that for me and i own all 3 so i would be less effected. I certainly don’t want it for the PS only gamers. But unless you misread what i said or just asking me a question in general. The best reply i have is there is no simple answer. There’s no one answer that pleases both sides and truly there is no business side to it that has a perfect answer. Do you want PS to use its market share and money to keep games coming to its platform first and hurting Xbox and PC players? If Sony’s first party is as good as we all say it is they can more than survive with it and not need SF exclusive for a year or longer. Xbox having the weaker first party, at least at the time, that’s debatable now with the purchases. But it hurts them more than it helps PS. So is that fair? No and is it great and fair that MS said well the suits and ties want to sell Zenimax so instead of just supporting them financially and getting maybe a timed deal, they bought the whole dang publisher to have great content coming to GP and PC. So is that fair, no!!! So there’s no right answer here. But i think it’s ok to look at it from both sides and not just what it looks like standing in the PS sideline only. Which was my comment.
@HonestHick I don't disagree with you at all about any other sub service and with there being so many options available these days it may lead to people being a bit more careful about when they sub to a service and only subbing as and when they are using it. I currently subscribe to Netflix, Disney + and Prime at a combined cost of almost £40. I pay my PS plus annually so I'm not including that but if I paid that monthly too then that would be roughly up to £50 a month, at which point I might be thinking something has to go. I'm not saying that it would hurt MS but their whole strategy at the moment is to push game pass hard and it almost feels like they'd prefer you don't buy their games over subbing to game pass.
I saw those skin wraps earlier and I fully agree that they are a brilliant idea and much better for gamers than bringing out multiple expensive special edition consoles. It's something that I've been hoping that Sony would do for the PS5, they already sell different coloured faceplates so could easily sell special edition ones and make a fortune too.
@HonestHick I hate them for what they did to Starfield. But maybe I will buy it on steam to kick the Xbox to the Curb. I don't want Microsoft to buy game dev like Bethesda just so they block PS5 versions of games. Microsoft needs to learn how to make good games of there own not buy up the all the publishers. And stop fing up Halo, Gears of Wars and Fable. Microsoft goal is to kill off Playstation and Nintendo.
@Kevw2006 I have Disney +/hulu, Paramount+, Peacock, Crunchyroll, Max and use of Netflix 😁
ESPN doesn't count because it's from the Triple bundle will going Duo bundle in October 😂
@Kevw2006 i agree with that buddy. I have PS+ and GP. Truth is i only use them for the online and to discover new games i wouldn’t have otherwise played. I buy all my PS, Xbox and Switch games digitally. I bought Street Fighter 6 on PS5 and Diablo 4 on Series X and if those games were on a service, granted they aren’t. But i would have still bought them. Cause truth is i might not want those services in a month or two or year or two. But i wanted those games. If that makes sense. However i do like something else about GP that i don’t see many talk about and thats if the game is on GP and you want to buy it, you get a discount on the purchase. Granted I only ever done that a handful of times. But i do appreciate it. I just want to thank you for having a good back and forth bounce idea’s around conversation about gaming and brands. It’s hard to do these days without it going sideways and not being productive. If someone would have told me MS would have bought ABK 3 years ago i would told them they are trying to start console wars and have no idea what they are talking about and it just happened. So to say i or anyone knows what’s next in the upcoming days, weeks or years for any of the Big 3 would seem like a stretch. So please take most of what i say with a grain of salt. However i am going with the facts we have today and what has been said for the future to come. Things change fast in this industry as you are well aware of. Haha
@HonestHick just fyi for you (admittedly a smaller scale) but PSPlus also gives you savings on games too.
@XenonKnight again i don’t think you understand what devils advocate is. I know you don’t want MS to do anything that would upset a PS user or just your own personal interest. However thats not how business works. Again go to other sites and they have people like you saying Sony is bad for not doing what they wish Sony did or didn’t do. The whole idea here is, it’s complicated to have both sides happy. One thing is for sure, owning games makes sure that platform is known to have it, and that personally makes me more happy than not knowing if it’s going to be a timed exclusive or not. One thing is for sure gamers are rarely ever happy or care about what someone else might like or want. Gamers are the worst thing about games these days, and i take it upon myself to just try and talk reason with it. There’s no bad consoles or PC’s, without them, any of them we would all be worse off.
@PsBoxSwitchOwner true and i didn’t include it cause i have yet to get to use it. But you are 100% right in that it’s a thing. I play my PS a little less than my Xbox and Switch. Sometimes i think for PS I would be better off with just the basic tier of PS+, but i know as soon as i do that, I’ll regret it somehow haha
@HonestHick Why did you change your name from GreenBandit?
I didn't buy final fantasy 16, the first time since 7 that I haven't rushed out and bought a mainline one on release day.
I suppose you could argue that it's not fair that I haven't given it a chance, but when 'giving a chance' involves spending £60 on a game that I don't like the look of very much then it is debatable.
MS got lucky that Bill Gates started that pandemic! So lucky!
@Intr1n5ic cause i can and Green don’t mean the same thing to me anymore. Yet it’s still my favorite color. Just wish i owned more of it! 😊
@HonestHick You can claim devils advocate as much as you want but you have a clear and obvious bias which you've practically stated yourself multiple times on pure and it's obvious you can't handle any sort of criticism towards Xbox even when it's valid. You pepper your defensive comments with little throw away compliments and hope people don't notice but it's obvious to everyone.
Sony absolutely smashing it as usual lol.
@MrMagic fact check would disagree with you, JK! I have stated on here many many times over the years, Xbox is my daily driver, solely on the fact they make a controller with a layout that don’t cramp my hands. That is a fact and does that mean i want certain games to come to Xbox, absolutely. But does that make me less a PS fan for buying all their consoles, multiple games, services, accessories and love their IP’s? Well I’d say I’d let you decide but since playing devils advocate don’t work, I’ll answer for you and say no. Should i play more PS with a controller that makes my hands and thumb cramp? Would that make me more hardcore? I don’t know, but when we have competition in the marketplace i don’t have too. The same when we have competition in the industry you aren’t forced to buy a Xbox cause you have 2 other consoles & PC to choose. There’s no smoke and mirrors with me, like you are trying to unveil to look clever. This is a public forum. one i really enjoy and one if Sony didn’t make a controller that hurt my hands and have industry worst battery life i might be exclusive to, cause there isn’t much else with my PS4 and PS5 i dislike. Jokes on me right?
@PixelDragon I don't have a open HDMI and sometimes watch 4k blurays. PS3 can only do regular blurays. I hate using HDMI switches they don't work 100% of the times
@AhmadSumadi They are going try the same ***** again soon.
Not bad considering how much everybody and their grandma's complain about a lack of first party games or the exclusives that are no longer exclusives. Makes you wonder how much bigger the sales would have been if the ps5 was more easily obtainable from the start.@HonestHick you do you buddy and stick to what you enjoy. I dont have an xbox and i've no desire to own one either after the xbox360 debacle but thats a story for another time 👍
@SgtTruth there are certainly a lot of people who are struggling with rising costs and cost of living, no doubt. But equally there are plenty who aren’t. It feels like there is a wider gap between the have’s and the have-not’s. Even within my family and my siblings and there is a significant gap between what we earn, what we can afford, who has disposable income and who doesn’t. Feels like a wider disparity.
@HonestHick
Do you realise that Halo: Infinite very likely cost $500m? All games are expensive now, and Sony’s first party games tend to have small-medium sized core teams. Successful live service games can cost $100m+ every year to maintain.
@HonestHick So it wasn't to look less blatant when you come here to write essays about how great MS and Xbox are?
I thought the paragraphs you wrote on PureXbox were quite interesting after the ABK block in the UK, you know, the ones you quickly deleted because they read like an extreme fanboy having a complete meltdown. They certainly didn't come across as mature or unbiased.
What were some of the things you were saying that you hoped would happen to Sony and PlayStation again?
PS5 is doing well because it is standing on the back of the PS4 and, allegedly, doing everything a little better (even if the UI is a total, misery generating turd)
The fact that there are still PS4 games coming out and the PS4 had a 331% uptake recently means the PS5 has the 2nd best selling home console behind it and a potential 80 million users still to make the swap as and when the games arrive. Only thing holding back the the 5 is the lack of next-gen exclusives causing some people to pause before out laying £500 on a Pro Plus.
Sony might well be clearly in the lead, however from my point of view neither they nor Microsoft have had a particularly strong start to this generation.
I agree with John Linnemann from Digital Foundry who recently said it feels this generation is only just starting. Even then, there aren't many PS5/XSX exclusives as they keep getting ported to the previous gen systems and/or PC, which gives people less incentive to upgrade from PS4. Feels like the generation doesn't have it's own identity yet, really, especially in light of the above-average amount of barebones "remasters" we're getting which are often just lazy ports.
Perhaps it's rose-tinted glasses but for launch and first couple of years of PS3/PS4 I remember things being a bit more exciting. Obviously the PS3 was initially unpopular due to price point and Sony's arrogance about it, but it still had a strong launch lineup and forward thinking multimedia capabilities that were ahead of it's time.
Whereas with the gen PS5 so far my memories are how good Returnal is but it's now on PC too so meh, Astro's Playroom was kinda genius but has no replay value, how many times I've had a DualSense fail on me and had to send it back and I'm not rough on controllers at all, how the UI is an even less intuitive version of the PS4 (Sony suck at menus), that it's nice to play some PS4 titles like inFAMOUS: Second Son at 60FPS... and that's about it. Hardly a glowing review.
Between all the MTX, lazy ports and pandemic caused delays I'm sure, gaming in general feels pretty stagnant and uninteresting to me. Whenever I dip into the PS2/PS3 libraries I'm reminded how much more vibrant the mid-2000s were, and how maybe that was peak gaming and it's all been slowly downhill since about a decade ago.
Either that or I'm just old and jaded having been a gamer since the Master System/C64. Possibly both.
What I don’t get with Xbox is why they don’t advertise it in the UK. I see maybe one Xbox advert every few months whereas PlayStation ads there up to ten a day, especially on certain channels.
You can’t sell something if you don’t market it. Bizarre strategy
@Intr1n5ic @Intr1n5ic i never deleted any post on Push or Pure. The UK couldn’t even give the Judge real numbers or reasons why. They looked completely outclassed and outsmarted. The CMA is a joke and currently with a 0-4 record so is the FTC. They don’t have cases that they are making a case out of and wasting money. You are free to not read my comments if they hurt your feelings. No need to be upset if you don’t like what anyone says on here. Being triggered can’t be easy.
@Northern_munkey yeah man, i don’t ask anyone to buy a console they don’t want. I own all 3 cause it’s easier than just owning a Switch and PC. However if Sony continues to bring their games to PC and i feel like fighting the driver support. I could see me switching to PC or just adding on someday. The beauty of the industry is we have choices of where to play. 😊
@HonestHick Yeah you did. You were the first to comment on the PureXbox article about it back in April. Your huge block of text read like a child having a mental breakdown because someone took their toys away. You left it up for about 10 minutes before deleting it, probably because you read it back and realised how unbalanced it was.
Nothing you say upsets or triggers me. I actually find it kind of amusing watching someone jump through hoops as they try to present themselves as having no bias or agenda.
@Intr1n5ic I always find it funny when people say they have all the consoles and no bias, because they own all 3 consoles and always talk up one in higher regard than the others.
It’s almost like they have a preference, or a bias, if you will.
@Intr1n5ic I love how he's been exposed for what he is. Keep exposing it all.
@Intr1n5ic we all have some bias, i don’t claim to not. However i do enjoy and play all 3. Again you are trying to take what i say and use it for your own personal way to comment against me which is fine. I have no hard feelings towards you or your views other than i think i trigger you in some way and i wish i didn’t. Not my intent. For the 999th time i will state i game more on Xbox cause they have a controller that don’t hurt and cramp my hands, a faster layout for competitive games and thumb sticks my thumbs don’t slip off. If and big if, Sony made a controller i liked more i am not sure i would game much on Xbox. I might, but its major advantage would largely be gone. Not sure many on here and Pure don’t already know that cause i say it all the time. It’s kinda of what you have to do with gaming forums these days. It’s stating a case i shouldn’t have to, but internet trolls attack people for liking something they don’t or think you shouldn’t. Somehow i know you are smarter than to think i am just a big bias Xbox fan on here hating Sony and Nintendo, and my posts are a sneaky way to say that. My number one game of the year was Last of Us multiplayer and it got canceled or delayed. I was willing to put in 100’s of hours on that even with a controller that flat out stinks for me. What would make me more cool on here, saying i play my PS more even with my hands cramping? Would that make me and you friends, or should i say things in a positive light about the CMA that the judge torn to shreds for not having accurate numbers and asking for a 6 month delay so they could find a reason for even having a case. Sorry man, legit sorry for not being the type of guy that agrees with that. The CMA and FTC against the ABK deal looked awful and the United States of America congress grilled the FTC over this case and the other 3 they lost. So are they trolls too?
@HonestHick 🤡🤡🤡🤡
@naruball is there an article that debunks that. Not doubting you but I can’t find a thing that says otherwise.
@XenonKnight I’m exposed cause i asked you to take a non Sony approach to timed exclusives. Call me exposed then. Sony wanted to play a money game with games and MS finally said NO. Do i completely agree with that no. But it’s what they did and you cried. Flat out and said i hate Xbox and blah blah blah. But i would ask you this, do you think Sony likes you saying nice stuff about them and giving them half the money i do and have over the years since 1996, or do they pay their bills and R&D with nice comments on a forum?
@General_Disarray Exactly. This guy's informed everyone on this site that he owns every system so many times I've lost count, and it's usually right before mentioning that Xbox is great and Microsoft are doing amazing things for the industry 😄
@Intr1n5ic Microsoft is doing amazing things for the industry? Since when?!
@General_Disarray since they made a controller with more than 6 hour battery life and thumb sticks that your hands don’t slip off. Other than that not that much. Thats been my whole point. But that ship sailed.
@zekepliskin you are definitely right.
All I see nowadays on PS sites and the PS5 reddit is PS owners raving about the fantastic sales of the PS5. Have we all become Sony stockholders or something? Why is it so incredibly important to people how well their console is selling? Is it giving them some validation that they made the right purchase? It boggles my mind.
The PS5's success is due to one thing and that is the reputation and the brand strength Playstation has built up in previous generations, most notably the PS4 generation.
When it comes to games thus far in this generation, it is hard to not be disappointed. We are three years into this gen and all we've had are remakes and iterative sequels. Currently, of the top 15 highest rated PS5 games on Metacritic, only one (!) is a Sony first party game. For a company that markets itself as delivering the highest quality single player experiences from its first party studios, that is absolutely shameful. If the latest Showcase, which was an absolute disaster, is anything to go by, that is not going to change anytime soon either. Yet all I read on PS5 sites and PS5 reddit and PS5 Twitter is people high fiving each other about the PS5 sales. We need to hold Sony to a higher standard and start asking questions about the leadership of Jim Ryan and Hermen Hulst.
@Intr1n5ic do you own all 3 consoles? Cause if not then you don’t get to speak on what they do or don’t do right. You only get to complain about what you don’t even intend to own and that makes sense? I gave my money to all 3 and feel the right to have an informed personal experience on which one does certain things i like better. Seems kinda easy to follow honestly.
@HonestHick How are you any better then XboxTheBestBox? Your not. I own all three too but I don't troll purexbox.
@HonestHick I wasn’t talking about you specifically, but people who claim no bias and then show obvious bias.
I get more than 6 hours out of my Dualsense, it doesn’t cramp my hands (Xbox controllers sure do) nor do my thumbs slip off the thumb sticks. I get it, you have a controller preference, but your comments consistently show favour to Microsoft, and yeah, when you’re on a PS centric site, you will get called out for being a fanboy.
Also, owning all 3 consoles does not mean only you have a say on what they do right and wrong, I’ve went from owning 1, to 2, to 3, then back down to 2 and then 1 because I didn’t care for what the other 2 were doing. When they start doing things right again by me, then I will purchase them again. Until then, I am free to criticize any of them as I see fit, based on my own experience and observations.
@XenonKnight why does he say things that trigger you and the plastic PC box of your choice as well? Shame on him. Maybe he actually likes the Xbox more. But if he hates Sony, then don’t be on here. I don’t hate the PS.
@General_Disarray You'll have to get the full details from @HonestHick, but I think is was when a trillion dollar company with more anti-consumer lawsuits filed against them than most, started to buy the biggest publishers in the industry. I've been informed that this is fantastic for everyone and promotes healthy competition.
@General_Disarray the guy who wrote the article about SE being disappointed with FF16's sales admitted he was wrong https://twitter.com/gibbogame/status/1688408499104178176?t=zbFMC8WzO2ryzsGU5FO01g&s=19
This is what the person who works at Square Enix said: https://twitter.com/Genki_JPN/status/1688503710220169217
Can't find an article at the moment, but it's been debunked for days now.
Edit: found it https://www.ign.com/articles/square-enix-responds-to-final-fantasy-16-sales-concern-points-to-ps5-install-base
@Intr1n5ic It’s great when your 2 largest releases in a year are only happening because you decided to buy the developers that were originally making them to be a multiplatform release.
@General_Disarray i don’t disagree with that. You tried them at least and know what works best for you. Thats all anyone should want. So am i that wrong for saying i prefer the Xbox controller but love my PS? Thats bias? Is it bias i own a pair of Sony H9 headphones, the Dual sense Edge which sucks but i wanted it. A PS5, PS+, a Sony tv in the master bedroom. I mean i would like to think just cause Xbox is my daily driver doesn’t mean i don’t love my PS and have many games that i am excited to play on PS5. You are good at picking out my comments that say a narrative you want to run with, why haven’t anyone pulled my post on Pure Xbox saying how dumb it is that Xbox might not make a Pro and if the PS5 Pro is great i may even Switch it to my daily driver even with the crap controller, Is that good for your narrative?
@naruball thank you, I hope you didn’t feel I was calling you out as I genuinely wanted to know what was actually said versus what was reported.
Thanks for that.
I own more then HonestHick, RoG Ally, desktop pc, Switch Lite, PS5, PS4 Pro, Xbox series X, PS3, Xbox360 and even a dreamcast I win. Yes you do hate Playstation.
@XenonKnight jeez didn’t know we could add the old consoles in. And my Switch lite and Oled count as two now even better 🙄
@HonestHick Dude, I’m not trying to push a narrative, I’m trying to help you understand why people are calling you out as a fanboy.
Say whatever you want. But when you (not you, people in general) start consistently posting comments that are showing preference to Xbox ON A PS CENTRIC SITE, you will get called out as being a fanboy.
@General_Disarray I could see it cramping someone's hands if they have feminine hands.
@XenonKnight not cool dude, not cool.
@HonestHick I have a old laptop too.
@General_Disarray no i get that. But thats a sign of not being able to take constructive criticism towards something. I don’t care if someone on here likes what i say per se. Gamers whine, sometimes even i whine. But to just say I’m pushing a narrative is just silly, i rile the Pure guys up to, cause i am not happy with Xbox not having a Pro and the S. But they don’t talk back in a way like this. They have a way of being more mature about it.
@XenonKnight nice, i got an old laptop i bought to play Diablo 3 on. I feel more and more inclined to just go back to PC gaming. Less drama than consoles war, but more driver support issues.
@XenonKnight the funny thing is y’all don’t even know i hate MS as a company. The Xbox cause of the controller is the only thing i like and own from them. I have been an Apple fan since i was a little kid cause my cousin wrote for the daily newspaper and used a Mac and taught me to use it. Then i bought a iPod and my first owned MacBook Pro 20 years or longer ago and my house is all exclusive apple. I could care less about MS. I simply like their controller and want more games to play with it. Thats it
@HonestHick welcome to the internet. We’re not born with enough middle fingers.
@General_Disarray yeah i get it, but dude i ain’t trying to make no one mad or triggered. These are just my opinions and gaming habits. Again not my fault Sony makes controllers that suck for me. Yes i have tried some 3rd party ones and if they would have worked, i might not even buy a Xbox. But Xbox controller is something i will die on the sword for so to speak.
@HonestHick I call bs, they make 3rd party controllers that would work if that were true.
@XenonKnight see you’re allowed to take my comments on here and say things like BS or turn them into whatever you want and thats just ok. I am the one that has to buy it, wait for it to come in, test it. Then pack it all back up and return it to an amazon pick up place. So the hassle is on me twice, once having to return them and twice having people like you be a jerk with my post.
@HonestHick I honestly don't care what you enjoy playing more or how many systems you own. I called you out because the way you present yourself here is a complete contrast to the way you present yourself on PureXbox. I called you out because of the absurd nonsense I saw you write over there back in April that was filled with anti Sony rhetoric and read like a rant from an angry child, which you quickly deleted. Meanwhile, you're over here regularly telling everyone that you own and enjoy everything, often before going out of your way to defend Microsoft at every opportunity.
This was an article about how well Sony is currently doing with hardware sales, your contributions from the start have been trying to let people know how great Microsoft are doing because of the PC market. You even said in your first comment, "not trying to be a fanboy". Your position couldn't be more obvious if you tried.
@XenonKnight dude i pre ordered the Razer Wolverine thinking it was going to be the one. Thinking i finally got something good here and it’s just not good. It’s not better than the standard series X nor the elite 2. Not even sure if i liked it more than my Edge
@General_Disarray no. Not all
@Intr1n5ic again wrong. I commented on a post from someone saying Xbox is going out of the hardware business due to these sales numbers from Sony and it’s a matter of time before they go 3rd party. You forgot to include that part. You want me to pull up the post they made and my reply? Xbox is not leaving the hardware market if Sony sold 200 million consoles and NONE of us should want that.
@HonestHick Your response was supporting his point. PC is a software market for them?
@Intr1n5ic of course you have to say hey not being a fanboy but you’re WRONG!!! Xbox isn’t leaving the hardware game and they are in fact having more monthly active users and plan to double their revenue on Xbox platforms which now includes Console, PC and Mobile, this isn’t hard to gather. They were spreading misinformation about Xbox to make PS look like they are going to crush Xbox out of the Console market.
@HonestHick I didn't say they were leaving the hardware market, but look at how defensive you're getting at the mere suggestion of it from someone else 😄
I will admit something to you. I do tend to have my days of trying to correct PS fanboys with all their sales number cheering they do. Maybe that is my fault. But being a fanboy or having some sort of narrative other that having more concrete information on the industry than someone saying Xbox is going 3rd party is not something you should feel the strong need to attack me. I didn’t comment on one of your post. You attacked mine. Thats triggered. Wether i am right or wrong for saying it, i corrected his post and said nothing to you.
@Intr1n5ic cause its a false narrative. The same way on Pure it’s a false narrative to say gamers don’t want a Pro model and Xbox don’t need one to compete with Sony’s. I attack those comments at times also. Please include that in your dislike towards me at least.
@XboxTheBestBox nah, we’re gonna be busy playing Spider-Man 2, Baldur’s Gate 3 (which probably still won’t be released on Xbox by then), Wolverine, Rise of the Ronin, RE4R in VR, Stellar Blade and Final Fantasy 7: Rebirth.
@HonestHick Nobody is attacking you, don't be so soft. You were called out because of your constant defending of Microsoft here, and I specifically joined in because of something I previously saw you write that is a complete contradiction to how you present yourself here.
@Intr1n5ic if thats your take man. I ain’t going to change your mind. I ain’t stopping what i do, you do you. We can block each other and move on.
@HonestHick Phil isn't giving you one get over it, but there will be a PS5 Pro. 😂
@General_Disarray Did they say what part of next year Wolverine is coming out? What's going on with Stellar Blade there's ben no news in a long time.
@XenonKnight I’m being hopeful with those 2, but people who game on PS5 will have plenty to play in 2024 instead of talking about Starfield and Hellblade 2 all next year like certain trolls want you to think.
@XenonKnight i will be day one selling my Base PS5 for the PS5 Pro and if i could ever find a controller that i can use 80-90% as well as a Xbox controller, i will be using the PS5 Pro as my main. That hasn’t changed. Hard to say, they are saying no Pro for Xbox at the moment. But last gen PS4 Pro came out and a year later the more powerful One X came out. Could it play out like that again? I don’t know. But i am all eyes and ears for more news on PS5 Pro.
@HonestHick It's not happening for xbox this gen, it takes 3 years of planning to do a console. Phil said no in June.
@XenonKnight and that is my concern also. It take 2-3 years for a refresh like that. I agree with you there. Either they aren’t saying what they have in the pipeline hardware wise, or they simply just don’t have one. I’ve seen rumors of them going to the next generation a year earlier and i am not sure i buy that either. I could be wrong tho. One thing is for sure neither Sony or MS have shown what the base consoles can really do yet. When i start to see a handful of Unreal Engine 5 games, i will be able to make a better assessment to what upgrades are or aren’t needed.
@number1024 True, but cheaper to buy for xbox then to buy parts for a itx computer it would cost more. I don't think RoG Ally has the GPU in it to run starfield and a egpu cost $800 or more.

@Northern_munkey thank you so much for telling me that. I thought the guy to be aggressive and over exaggerated. Started to make me rethink what i even said and if i did a poor job of explaining it. Then i thought well thats odd this guy took more offense to it then the person i commented on and we talk about it and had a good conversation. Yes I absolutely minus a few on here and Pure find this to be hands down the best chat forum i have ever used. I genuinely look forward to hearing from all of you. I know i take offense to Sony getting bashed on Xbox sites and vice versus. Cause i really do outside of the controller love all 3 and think the work all of them do to bring us entertainment is something to really be appreciated and respected. Hell in my mind I’m more hardcore PS than many due to playing it for more than 45 mins i get a cramped in my left thumb something terrible. Never happened on DS4. The only issue i had with DS4 is my thumbs slipping off the sticks. I don’t like Sony sticks. That’s why I spent $200 on the edge to get more cap options. Anyways i am telling you like you need me to prove something. I’ll shut up now. I appreciate you sir. Very much 😀
@MrMagic thanks for taking the time to hunt down my comments and care so much. Follow me on instagram if you’d like. Suppose you are the 3rd person to not see me and Zunetattoguy on PURE get into Xbox debates on how i think MS should be and could be doing much better. How not having a PRO model to compete is pure stupid. Thats cool tho, i have spent more time defending how i like to game and who i like to support than a $200 controller from Sony last on a full charge.
@HonestHick i too get numb thumb from the dual sense but i never had issues with the xbox pads. If i could find a ps pad that would enable me to swap the thumb sticks then i'd be all over it but i'm not spending £200 upwards for the honor.
@Northern_munkey I bought the Edge cause I honestly thought by now they would have a few more cap options for it. Plus this will sound super nit picky but Sony must have taken a day off from R&D on this one and thats sharp squared off corners on the handles. Really? On the Edge they are rounded and feel much much nicer in hand. Yeah i see many people online like us that simply don’t like the Dual Sense layout and Size. Honestly outside of the card system in the Ui that i find annoying and mainly for me useless, that is truly the only issues i have with PS5. More of my friends game there than on Xbox or Switch. I play shooters with them on PS5 and miss shots on Xbox i would have made drunk cause my thumbs are slipping off the sticks. I regret buying the Edge, if we lived closer i would sell it to you for $75 bucks if it helped you enjoy your games better. It’s heavier so it doesn’t help much with the cramping in the thumbs for me. Got a new hate follower in MRMagic. Man i am on a roll this week of being told how i should talk and think. This whole free will thing must really upset the internet dwellers. Jeez!!!
@HonestHick just block them and dont give them a voice 👍
@Northern_munkey yeah buddy. Back to having fun and not getting sucked into silly stuff. Playing Diablo 4 now and trying to get to level 70 with Druid. I’m at 63 now. I got 4 or 5 50’s tho. So if i would have stayed to 2 i would have them both to 100.

@MrMagic i know what upsets y’all, a piece of plastic that some like more or less than others. Sad that’s what today’s youth is more concerned about. Guess this is were we are huh.
@MrMagic Mate, it's wild, and now he's playing the victim after being called out for it.
I wish I'd taken a screenshot of what was written over there because it was one of the most extreme examples of fanboyism I've ever seen on either site, literally 30+ lines of mental anti Sony ranting after the ABK block.

@XenonKnight Neither do I, but I was interested to read different perspectives from both sides during that time. I saw their article on it minutes after it went live and GreenBandit was the first to respond. Roughly 10 or so minutes later he'd deleted his post. It was quite the read 😄
Anyway, best to move on.

@XenonKnight Stop 😄
All jokes aside, I think they pass it now. The proposal has been completely revised and I don't see the CMA objecting to it.
