Rockstar's upcoming and relatively featureless port of PS3's Red Dead Redemption for PS4 has been garnering a lot of attention of late, mostly negative. We prefer to look on the bright side of things here, and an unexpected upside of the excellent Western having its multiplayer component carved out entirely means a couple of fewer Trophies for dedicated hunters to ding. Yay?
The full list has popped over on the Trophy-tracking website PSNProfiles (thanks, PlayStation LifeStyle), and it's essentially the same as far as we can tell, sans two particularly tough Trophies from the excellent Undead Nightmare DLC: Smoke that Skinwagon and Kingpin, a couple of tough cookies we're glad to see the back of.
Smoke that Skinwagon, especially, required players to survive until wave 15 of the Undead Overrun multiplayer mode, which we seem to recall being brutally difficult, but perhaps that was due to operator error.
To unlock Kingpin, you would need to fight off eight unique players during Land Grab while in multiplayer Free Roam (basic by today's standards), so admittedly, we get why that would be cut.
What do you think? Still a no? Let us know what you reckon in the comments section below and whether Undead Overrun was as hard as we recall.

“What do you think? Still a no?”
Yes and that should remain as everyone’s mentality including PushSquare.
Companies will keep getting away with this bull$hit if you don’t vote with your wallet.
I am not going to buy the game at this moment but i checked the price and in my PS app there is still no posibility to buy the game. Just to add to wishlist. Who is alike?
I've still got my PS3, the game and both my sanity and integrity, so that's a fat NO! This is just shameless and should just be burried instead of written about IMO.
Still too expensive to get right away. If it was $20 less, I probably would've bought it physically when it comes.
How dare they charge £50 for this it’s disgusting
To be fair, I would not buy it for 20 Euro's either...
It’s still charging £50 for an effortless port of an old game. I really don’t think Rock* are so hard-up they couldn’t have put a little effort into it, or charged nearer to £20 for it. Just pure unbridled greed.
I look forward to buying this!
"What do you think?"
I think I'd like to know how much they paid you, be it in cash or SharkCards, to legitimately, outside of April Fools Day, attempt to spin "substantially less features" as a positive.
Rockstar didn't invent these arbitrary trophies. You don't have to do them. Don't pretend you do.
@NinjaNicky If this has 60fps, I'd gladly buy this over the second game.
@Jacko11 I'd like to play the game though. Maybe take offense at the trophy mentality instead.
I'll probably platinum it when it's on sale. £15 or lower. I'll see you in a few years, my love
@Thirteen1355 nope, you’re part of the problem. End of.
@Jacko11 As are you, and you cannot excuse it.
@Thirteen1355 am I? Am I buying Red Dead? Nope.
Feel free to explain your incorrect statement.
@Thirteen1355 @Jacko11 I'm not convinced either of you read the first sentence of this article
@Khayl “Rockstar's upcoming and relatively featureless port of PS3's Red Dead Redemption for PS4 has been garnering a lot of attention of late, mostly negative.“
What’s your point?
@Jacko11 In having supported Rockstar in any way, you've become part of the problem, however small.
@Thirteen1355 🧢
Not sure you understand at all tbh pal.
i 100% this on PS3 and I'm certainly not doing this again, Bearly Legal trophy alone will break most people LOL
With a good boosting squad the 15 rounds trophy is actually a funny one to go for. And in my opinion, changing the trophy list doesn’t make this port less of a scam. Especially since you can buy the PS3 box version for 5€ quite easily.
@Jacko11 That's a strange way of expressing your own lack of understanding. You give Rockstar money, Rockstar is making these choices. You contributed to Rockstar's existence, therefore this problem can exist.
Great game, I hope lot's of new players can enjoy the rest of the RDR2 story like I got to.
Also its £40 not £50 for those who couldn't figure out the trans-atlantic conversion rate.
I'll be sticking to my PS3 version for another playthorugh. I've actually already unlocked all the multiplayer trophies required for the platinum, thanks to the help of a friendly stranger online and a bug that gave me XP for repeatedly shooting an opposing players corpse (cheap I know, but with the state of the multiplayer and matchmaking, aiming for max level through legitimate means would have been a study in tedium).
Sure the textures will me muddier and the frame-rate less consistent, but in the right frame of mind, there's a bit of nostalgic charm to that (I still prefer playing the Uncharted trilogy on PS3 to PS4).
Had this been a complete overhaul, or at the very least, run at 60fps, I might have opted for a purchase, but as it is (and at that price point), the PS3 version will do just fine.
I'd rather play this than a new cod, Fortnite or one of the nonstop 2D rougelite peices of crap
@Thirteen1355 what you just wrote is honestly next level stupidity and you really put it out there for everyone to see.
Good job bud.
Yea it makes me mad. I just should have waited, but no I went the hard route and did all the trophies on PS3 including the DLC mp ones. Same thing happened with The Last of Us. I go and grind through the hard ass trophies on PS3 even did the DLC ones. Then they put out the remake with that dog ass easy trophy list 🤦♂️. Lesson learned here wait 10 years to play major games if I want an easier path to their platinum.
@Jacko11 That's one way of portraying hard denial... You supported the company directly responsible, and you whine at others for wanting to play this game when you brought this company to where it is now.
@Thirteen1355 by supporting their games they spent years and years making?
And not buying shark cards or crappy ports?
Your logic is incredible. Such a smart young cookie.
@Jacko11 Yeah, by supporting the games they spent years making. You gave them money, they chose what to spend it on. I don't need to be a "smart you cookie" to understand simple logic
@Thirteen1355 you’re getting on to a completely different argument tbh and i’m not here for it.
Troll type behaviour.
@Jacko11 Still same argument. You're just trying to cause friction now. That's a cue for me to stop engaging. See ya
@Thirteen1355 thank god. Enjoy the game.
@Jacko11
Its top of the PSN Charts and likely the physical charts next week.
Companies know gamers are fools. Not even mad at Rockstar for swindling us. We accept it.
