Rockstar Games has taken to X to announce the hiring of Cfx.re, the team of modders behind Grand Theft Auto 5's popular FiveM project. That's despite banning everyone involved with the project back in 2015, the reasoning being that it featured “code designed to facilitate piracy.”
FiveM is a powerful framework for further modification, allowing for the creation of custom multiplayer servers. Cfx.re is also responsible for RedM, which purports to do the same with Red Dead Redemption 2. Embracing the creators as an official part of Rockstar moving forward is a boon for all players, who will likely reap the rewards of improved social and multiplayer aspects in upcoming projects. Talk about playing the long game, though; we wish the team all the best in their new, more official capacities!
What you you think of Rockstar bringing previously banned modders into the corporate fold? Have you used either mod previously, and if so, what did you think? Let us know in the comments section below.

Maybe, just maybe these new guys will replace the no fun guys. To be serious, some new blood with new ideas may help GTA6 be the game we all hope for and can barely wait for.
@NoCode23 as long as it’s not saints row type of ‘fun’
You always need to recognize skill and act accordingly. Being really good at something may not make people happy initially, but when they recognize your worth and your drive, nothing will get in your way.
My guess is they're only hiring them in order to prevent modding in GTA 6.
If they were more sincere about it,they would've been hiring modders before they embarked on remasters of the classic GTA Trilogy,& Red Dead Redemption,& other classic games in their back catalogue.
I've been following FiveM since release, it's been amazing. I'm hoping for some RP moments in GTA 6 online.
In othernotes I preferred GTA IV to GTA V, mainly the physics were better, especially ragdoll, yeah it was over the top but for that to be on the 360 and PS3 in the late 2000s was absolutely amazing to see.
I'm guessing the ragdoll with be more like RDR2, that was a bit more realistic.
