Update: A PR rep for Resolution Games has reached out to us regarding the upgrade path for Angry Birds VR: Isle of Pigs. Those that already own the game on PSVR can upgrade to the PSVR2 version for a fee of $9.99.
Original Story: Resolution Games and Rovio are bringing the virtual reality spin on Angry Birds to PSVR2. Titled Angry Birds VR: Isle of Pigs, the game has been on the original PSVR for several years, but will soon be available for Sony's much more advanced headset.
Launching on 10th October, it appears the game will be a relatively straightforward port, although it'll of course be making use of the PSVR2 Sense controllers for vastly improved accuracy. Playing more or less like the beloved mobile game, you pull back on a slingshot to fire various birds at precarious structures, knocking down as much as you can — including those pesky pigs. We enjoyed it in our review of the PSVR version, noting that, although it doesn't do anything revolutionary, it's still an "enjoyable experience all the same".

And this after the announcement that the first Red Matter is coming to PSVR2 as well. 😀
I know some people will say they should be focusing on new games (which is a fair point) but personally I’m really pleased we’re seeing more psvr1 upgrades as there are so many I never got to.
Hopefully they’ll announce some of the big boys soon - Astrobot, farpoint, hitman, Skyrim, borderlands, Star Wars squadrons, iron man, etc
Those who already own the game for the PS4 for the original PlayStation VR will be presented with an $9.99 upgrade option. Otherwise Angry Birds VR: Isle of Pigs will be available for purchase for $19.99.
Also unique to Angry Birds VR: Isle of Pigs PS VR2 is the online level builder which expands the amount of content exponentially, depending on the community. Sharing user generated content online was a feature not available as part of the original PS VR1 version.
Purchased vr2 at launch and although it's got a few good games I sold it and bought a quest 2 which suits my vr needs more (music rhythm games mostly)...playing untethered is just more suitable.Might pick up a vr2 again in the future and if Sony ever put out a version 2 of it I'd rather it have pancake lenses and built in speakers especially!
As politely as I can, I suggest you do not buy this awful, awful game.
@Hamst88 I agree, some of the psvr1 games would be brilliant on VR2 I think a lot were held back with the controls, my daughter loved carnival games so hoping for a vr2 version or upgrade to vr2
Angry Birds is still a thing? It's, like, so early mobile gaming culture.
@JayJ they sure fell hard and fast…. I remember one of their execs calling out Nintendo at their low point during the WiiU years….. looks Big N got the last laugh….
