In case you'd forgotten, Onimusha is making its grand return — as a Netflix series. Announced last year, the beloved Capcom series is being adapted into an anime-style show, and we've just gotten our first look at it in motion.

The debut trailer (above) introduces us to Musashi Miyamoto, a Sengoku period samurai who finds himself fighting the Genma through an impoverished Japan. Armed with a strange gauntlet, it looks like it'll be up to him to fend off the demonic threat.

Onimusha utilises 3D animation with a cel-shaded art style, and it looks quite effective in motion. The series is being directed by Takashi Miike, known for the likes of 13 Assassins, Ichi the Killer, and Audition, and is clearly not holding back in terms of blood and violence.

We reckon this looks pretty dang good — we'll definitely be checking it out when it premieres on Netflix on 2nd November 2023. What do you think of Onimusha's first trailer? Tell us in the comments section below.
