CD Projekt Red has announced a partnership with Anonymous Content — a production company that has shows like Crime & Punishment, True Detective, and Mr. Robot under its belt. Why? Well, so that they can create a live-action Cyberpunk 2077 adaptation, of course.
It's very early days, though. The press release reveals that the search for a screenwriter is underway, and the goal is to "tell a brand-new story set in the world of Cyberpunk 2077". Following on from the success of Edgerunners, we imagine there'll be heightened expectations surrounding this thing — even at this early stage.
The briefing continues: "The project will be developed in close collaboration with the Cyberpunk 2077 creative team. More information about the project will be made available as the partnership between Anonymous Content and CD PROJEKT RED progresses."
What would you want from a live-action Cyberpunk 2077 show? Question the visual effects budget in the comments section below.

If they could somehow cast Keanu Reeves and Idris Elba I would be so happy.
Wonder who will play Keanu Reeves?
I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again: what an amazing comeback story Cyberpunk 2077 has become!
@Sequel They could get that guy from John wick dude looks just like him.
@Areus Ted from Bill and Ted is another shout. Maybe a bit too young, though.
It felt perfect that it had an anime over a boring live action tbh. Hopefully they do more with the anime
Rather another anime than live action to be honest. It would take them forever just to build the sets, clothing, cars, costumes etc for a halfway decent live action. And it probably wouldn't even be as good as the game. But I would watch it either way.
Anything other than that anime crap.. Keanu better be in it
Anonymous Content has produced some truly high quality work. They are practically the A24 of tv shows, (yes I know A24 does TV too but you know what I mean) so I will be paying close attention.
Why's everyone mentioning Keanu lol, hardly makes sense for him to be in it if they wanna tell a brand-new story.
Would be dope though
@ShogunRok they could get the guy from Bill and Ted Face the Music, resembled an older Keanu. Albeit not as succesful.
Rather than the "burn half the budget for stars" approach, I'd have the show be more about the "side gigs" of night city, having them as thought provoking cautionary tales about where society is going... sorta like black mirror.
@Cherip-the-Ripper Because most people don't know that the videogame is based on and set in the world of a 30+ tabletop rpg.
