How about a healthy dose of caution to kickstart the week? Insomniac Games warned that it was probably coming, and it has: major spoilers for Marvel's Spider-Man 2 are now doing the rounds online. At this point we've seen numerous screenshots and even a few videos across social media and various gaming forums, so if you're looking forward to playing the sandbox sequel later this month, we'd recommend being very careful.
With the PS5 exclusive launching in just 11 days at the time of writing, it's a shame to see so many spoilers being spread around — but as we've said before, there's not much anyone can do about it. Broken retail dates are usually the root of the issue, as those who receive early review code — like ourselves! — are tied down by strict embargoes.
So again, it pays to be cautious. Dare we ask if you've had anything spoiled? Retreat to the bunker in the comments section below.

Such a shame people can't just appreciate the fact that they got an anticipated game early and play it quietly among themselves.
@NinjaNicky the problem usually comes on social media when folks drop them randomly into things. I was reading about football transfers on twitter and then, boom, spoiler screenshot, right out of the blue.
@NinjaNicky
Very bad take. The blame does NOT fall with the gamer who doesn't want to accidentally have a games story spoiled BEFORE it's even been released.
Spoilers are wrong and people who spoil are wrong. That's why it's so aptly named.
Let me guess: The superheroes win.
Spiderman dies...oh wait that was Avengers 😝
Folks were going through lineups on release night for the Half Blood Prince, shouting significant spoilers into the crowd. One can only do so much to avoid it. Spoilers gonna spoil. And it always sucks.
I'm not sure how you even spoil this game. I mean we all know what to expect, unless they did a multiverse twist or something. I hope they surprise me but yea avoiding anything than can spoil for the next few weeks.
The only spoilers I want to know are the review scores. Surely Pushsquare’s review won’t be leaked by these barbarians!
@Powerplay94 Shoot, you're right - I was being insensitive.
@Weebleman The problem is always social media, i hate it, worst thing that ever happened to the internet.
@Kidfried Haha, my agenda's been outed!
Technology is double edged sword. Hyperconnectivity has sadly extended reach of certain segment of humanity most would have collectively shunned in the past. Much as we like, we can't stop them anymore.
As article suggested, if you care about story spoilers, best to limit your exposure to social media and any user generated contents on the web.
@Smiffy01 i could not agree more with this
@NinjaNicky I had a massive spoiler revealed for GoW Ragnarok because Youtube recommended a video from some a**hole who put the spoilers in the thumbnail, other then cutting out Internet from my life i had no way to avoid it.
@DennisReynolds did you unleash your fury like the crashing of a thousand waves?
@JohntheRaptor We don't know Venom's role, the fate of Peter and if any key characters die as well as what other villains feature beyond the 4 revealed. Remember the first game ended with a death no one saw coming and Insomniac are quite open that they will toss the rule book if it suits the story they're telling.
@NinjaNicky What an obtuse comment. You seem to be ignoring the myriad of ways things can be spoiled without us clicking on articles related to the game/movie/book etc.
I was on a completely unrelated YouTube video and someone literally spoiled TLOU2 in a comment before the game even came out. I saw some video thumbnails that spoiled part of Starfields endgame before the game was even out on Game Pass. Just two examples but it often has NOTHING to do with us clicking on things or seeking spoilers. Agree with @DennisReynolds those that purposefully spoil others enjoyment like this are complete *****.
@Dudditz09 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
On the other hand, spoilers for Spidey games are usually predictable.
I mean, its a black suit arc, its bound to have Peter going ham and someone close to him either kicking the bucket or getting hurt directly or indirectly by Peter.
Nothing to see here!!
That's always unfortunate but tbh at this point I'm way more surprised when a game doesn't have spoilers released. Guess I'll just have to live like a hermit again for a week and a half 😑
So just release the game today 😃😃
True that.avoid it. 🕷spiderman 2 is going to be amazing.word up son
@NinjaNicky Your comment sounds like something I would say jokingly
It's very annoying that people take joy in ruining things for others. Many people had their views of TLOU2 tainted before release by out of context leaks and spoilers. Hopefully that doesn't happen to Spider-Man 2....unless Insomniac deliberately downgraded the puddle reflections again. If that's the case, someone better spoil it for me because I WILL NOT GIVE INSOMNIAC ONE ROTTEN CENT IF THEY DON'T KILL THEIR EMPLOYEES BY MAKING THEM WORK SUPER OVERTIME SO WE CAN SEE EVERY TINY BUG FLYING AROUND NEW YORK REFLECTED IN THE PUDDLES!
Ill never forget i found out iron man died in end game from a sports channel comment section lmao. I gotta go on a blackout soon
@NinjaNicky I agree all these things can be regarded as spoilers by some. But In regard to games the main difference is that trailers are something the creatives are deciding to let us see, THEY get to carefully choose what to show and what not to show. In an ideal world, where marketing was not needed, they would likely obfuscate as much as possible, to give us a bigger surprise is game. But sadly marketing is needed to sell the game and they have to 'spoil' SOME surprises. But almost always KEY plot points and moments are hidden. You might see a brief clip of a giant explosion or something else that is actually near the end of the game but without context of the rest of the experience it means little on it's own.
The difference on the internet is that people will spoil all the other things that the creatives DELIBERATELY didn't spoil. Often the biggest or most emotional points of a game.
For films it's a little different. I've personally spoken to several friends in the movie industry about trailers basically giving away the whole basic plot (though crucially not the details) and they all say the same thing. That all the metrics they have show that a large number of cinema goers prefer the type of trailer that shows them EXACTLY what they are signing up for, these type of trailers simply do better financially. I agree I don't like that personally, but I understand WHY they do it, backed by their own expertise and data.
