Blizzard has once again earned the ire of its long-suffering Overwatch 2 player base, packaging a couple of eagerly-awaited Diablo 4 skins inside the game's pricey Ultimate Battle Pass Bundle for Season 7, which is now live on PS5 and PS4.
The particular skins in question depict Moira as the demonic Lilith, Daughter of Hatred, and Pharah as the fallen archangel Inarius, central characters in Diablo lore. They look pretty good, too, which is part of the problem. Blizzard leaned on the skins in marketing material for Season 7, and fans were quite surprised to learn that the only way to unlock them was to shell out for the premium Ultimate Battle Pass Bundle, which will run you USD $40, or £32.48.
Previously, skins such as these could be earned in-game or at least through Battle Pass progression. Over on the Overwatch 2 subreddit, a diplomatic post quickly went viral, with many sharing strong, nuanced views on the current state of the game and this latest pricing news:
The Ultimate Battle Pass Bundle comes packaged with a total of nine items, which you can peruse below.
- 20 Battle Pass tier skips
- Premium Battle Pass (Season 7)
- 2,000 Overwatch Coins
- Skins: Inarius, Lilith, Pumpkin
- Highlight Intros: Be Beautiful
- Sprays: Inarius’ Side, Lilith’s Side
Are you surprised by this development? Are you willing to pony up a premium in order to dish out some destruction in style? Let us know in the comments section below.

@Powerplay94 Totally agreed I'm not touching anything from ABK. COD was already dead, Overwatch the same and I didn't even get Diablo I think I did the right thing.
"Go f$&#% yourself Blizzard"
I wholeheartedly agree.
Yeah this is basically ABK pushing their Black Cell practice from MW2 to Overwatch 2 but in a more lighter version. Next up will be Diablo 4, we just need to wait.
As usual this is all Microsoft's fault.
This is disgusting. Warzone's battle pass is £8.99 but once purchased gives you plenty of chance to earn enough cod points to unlock the next pass if you can grind it out. Diablo 4 is £8.99 too but with no chance of earning enough platinum because..well there is not enough on offer presently. So warzone may only require one purchase if its the only game you play and can stand the grind (i got bored 2 seasons in.) I'll never consider diablo 4's pass until they add enough platinum to unlock further seasons which would make it viable for me personaly. Never enjoyed overwatch so really this is a moot point for me but its a real crap move to make for the players (all 25 of them now i guess) and just shows how out of touch with reality activisionless/blizzarse has become.
Blizzard's games have WORSE monetization than straight up Activision games. Very poor value indeed. If you're outraged by this, then show it by uninstalling the game, and not just by not buying the bundle. You have to get out of their ecosystem and put that time into something else.
If you can't. You're not really all that outraged, or your addiction outweighs it, and if that's the case I'd implore you to quit based on the fact you're addicted to a video game and it is to your immense detriment.
You know, they need to bump up quaterly earnings, people are playing less. Need to milk existing players little bit more.
i miss overwatch 1 so much ðŸ˜
Remember when this sort of cross-game content was given away for free?
I'm curious as to your thought process, @Enuo, exactly how is this the fault of Microsoft?
