Elden Ring still looms large in our collective gaming consciousness despite FromSoftware's epic RPG approaching the second anniversary of its release. Tarnished will be glad to know, then, that progress on the game's in-development expansion Shadow of the Erdtree is "proceeding smoothly", but less so to know we still don't have a release date.
This update comes to us via FromSoftware parent company Kadokawa Corporation's latest financial earnings report, from which the following can be gleaned: "We are currently working hard on the development of DLC for Elden Ring, but we have not announced a release date at this time." Later in the presentation, in reference to Shadow of Erdtree, Kadokawa states that "development is proceeding smoothly".
We know that the expansion has been in the works for a good long while now, so here's hoping that when it does arrive, it's a suitably meaty offering. We've been itching for an excuse to get back to The Lands Between, and Shadow of the Erdtree would do the trick. When do you think we see a release? Let us know in the comments section below.

That would be pretty funny if both Shadow of the Erdtree and the new God of War expandalone got a reveal trailer at the Game Awards. I mean, what are the odds of Elden Ring and GoW Ragnarok duking it out at the Game Awards two years in a row?
Just take your time and deliver a corker...its all i ask.
