Some six weeks after its chaotic launch, cooperative heist game PAYDAY 3 has gotten its first patch. It weighs in around 2GB and includes more than 200 fixes, tweaks, quality-of-life improvements, and quashed bugs.
Whether it will be enough to stem the game's bleeding player count remains to be seen, but it's certainly a step in the right direction. At least on Steam, where such metrics are painfully public, more than ten times as many people are currently playing PAYDAY 2 in comparison to PAYDAY 3.
Alongside the full patch notes, Developer Starbreeze, considering its recent track record, made a bold proclamation, stating:
"Hello, heisters! After some instability, we’re finally up and running as things should be! Heisters heisting, civilians screaming, and cops floundering! We’ve got a lot more cooking; keep letting us know when you find bugs, and send us your suggestions!"

There's QoL fixes in those patch notes? Seemed more 100+ bug fixes, and, for some reason, giving everyone pre-order and special edition content?
What in the world is going on over there at Starbreeze? This patch 6 months into the game's life cycle reads like a day one patch.
Edit: I mean 6 weeks not 6 months lmao
Like my momma always said.. “You can paint a turd, but it’s still a piece of s&!@.”
I think this game is done
Just wondering if it’s worth trying it now or still waste of time.
@Constable_What I'm sure you mean 6 weeks but it sure does feel like 6 months instead lol
Anyway I'll probably just wait till the player count goes up again to give it a spin.
Dang that's sad 😔
@Cherip-the-Ripper Yep! Meant 6 weeks! Haha
