As others have said, that controller is a thing of beauty. I miss the coloured buttons.

He ain’t wrong though. I’m sure the overwhelming majority would rather play EAFC24 then FIFA94.

I don't think much of Jim's tenure so I'm glad he's left. Maybe they can get someone who actually cares about the games as least as much as profit, who will undo some of the damage he's done like closing down Japan Studio.

Since he'll never use the cool custom DualSense he's been given with the console, he'll never have to put up with it's poor battery life and tendency to contract stick drift. I seriously get better battery life out of my decade old DualShock 3 controllers, and those haven't developed drift despite being that old and used lots. Seriously, I use my PS3 more yet I only charge the main DS3 once or twice a month. The DualSense needs doing once or twice a week.

Can't say I'll miss Ryan, unless they bring in another even worse accountant. Jack Tretton, Andrew House and Shawn Layden would be my top pick for replacements - mainly 'cos they know how to engage with the Playstation audience.

Still got 3 DS3 controllers and 4 DS4 controllers - all of which seem to have a much better battery life than the DS5 (DS3s ludicrously so!)
And even the DS3 controllers are more comfortable than the DS5s, never mind the sublime DS4s. The DS5s are as miserable to look at as the PS5s funereal UI.

I won’t be buying another $500 system but the controller I would yes.

That Dualsense is so sexy!

Sony, make that PS1 themed Dualsense into production and sell it as one of the standard Dualsense color options. Why don’t you want to print money?

I'd buy four of those controllers immediately if Sony sold them.

Why though? Is not like you're giving it to someone like Shuhei or Phil who will use it. I doubt Jim has played more than 5 minutes any of Sony's first party games 🤷 (I do really need that controller though!)

20th anniversary it was PS4 Fat and 500Million edition was PS4PRO.
So probably this will be PS5 Slim 30th anniversary

It's insane how much better the classic PS1 grey and those little splashes of color makes this look and, honestly, this is what the PS5 should always have looked like.

I do not understand why PS consoles are not released in this classic color! (Colour for my neighbors across the pond)

I get tired of Sony going back and forth with Black and white consoles. The PS1 was the only grey console, but it is such a classic color that I bet 90% of PS fans would prefer it.

As soon as they released the classic grey color controllers for PS4 I snagged 2 up....HELL! I even bought Darkplates retro grey faceplates for my PS5......Guess who does not sell retro grey faceplates for PS5.....SONY!!!!! SONY!.....WHY?!?!

This is a Nintendo, out of touch with consumers, type thing that Sony has....And I truly do not know why.

If Sony and Nintendo did all their future consoles in two different colors, and one of those colors was their classic NES/SNES/PS1 colors....I WOULD GUARANTEE the classic colors would sell like gangbusters!

On eBay within months cos Jim ain't got work.

@__jamiie @GeneJacket It really brings back some nostalgia feeling thats for sure. That logo, buttons and the finishing touches on the controller cable. This setup should be available in the store.

@Flaming_Kaiser Agreed. It would sell like hotcakes. It annoys me sometimes how Sony and Nintendo do so little to play into gamer's nostalgia. I'd love to see this controller available to buy. And some SNES/GameCube themed Joy Cons.

Xbox have been slightly better at tapping into their history with the Hyperkin Duke and Xenon controllers.

@__jamiie Also Sony should make their controllers BC i love the PS5 controller but I can totally understand that people would like smaller controllers and use it for people who come around to play along.

@Flaming_Kaiser For Sony, it should be a very straightforward change to allow DS4s on PS5 games - all the buttons are present and correct. The PS5 identifies the DS4 before simply saying that you can't use a DS4 to play any PS5 games. That is a blocking limitation rather than an incompatibility.
They came up with some hooey about 'only by using the DS5 can players experience the true game changes in the PS5' but we all know it's all about the almighty dollar with the number of DS5s they can flog you.

@sanderson72 In the end all companies are here for one thing and that is to make maximum profit. But the PS4 controller are not so cheap they will lose sales or money and the PS5 controller is really better for me personally.
