Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader is a triumphant exploration of the 40k setting that launched with a regrettable number of bugs, as noted in our recent review of the game. Developer Owlcat Games has since released a major patch, which should address the worst offenders, and has promised another will arrive on PS5 in time for Christmas.
Patch 1.0.1 went live a few days ago. While not as substantial as Larian's notably large patches, several hundred fixes remain, primarily aimed at quashing bugs and improving stability. There are half a dozen that purport to fix issues affecting controller use on console specifically, speeding up interactions and ironing out UI issues.
From our limited testing, performance seems better on PS5, but we hope to see continued improvement in the next patch. It's due December 21st or 22nd on PS5, and Owlcat says it will focus on "addressing another few hundred issues, focusing on final acts of the game".

I'm still reeling from the shocking ps5 upgrade to space marine martyr. I loved that game on my ps4 so I absolutely jumped on the ps5 upgrade slapping down my £25 on a game I knew I was going to love. Uuurrgh what a steaming mess that was and the graphical upgrade was nowhere near what was promised and the framerate was horrendous. This game couldn't be worse than that could it? I love my warhammer games but I'm very wary about this.

Oh wait, it's the same website that gave Metal Gear Survive and 8...
Really excited for this one but going to give it another month or so until most of the wrinkles have been ironed out.
Its pretty good, but I ended up starting over after I had to cheese the Act 1 end boss fight. Now that I understand the mechanics, it's going better so far. No major glitches, one time I had to replay a fight as one of the enemies ran thru a wall and became untargetable.
I’m going to wait for that next patch, then get into it. If they stop the major ones, hoping for a great first foray into 40k for me.
Don't care about WH 40k universe, but enjoy the occasional deck builder. Maybe on sale down the road.
