As Sony's strategic vision increasingly grows to encompass PC players, it should come as no surprise that studios like Guerrilla would want to leverage the latest tech to make their games look and run as well as mechanically possible. The already gorgeous Horizon Forbidden West is getting a Complete Edition (due out in early 2024), and tech company Nvidia has revealed that for players with its premium graphics cards, the title will support the company's proprietary Deep Learning Super Sampling technology, allowing for supercharged visuals and performance.
Increasingly, bleeding-edge games on PC support DLSS 3, with the likes of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, Alan Wake 2, and Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty already leading the pack. The tech is exclusive to Nvidia's RTX 40 series of GPUS, which, for the really good stuff, will cost you a small fortune.
What do you think of this bold new multi-platform future for Sony's first party? Will you be checking out Horizon Forbidden West on PC when it arrives? Be sure to update your drivers before heading to the comments section below.

Cool, but not surprising given as how I am sure many new PC game releases (that don't have an AMD Partnership attached to it) will have DLSS 3 support.
It should be a given, really.
$10 it will also support FSR 3.
HFW is already a looker.....which will get upgraded in all aspects for PC well I'm curious.....
Horizon and Avatar are probably two of the best looking games out there, don't think I could afford the tech to run them at max settings though.
With the PS5 Pro probably having a hardware solution for AI upscaling and frame generation, it makes very sense to prepare the rendering engines now by upgrading them with similar, already available tech like DLSS 3 and FSR 3.
@GamingFan4Lyf It took Starfield 3 months to get DLSS officially supported.
I’m all for spectacular visuals but I found the 2nd horizon game a real let down. I couldn’t care less about the narrative and interactions with the characters. The combat is still good but I stopped playing entirely after about 2 hours.
@Arnna did you even get in to forbidden west? I found it boring up until i did. To be honest tho i must have only put 10 hours in to the game myself.
The game looks even better now there's already comparisons on YouTube
This game already looked amazing but Nixxes usually do a good job with ports so it's in good hands.
The game plays very well and looks great even in the base PS4. Too bad the story is a cliché and generic mess.
@ChrisDeku What's your point? The new games listed in this article did - in fact, DLSS 3 has been around since late 2022 and tons of games (that didn't have an AMD Partnership) got DLSS 3 support.
It's nice that Horizon got an Nvidia nod, though!
I amended my comment to include "AMD Partnership" caveat for better clarity.
I haven't gotten around to trying the expansion for Forbidden West but I may double dip and get it on PC to play through the game again and then play the expansion.
@GamingFan4Lyf That one of the biggest games of last year launched without DLSS and it's not as uncommon as you might expect. Some games are sponsored by certain companies too.
@ChrisDeku I know, but AMD Partnership has had a little bit of suspicion as AMD Partnership games curiously lacked DLSS (and XeSS) options and required DLSS mods from the community...until Starfield...which had a delay in DLSS (probably due to backlash that one of the most anticipated titles lacked the option because of AMD Partnership).
I love Horizon Forbidden West. It's got amazing visuals and a great story. Currently, replaying Zero Dawn for the plat (already got the FW platinum).
@belmont didn't know HFW was able to run on PS4. Had no problem running HZD though on a PS4 pro.
"Only on PlayStation"...
@Kidfunkadelic83 I had the same with the first game and in the end I spend 120 hours on the base game and loved it. 😉
