Gran Turismo 7 will be treated to a new PS5, PS4 patch within the next 24 hours (depending on your timezone) that will add more cars, events, and Café menus to finish off. Update 1.42 bundles in three new cars: the BVLGARI Aluminum Vision Gran Turismo, Suzuki Jimny XC ’18, and the Genesis X Gran Berlinetta Vision Gran Turismo Concept. The former will be available in Brand Central from the end of February while the latter two will be in the game once the patch is live.
As for new race events, look to the Jimny Cup and the Vision Gran Turismo Trophy. Then, two more Menus are themed around Nissan Motorsports and Dodge. You'll need to be Collector Level 46 to unlock the former and 32 for the latter. Update 1.42 is rounded out by two more Scapes; one in a Japanese service area and another inside a USA multi-storey car park.
Will you take any of these new cars for a spin in the new events? Let us know in the comments below.

Sonys very best GAAS. And Bungie wasn't involved.
Polyphony rocks
I can't say any of these are high up on my list to buy, I've got a couple of the vision cars and whilst they are rather nice, they aren't amongst my favourite cars in the game. I'll just save my credits for when the classic race cars come back into stock. Still it's nice not to have to buy a car pass to be able to access new cars as in certain other racing games
I must say after I’ve moaned for months, I’m loving the weekly races (still be nice to get more championships and trophies though). Ferrari VGT against Fiat 100s!😂
@JAMes-BroWWWn can't tell if your joking or not. But gt7 is the worst gt game yet. At least sport stuck to what it said it was. Gt7 lacks in almost everyday. Pd sold it as a return to the gt we all knew and loved, it isn't and won't ever be due to the poor races, events and missions.
GT7 is probably my favorite console race gaming, next to iRacing. But GT7 does boast some great graphics. And love it in VR. Glad to see more content.
The problem with vision GT cars is the lack of events that use them. The game needs more events overall too.
@Ernimus_Prime in terms of playtime, I think I've played all forza's more each tha I have got as they are slightly more fun. Particularly the latest Forza Motorsport which has some great physics and the feeling of lack of gripping when loosing the weight distribution etc. gt7 still feels so lifeless, but perhaps I need to dip into it again (I completed everything previously but now loads more content).
@MrGilly69 No way, it improved immensely over the last year and a half to the point of being nothing short of fantastic now. I rebought it last month and I’m over 150 hours in now - way more than I ever spend on a racing game. There’s still loads of things to do after all that time.
Yayy. Can’t wait for the Jimny! Love that car. Maybe we can mod it to a mini G class or Defender.
This update seems to have stirred up a ton of backlash online from people who don't like these cars and generally just want more racing cars in the game. Polyphony may have mis-stepped and lost some playerbase here.
@Darude84 I trued it again back around October,still want enough new content to entertain. Granted I have around 400 hours on it from launch. I went back to gt4 on ps2.
@Ricky63 it shows pd don't listen to their fans at all. Vgt cars are pointless and make the game feel less realistic. Know complaints since gt6. Most players just want a proper career mode and not them dumb menus. No idea who wants new scapes every month either. I believe more cars like those found in gt6 or even gt4 and more tracks are what people want also. I dropped this game within 5 months of launch, went back recently and didn't even bother with the new content. Not that it would take long to play said content. About an hours worth every month, this is not live service.
The game that keeps on giving! You’ve got to love Kaz and Polyphony! True support of a game bring on 8!!!
@MrGilly69
Physics are best yet. In vr2 and decent wheel it's another game altogether.
Played it every day and nothing ekse for at least 6 months after vr2 was released. Its phenomenal experience
@Ricky63
Most want decent road cars, on forums like gtplanet.
Where are the audi rs cars, m5, new m3/m4 etc.
Very few want vgt, suvs, jeeps etc. Particularly vgts. Crap silly prototypes or made up cars not that far off spaceships.
I'm confused so we're actually only getting 2 cars this update? It sounds like the 3rd car coming in February would probably come with that months update assuming they have an update. Why not just announce the car then,
Have they added an offline mode yet

Wiki defines GAAS as "In the video game industry, games as a service (GaaS) represents providing video games or game content on a continuing revenue model, similar to software as a service. Games as a service are ways to monetize video games either after their initial sale, or to support a free-to-play model. Games released under the GaaS model typically receive a long or indefinite stream of monetized new content over time to encourage players to continue paying to support the game."
Aside from the initial buy-in, there is no content locked behind season passes, all updates are free and monetization is not pushed as PD do not rely on gamers buying in-game currency to keep the game alive. GT7 does not qualify as GAAS.

@DonkeyFantasy I think it was a car ticket we got from that event and not an added new car, we've long since been given that
@DonkeyFantasy ahh OK, I guess I've got a free car then
@Theaussiegamer92 Someone tallied this a little while ago. Number of events by game:
GT4: 511
GT3: 337
GTS: 301
GT7: 236
GT2: 228
GT6: 201
GT5: 141
GT1: 59
@MrGilly69
Let me get this straight - After playing 400 hours on GT7 you've concluded it's the worst GT game ever and you have gone back to playing GT4 on PS2.
I can't take you seriously..
@tinCAT-zero I was hooked on the online with friends for some time and kept grinding 3 races in the hope of some real content. It never came so I dropped it
