How's your hype holding up for Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, then? Easily one of the most anticipated games of 2024, the RPG revival is roughly six weeks away at the time or writing, and to keep the excitement going, Square Enix has released a fresh trailer. It's only one minute long, but it's a really neat teaser of what's to come, complete with some new gameplay clips. We're loving that especially twisted Sephiroth smile near the start, too.
So, we ask again: are you looking forward to Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth? Stop Sephiroth at all costs in the comments section below.

Oh no, that's a very short game;)
Thirty seconds a disc. Wild.
I think you're missing a noun in the title. Like "trailer".
I'm not watching any more trailers. I already know too much.
Not watching anymore trailers (especially with Square's history of self spoilers). But eagerly awaiting the demo for Rebirth. Was hoping it would drop before Infinite Wealth comes out.
@Splat Agreed, there’s too much trailers already, we are only 6 weeks away so I’d rather just wait for a bit.
Wow that’s a good trailer! Hope to catch it in movie theathres before movies - would be epic
Looks amazing as usual but the trailer is nothing we haven’t seen before!
i dont understand the hype.
I played the FF7R, loved the beginning and mid bit but then got bored and finished it as fast as i could.
this looks like a dlc, same characters, same graphics, everything looks the same just with new levels. i wont bother with this one
I've not played any of FF7 yet. Is it something that I am best waiting for the final part of the trilogy to release?
I know it's completely different, but when I watched the first season of Game of Thrones, I decided not to watch any other season until the final series was out. I then watched it every night for a couple of months, and never regretted doing so. The wait between seasons was unbearable and I usually forget what has happened in the previous season by the time the next comes out (as happened every single season with The Walking Dead).
So, because I'm terrible at waiting between games and have a very spotty memory, is FF7 something I am best playing once the inevitable 'Complete Edition' is released?
@misak192 How wrong you are on every level. You must love being nasty and negative. Does it make you feel like a bigger person? Do you thrive on it?
@misak192 I swear, comments like yours really speak for themselves.
TIIIIFFFFAAAAAAAAA
@Fiendish-Beaver You do not need to wait several years to play part 3. You can play FF7 (OG) now. Each part of the FF7 Remake trilogy is built to be played as independent games. Enjoy them now and then let the anticipation and excitement build for the final part.
Pitching in with the rest of the "not watching any more of these" crowd. By now I've lost count of how many Rebirth trailers I've ignored.
I'm sold, Square. You've got me. Please let me go into the game as blind as possible.
So pumped for this game. That trailer with that epic battle music in the background....
I've never actually played any FF game, @theSpectre/ I really like the look of FF7 Remake though, but worry that I'll have forgotten what happened in the first two games by the time that the third one releases...
IMO, Remake was 2/3rds good- when they went full Nomura at the end, they lost me- the promotional trailers look great for Rebirth but I am curious how off-the-beaten-path the game goes - it does get me hyped having a new Tekken and FF coming out within a month of the other, like we are back in the 90’s - hope this one delivers 🤞
Maybe no one noticed, but at the end, it said that the exclusivity will last until may 29th. Where will FFVII head next?
This game looks amazing
@misak192 When the sequel acts like a sequel 😱
Oh my goodness, this looks fantastic.
Kinda weird how much more excited I am for these remakes of an old PS1 game than new numbered entries lol.
@Savage_Joe Probably just PC, as with the previous game. It'll be interesting to see how long it takes SE to actually cobble together a proper port, though. Even if the exclusivity period ends in May, the functional exclusivity period might well be decently longer.
Now that’s how you make a hype trailer let’s gooooo
@Savage_Joe That's been known, but I believe Final Fantasy XVI's exclusivity period was only 6 months. So, I think May 29th is the earliest that we'd hear about a PC version.
@theSpectre I know that the exclusivity would end, but now we have a concrete date
I try to skip the trailers but have failed. That snake from which we can learn the Beta magic looks sick.
The hype is definitely real.
@Savage_Joe There likely won't be a PC version until next year. I expect we'll get a release date for the PC version of Final Fantasy XVI within the next few months. And I still doubt we'll ever see an Xbox version.
My impression and take of the FF7 rebirth trailer is that the game will be similar to FFXIII-2 in some respects. Perhaps it's wrong but I think that FF7 will incorporate the idea of fragmented time into rebirth.
I’m going to be really ticked if Tifa dies.
@Fiendish-Beaver There’s a recap video you can already watch on Youtube (and that’ll be included with Rebirth) to catch up on the story and I’d trust that to also be the case with the next part(s).
My own hype is not through the roof, but I’m still looking forward to playing Rebirth. The remake was one of my favorites of 2020 and after 16 was such a bumpy ride, I’d like to play an overall better Final Fantasy game.
Ideal. Thank you, @Glotny
@Terra_Custodes
Thank you. I didn't know that thing had an official name. The beta spell was amazing in the first half of the original game and I ever liked blue magic in FF.
