Less than one hour into Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League's public availability via the Deluxe Edition, the game has been taken offline because a bug is auto-completing the entire game for select players. The PS5 title is now up for sale in New Zealand, but closing the servers for maintenance means it'll be unplayable for "several hours".
"We’re aware that a number of players are currently experiencing an issue whereby upon logging into the game for the first time, they have full story completion," the game's official Twitter account stated. "To resolve this issue, we will be performing maintenance on the game servers." This renders Suicide Squad unplayable because it requires a connection to the servers. An offline mode will be patched in down the line.
Now, whenever Suicide Squad players boot the game up, they're greeted by an error screen explaining "the servers are currently in maintenance mode". Presumably, those affected will have their game progress reset, but what about the Trophies? Did they auto-pop and the Platinum Trophy has already been unlocked by New Zealand players? These are the more important questions!
Early access roles out for Deluxe Edition owners across the next 24 hours, then the normal release takes place this Friday on 2nd February 2024. Do you think the bug will be fixed in time for everyone else wanting to play the game? Let us know in the comments below.

This game is one big embarrassment after another. Maybe it's a feature for players to avoid playing the game altogether and get straight to the end game and all those sweet microtransactions 🤣🤑🤑🤑
I might buy this one for an easy platinum.
and so it begins 🤣🤣🤣
And people said Spiderman 2 was a short game.
The people who made all the brilliant rocksteady games have set up a new studio so at least we have that to look forward to. Suicide squad looks like a ps plus game if ever i saw one.
Boring, grindy gameplay loop that the majority of players are already fatigued by and not interested in.
hahahhahahahaha man it failed even earlier than we thought
Th ultimate "Deluxe" edition. It completes itself before the game is even out.
Thank goodness they delayed it a year to completely polish it.
Ouch. I'm sure that isn't how they wanted to get out of the gate.
Which game is more embarrassing? This or Palworld?
Suicide Squad: Kill Rocksteady
It's not getting any better for Rocksteady, is it?
I've been attempting to reserve judgement on this one but things like this and the lack of review codes do not bode well at all.
What a great bug! Does it platinum the game for them too? 😂
Oh boy...Well my wife is a huge DC fan, so I still have a copy reserved for her. Here's hoping it ends up okay 😅 I'm still glad they're patching in offline mode after launch.
That Deluxe edition was sure worth the money 😂
The ending is being shared all over the place, so if you do want to play this, then good luck avoiding that.
Of all the things they could have done after the Arkham games and they did this
At least there's one good feature of the early access edition: You don't have to actually play the game to beat it.
I hope this finally teaches people that "early access" is just paying to be a QA tester with zero benefits.
Refund everyone the extra £$€ this "Deluxe Edition" cost them, and apologise for this lame launch. Then other developers might be discouraged in the future from trying this rubbish tactic if a refunding precedent is set now. It's the one thing Rocksteady can do to help gaming as a whole
@Ravix knowing WB they'd market the outage as a feature and charge the early access players £50 a day to play until the release.
@Broosh
"I'm still glad they're patching in offline mode after launch."
I'm not convinced that this will ever happen. They say that in order to get the sale and then, whoops, sorry we are not going to be able to do this now that the early review period has passed.
Sounds like Overwatch 2 PVE mode?
The company is desperate and trying not to go down in flames over this live service game.
Let's see how it all plays out, but I predict there will be massive layoffs at Rocksteady after this game does not meet expectations over at WB.
Too bad.
They were a talented group.
@Max_the_German not my kind of game but I thought Palworld was really popular??
@Max_the_German "Which game is more embarrassing? This or Palworld?"
Seeing as Palworld has a 94% very positive score on Steam and isn't even part of this article yet you brought it up because it bothers you people are having fun on a game you hate I will say this game 🙂
When you're old enough to remember "early access" to offline games were called demo"s which would come on a tape, disk or CD!😁
"Single player games are soo yesterday!" said the AAA publishers...Online multiplayer that's the future, you can make up your own stories together they said!!🙄😂
@Deljo @Tecinthebrain Popular and embarrassing are not exclusive to each other.
@Max_the_German Palworld and embarrassing are not either. You're the first person I've seen call it that.
Just seeing... "sorry, our servers are in maintenance mode" makes me look the other way, sorry but no thank you.
When I bought elder scrolls online awhile back I landed on a serve maintenance day, it wasn't a good start for a new experience, it was the first and definitely the last.
Bruh, how can they keep fing it up???
I think this qualifies as an exception to the "All publicity is good publicity" idea. 😂
Fingers crossed that WB gives up on their live service ambitions after this dumpster fire. I know their CEO said he wants every game to be live service, but if they all end up like this one (and I've a feeling they'll all end up like this one) then he might change his tune.
Imagine paying for early access and having the game not be playable for a chunk of it. It's definitely the publisher's fault for monetising that *****, but at this point it's also the gamers fault for paying the money when you know better.
did they get platinum trophy tho lol
my guess is the game isn't ready for release yet so they sabotaged it in order to get it in a better place for launch day. not that there is much they can do about this disaster anyways...
This is why I stay away from always online games
They had one job avoid a bad launch and they failed smh 🤦
So are people getting a refund for the extra charge they, stupidly, paid for early access?
STOP. GIVING. DEVS. MONEY. BEFORE. A. GAME. COMES. OUT.
I stopped buying games day 1 because I was over all of the bugs and patches and missing features.
I would be shocked if a garbage overlord like wb games doesn't completely gut Rocksteady after this bombs further. Although I get much of their core talent jumped ship when greed directed them into live service shooter territory.
To have such negative discourse pre release, they should have made sure and then made sure again that bugs of this magnitude were squashed before the public got their hands on this turd.
Damn, the game is so intent to the live service portion of the game that it skips the whole story and wants you to just play the end game. No story for you, only looter shooter
