Ah yes, Phil Spencer moaning about PS having good exclusives when his own platform is buying everyone up and making mediocre exclusives.

Does that man ever not double talk?

On one hand it's cool for everyone to have access to everything. On the other hand what's the point of going the extra mile ever?

Competition is good. Capitalism is good.

I'll repeat what I've constantly said and people can call me a fanboy if they want, I don't care, I like and game on multiple platforms and have the receipts to prove it... Exclusives are good, they're what help sell products and the only reason Phil Spencer spouts the stupidity he does about them is because the Xbox brand tanked after Mattrick's idiocy and he was never able to get it back on track. If roles were reversed and Xbox was outselling PlayStation 2:1, there's no way he's saying the same stuff he does now.

I think Sony should allow it on one condition only. That it only releases on the Series X. This would put the cat amongst the pigeons. And sony could say its only serving its lower common denominator which is ps5 specs. Then xbox would have to lump it or leave it.
If they lump it, then other developers will follow suit and we will soon be rid of the parasite xbox series s

It’s interesting how this passive-aggressive approach from Xbox of “we’re releasing some of our exclusives onto PlayStation so we expect a reciprocal gesture” is coming only after the lackluster results of their own first party output. As they not only released Starfield, Redfall, etc as console exclusives, but even going so far as to cancel existing PlayStation builds that were in progress. Now that those games have performed middling, all of a sudden there’s this narrative that Xbox needs to go multiplatform, so naturally PlayStation should too.

I get that Helldivers 2 is a multiplayer game, and so there’s this idea that ‘more players would make it better’ but it does seem a little suspect to make these demands after the big reveal that Xbox are porting over some of their library

Jokes aside, I wouldn't be at all surprised if some (some!) PS exclusives eventually come to Xbox maybe 1-2 years after their PS/PC launches. I'm unsure how that'd work for MP games, though. The hang wringing over this doesn't make sense. Most people who would buy a ps5 just for an exclusive have already bought one, and the percentage of PS owners who even buy exclusives is fairly low. Hence why Sony us worried in the first place. I find the idea of the 10th gen collectively playing all console games kind of exciting, TBH. Especially if BC keeps on being a thing. The consoles are pretty damn similar as it is.

Well it is technically a live service game so It would benefit from having access to as much players as possible. That said I would personally want something bigger in return from Xbox besides those four niche games.

Surely Redfall should have been there equivalent but they messed it up. Sony should release a ctyptic statement saying they will release some PS games on Xbox then just release MLB.

Console wars should be about sales and everyone enjoying games irregardless of system. Xbox took to eliminating that aspect. Now sales are falling for Xbox, quite a blunder keeping hit games exclusive to last generation consoles. Maybe buying all those devs wasn’t such a good idea after all.

Guess Grounded, Halo Infinite, Forza Motorsport, Sea of Thieves, Palworld and other live service games aren't that great or else people on the other side wouldn't port beg for Helldivers 2.

I could understand this a bit more if it wasn’t on the back of MS spending the best part of $80billion simply to lock games out of competing platforms. It just seems super hypocritical. Unless they plan on bringing their exclusive live service games to PS such as Halo Infinite and Forza Motorsport I don’t see why Sony should give them theirs.

Believe me I don’t want to have this bitter fanboyish attitude but it’s just getting frustrating now to watch the direction MS are going. For the last decade it seems that Xbox’s entire business strategy has been centred around piggybacking on other people’s hard work and talent while bringing very little to the table themselves.

I’m glad HD2 is doing so good and I’m happy that the studio is getting the recognition it deserves for putting out an incredible fun game.. but I hope we can solve this server issue and infinite quick play search for game..
Would using different server providers help? Like Amazon servers? I don’t know how true it is but I’m assuming these are Microsoft Azure servers, would buying more servers help the game or maybe using different ones?

Also I don’t care if Xbox gamers get to play this game as long as the servers are doing right. I have friends I would like to play this game who just own Xbox. People are getting tired of battle royale type of play with friends. And this is a nice change for once.

I have pc, ps5 and series x and if I wanted to play this sort of game, I'd get it on ps5 to avoid the pc anticheat going on my pc.

I wouldn't sign a petition which I know wouldn't get anywhere but increase the salt on the console salt seasaw of life. I just can't see the point, lol.

Helldivers 1 was never released on Xbox and was almost entirely a PlayStation game. Sony published and funded Helldivers 2.

Why should it be on Xbox?

This isn't like Doom or Fallout, which are/were multiplatform titles. This isn't "console wars". Buying up two large publishers and making their IP exclusive is console wars.

Oddworld Soulstorm
Death stranding (I think unless it’s just PC)
No man’s sky
I do think that they’ll get more PS games on Xbox though if PS is getting some Xbox games, I doubt they’ll put PlayStation Studios games on the Xbox though

Xbox fans aren't petitioning for Microsoft to deliver good games but to have the competition bring their games to Xbox. Just shows the state of the Xbox fanbase and where their priorities lie.

And all of this come after Microsoft spending an enormous amount of money to get Elder Scrolls or Call of Duty Xbox's exclusive. Their level of hypocrisy is astonishing.

I have excellent news for Xbox fans regarding Helldivers 2. Xbox fans can play Helldivers 2 today, yes that's right you didn't hear me wrong. Go online or down to your local game store and pickup Helldivers 2 with a PS5. Sony isn't stopping you from playing Playstation games, only you are.

I'm not exactly sure who it helps in the industry by not being on Playstation, Indiana Jones, Starfield, Ori etc.

@Dragoon1994 Those were just timed exclusives apart from Death Stranding but Sony sold the publishing rights of death stranding 1 to 505 games so they could assess how well a game does on PC without too much fuss from the fanbase.

That Kena rumour seems to have just been a rumour. Nothing was ever confirmed from ember labs but even so it was only ever timed anyway but it has been 3 years already.

I still can't believe how big this game got all of a sudden. Leading into launch the buzz felt borderline nonexistent and then next thing you know the servers are melting and Xbox fans are partitioning for it on their platform. I definitely didn't see it coming for sure.

Anyway I don't see it happening anytime soon. For one they are still working on stabilizing the servers and adding more players is not going to help with that situation. And two, Playstation seems perfectly happy with the current setup of keeping their exclusives only on Playstation or PC. The idea of "We will give you game A so you can give us game B" just isn't how it works.

It's all rubbish really. In supporting the argument, yes any live service game does better if available to all. As to the point, who does it benefit? Sony. It benefits Sony as they are still working in the exclusivity world and its a strategic direction that MS have only just piveted.

Was a whole different story when Microsoft made PUBG a timed exclusive to xbox. The only people that helped was Fortnite allowed them to suck up playstation players who couldnt play PUBG and now look at the two games fortunes.

@Savage_Joe not really. Releasing on xbix series s, you have to get to it running and at a decent performance. To do this, you have to conpromise the game/vision. Steam Deck owners have to lower settings as much as possible to get it to run and with advances in pc gaming which steam was primarily targeted for, the steam deck will soon be outdated and not run more modern games. Thats the risk you run with an open system as opposed to closed console systems. Companies are not releasing games for steam deck, they are releasing for steam. Hope that makes sense in what I am saying

I mean people act like this games success is from the Playstation 5 console... Nah the reason this game is so big is because of the PC market, we were sorely missing this type of game so when it launched we embraced it, same with Palworld sure it's on Xbox but it's successful because of PC, and Helldivers 2 is the same, exclusivity is just dumb these days with games costing so much and so many requiring lots of players for multiplayer we need to bring them to other platforms, with Sony recently talking about bringing their games to other platforms I guess they have finally realised that locking a game to a single platform isn't getting the most money and with how much games cost they need as much money as possible

We just have to hope the Devs keep up with constant content or most of us on PC will end up moving on within a month when the next big thing drops

I see it this way Helldivers 2 should be Xbox because it's got some years for it if it keeps doing what it's doing, and with Microsoft having some of the best servers out their and you can't deny they don't. I reckon they would help ArrowHead with the capacity issue and work with everyone to keep it going and be more stable and not just for Xbox and PC because they could work with Sony as well.

It's a fantastic game one that would boost players and the game in general, the industry does need to grow and cross play isn't were it should be especially for live service games like HD2.

If Helldivers 2 came to the Xbox console they will quickly make another petition for it to be on Gamepass, there's no pleasing some.

If MS agreed to invest deeply in server infrastructure for Helldivers then maybe it'd be worth it. In the meantime though I'm buying a ps5 to play it.

Helldivers will eventually go the Xbox, but not as a good will gesture on the part of Sony, or because the Xbox community is asking for it. The game will go to the Xbox when it needs an influx of new players to keep it going, and not before...

Jesus it's hard enough to even get a game of helldivers going at the moment. I just keep getting "servers at capacity" all the time. Back to granblue and diablo 4 until they actually get the damn thing working again. Been a while since I laughed so much whilst being murdered by giant bugs.

@Gamer83 Wasn't just mattrick, Spencer and co continued the same exact practices. They just aren't stupid enough to cause a nightmare like Mattrick did at e3. The xbox consoles require internet far far more often just for basic checks, licenses etc than playstation ever does. I could be offline for months on ps5 and not have any issues outside of no multiplayer. on xbox I couldn't even play a game if I don't check in with my probation officer.

The solution is simple yet pretty costly. If you are a Xbox fan, don’t get the next xbox, get a pc and save money on game keys from platforms like Humble Bundle, GG, and others, as opposed to purchasing from first-party marketplaces, can contribute significantly towards offsetting the initial investment in a higher-priced PC.

@thefourfoldroot1 doubtful I know I wouldn't be! It takes what? A decade or decade and a half for BEST to release 1 game ? Starfield look how long that took look at how many editions of skyrim we got before Starfield? Skyrim launched in the ps3 Era and all through ps4 and the begging of ps5 Era all we got was skyrim special edition/ skyrim deluxe/skyrim vr/skyrim super ultra mega k.o Ken times 10 edition. It was the pc mod community who truly made the game great and even fixed the bugs that was in it in all of those editions later that the studio wouldn't be botherd with.

@Sifi That isn't what they said, they said no first party SEQUELS they said nothing about new IPs. Concord is scheduled to come out this year( may or may not happen) this is from Firestudieos which is first party.

It's a live service game. It would make all sense for them to bring them to more broad audience and money in. Better for Devs or worse, because servers issues but also because it would bring cash flow for the future dlcs. I hope Sony will buy arrowhead before they sell out themselves to epic and they will ruin it to the ground like every other game they did that isn't Fortnite.

I’d love to see Helldivers on XBox, but there’s no way it’s going to happen. Nintendo and Sony both know that guarding and milking your exclusives is the way to sell consoles, and Microsoft just doesn’t have enough great first party IP (until Blizzard) to leverage that effectively - Halo is great but it’s not enough to carry the platform. Phil said years ago that Microsoft’s gaming future was cloud and subscription model, which means they don’t have to worry about selling consoles like Nintendo and Sony do, they just need to sell as many subscriptions as possible. I think with the Blizzard acquisition they’re on the right track, now they just need people outside their traditional console base to sign up for GamePass and getting some solid games on PlayStation and Switch are a grey way to start. Sea of Thieves is much better today than it was 6 years ago. Fantastic game!

If they want Helldivers 2, then make Microsoft give us Hellblade 2. Seems fair to me.

@__jamiie it has not affected first party games although I think it probably has also kept cross gen development going and that's because it has forced most third party developers to have to develop for a machine that specs wise is last gen.
This has caused an underwhelming feeling this generation. Dont get me wrong, there is some great games out there and I really enjoy playing current and back catalogs of games. But you have to admit that nothing has screamed next generation because we are having the same experience as ps4. So indont want to encourage xbox to make another disjointed next generation with a lesser machine being released.

Sell your Xbox because it's a dying console and get a PS5. Microsoft would have no choice but to make a deal with Sony to create games and then everyone is happy.
Everyone gets to play helldivers 2
And everyone gets to play elder scrolls 6 when that comes out.

I don’t know why they didn’t to begin with. If you’re going to release the game on pc the same day as the console version then it’s not really an exclusive at that point. Console exclusives are already becoming less and less important as the console tech is virtually identical between machines these days, so really what’s the point.

Just trade in your mini fridge & buy a PS5, job done.

Exclusives on any platform are stupid, you’re literally reducing the amount of money you make, release the game on certain platforms to begin with, but after a while share it with the other platforms.

I 100% disagree. I've seen no one that has a PS5 worship Ryan as they do Spencer. I've seen no mention of Ryan to be honest.

That being said, if this game wasn't as fun to play as it apparently is, alongside hype, it would be getting crucified for the unfixed server and basic online game functionality problems.

It seems like this should have been an all-hands-on deck, Sony jumping in to help type situation as soon as it was apparent there was a problem (DAY 1!).

At this point, pathetic console war rhetoric aside, this game couldn't even accommodate another player base right now. Frankly, who knows how long the infrastructure needed to be put into place to merely allow the base it current has to actually play freely will occur.

At this point a people have paid for a product they cannot consistently use when convenient for them.

Why should a game that took so long to finance and get to where it is today..... now suddenly be ruined by series s and the time it eill take to get it on there (going by the massive and constant delays Starfield and Forza 8 suffered and just about every other 2019/2020 Xbox announced games, most of which still have no release dates)???

Why should the developer that got massively expanded by Sony, be told tomorrow, "start downgrading everything you have done with this game so it can run, to Phil's not compromised vision, on series s".

Nope, it isn't happening. Just like Remake will never come to Xbone (last gen's Xbox lowest denominator) and Rebirth will never come to series s (this gen's Xbox lowest denominator).

@andrewsqual its funny because my rog ally handheld can run ff7 remake intergrade just fine.. does that mean its more powerful than an xbone? No doubt itll be able to run rebirth as well because most current gen pc are stronger than a ps5.
