Survios, the team behind PSVR games CREED: Rise to Glory, Sprint Vector, and The Walking Dead Onslaught, has today revealed it's working on a new PSVR2 game set in the Alien universe called Alien: Rogue Incursion. It is described as an "intense single-player, action horror game", set to release for Sony's VR headset later this year alongside Meta Quest 3 and Steam VR versions.
Any other details are light on the ground, but here's the official description: "This brand-new single-player, action-horror VR game features an original story that fully surrounds players within the terrors of the Alien universe. Designed by Alien fans for Alien fans, Survios brings their expertise to crafting this technically advanced, and frightfully immersive Alien virtual reality game." It's being created in Unreal Engine 5 in collaboration with publisher 20th Century Games.

might suck, but the potential is there for something cool
Survios is one of my favorite VR game creators. Battlewake for PSVR is fantastic, and if there were a bigger pool of VR users, the online mode to that game would be huge. And then there’s the Creed game for VR and The Walking Dead Onslaught game. These guys and gals at Survios are good! I think this Aliens game is gonna be good…can’t wait to see more!!
Why for VR only? I'm waiting for singleplayer fps Alien game since PS3 AvP.
Was really excited for some gameplay to be finally revealed, its been two years since they announced. I love the idea of this in VR, but until they actually show me it, I'm still on the fence.
Great. I’m excited for this game. I have butterflies in my tummy I’m so excited. Wait, what’s that moving in my tummy. Aaarraggghh!!!
@djlard that was one of the few games that scared the biscuits out of me, couldn't play it 😂
I don't want to buy a PSVR2 (or any vr) Mr. Stark!!!
but Alien calls.
Not really a fan of Survivos, played Raw Data on PSVR1 and questioned my sanity for playing through it.
@djlard that game was fantastic. Id love some more AvP
Also as a huge alien fan, I'm way too much of a chicken for this.
This is not Alien Isolation 2 (grumble)
Was really excited until I heard it will be on quest 2 as well.I know exclusives are rubbish but to get it running on the quest the scope of the game will be small
Happy that it's on quest 3, but they shouldn't even bother with a trailer like this.
'By Aliens fans for Aliens fans' has me hopeful. Alien Isolation and Aliens Dark Descent were fantastic for this reason among others.
@ROTTIEMAN16 Asgards Wrath 2 proves that scope shouldn't be an issue. I just hope the Quest 3, Steam VR and PSVR 2 have the best possible visuals based on their specs.
@djlard In a perfect world ID software would make that game!
I’m goin to Paris. Call it a rouge excursion
Sign me up. Push square is telling me to write more so, uh, definitely sign me up!
@djlard Get a PSVR 2?
@Trousersnake Why? Because of one game, that may or may not be good? BTW all this virtual gadgets are dead end as same as 3D TVs. Soon will be spatial picture on any TV.
@djlard You clearly don't know anything about VR, spatial picture on tv, lol. That's really nice and all but won't immerse you completely in a 360° virtual environment. You still need a headset for that for a long time to come.VR ain't going nowhere and will continue to grow, slowly but surely.
@Trousersnake We have technology for spatial movies, games comes soon. No special TVs or any other gadgets. Yes, it is not 360 degrees experience, but it can be enjoyed by anyone sitting on sofa, without need of additional space or movement.
I picked up a Quest 3 a few days ago and while i'm impressed by it overall, Quest 3 is awful to wear right out of the box, even worse than PSVR 2. Very front heavy. I had to buy a comfort strap to make it nicer, just like i did for PSVR 2. With getting the Globular Cluster strap for VR2 it made a world of a difference both in comfort and keeping the sweetspot, which became suddenly a non-issue for me. I never experienced any discomfort to my nose that you describe, and it overall does a better job in blocking all light than Quest 3 does in my humble opinion. The headset's bulkiness might look a bit dated, i agree but just like the rings on the controllers it's basically just an aesthetic thing that rarely interferes with any gameplay so mentioning it just because it's different to the smaller Quest 3 is pointless to me. PSVR 2's controllers outclass Quest 3's on every aspect i think.
The mura effect of the PSVR 2 is a bit more visible than on Quest 3, granted, but not half as much as some people claim it to be. In return you get great black levels(which i prefer as a horror games fan) and more vibrant colours thanks to the HDR which Quest 3 simply can't achieve. Pick your poison.
Quest 3's battery life is very dissapointing i think. I can play Asgard's Wrath 2(which is bloody amazing btw😃) not even up to two hours or it's completely empty and needs to charge. Keeping the loading cable plugged in extends the playtime a little(or so i'm told)but the battery drains faster than it loads, which is a huge problem. The headset is already heavy enough as it is and i don't like the idea of having to add an extra battery pack to the back, but it seems like the only option really.
In a way both headsets do seem to complement each other though. I'm happy i got a Quest 3 so i can play the exclusives, check out the MR stuff and use the VR browser all through a great interface, but the store is also cluttered with a lot of garbage and semi-useless apps. When a game is releasing on both systems i'll always go for the PSVR 2 version though
Very good.. Now the question I think all of us are wanting to ask...
...
Will it work on our Nintendo Virtual Boy headsets?? ;p
