Helldiver's 2's latest, most relentless campaign continues as "Operation Swift Disassembly" develops. This time, the mission objective is nothing less than the complete eradication of the Automatons for good. And while the war is still far from over, lovers of liberty can sleep soundly tonight, comforted by the joyous news that Malevelon Creek is finally free of the machine menace.
Helldivers High Command (developer Arrowhead Game Studios) announced in recent hours that, effective immediately, combat operations on the Creek have ended, with Super Earth and its allies claiming a total victory. A spokesperson for the government decreed that April 1st will be remembered as a day of victory and remembrance, recalling:
"Several weeks ago, our citizens watched in horror as Malevelon Creek fell to the Automatons. Millions of valiant heroes perished attempting to defend it. For too long, the bots have maintained their illegal occupation, desecrating the memory of the fallen by rapidly depleting the planet's exceptionally rich rhodium deposits. The travesty will be allowed to continue no longer."
While Malevelon Creek was not initially a strategic objective of Swift Disassembly, a Major Order was introduced overnight to retake the infamous site of Super Earth's severe first setback. Fuelled by patriotic fervour and the promise of more Medals, the world was overrun in six hours, with the valuable resources again secured.
Did you participate in the reclamation of Malvelon Creek? Has the insult to Super Earth been entirely expunged? Let us know in the comments section below.

I mean... Let's be clear - Malevelon Creek was made an objective because there was regularly thousands upon thousands of players on the planet that wouldn't leave to fight on any of the other objectives. The easiest way for the devs to get those players to move on was making the liberation of the planet an objective, because now that the planet has been liberated, they have to move on!
Consolation prize for failing to liberate Tibit. We had too many people still on the bugs instead of trying to complete the Automaton major order sadly.
Played a few rounds at the weekend in between my rather large dd2 sessions and snagged 80 medals..loving this game but finding it hard to dedicate time to it with dd2 on the go.
Would love to play, when they remove the drm
@Deityjester I don't get how that matters when it's always online? Really, not coming at you or anything. The game will disappear someday anyway.
I did my bit, shame to have lost Tibit but this softens the blow. I get that people prefer the bugs but the bots are awesome when you are coordinated with the rights strats etc.
@LikelySatan I don't care about the game being always online i care about my pc, gameguard doesn't uninstall when you uninstall the game (something a dev claimed otherwise) and it runs on start-up of windows something EAC doesn't do.
If you look at the games that use gameguard most are Chinese or korean games that nobody outside of those countries knows about with exception of phantasy star online and it causes performance loss, there was no reason for arrowhead to use this garbage over EAC which is tried and true/runs only when playing a game with it.
@Deityjester okay, I appreciate that. It's a blind spot for sure because I just don't play online games.
@Mortal
Exactly this.
Too bad we failed to protect Tibit due to Helldivers High Command negligence, disabling our ability to drop to the planet.
@-Sigma- @Mostik I (and I assume many others) couldn't drop to Tibit due to a game bug. Never was available for me for the entire time the major order was available.
@wildcat_kickz It wasn't a bug, certain planets open a path to others, in this case we needed to take ubanea to get to tibit however, we lost draupnir partway through which closed off ubanea before it was liberated (it was at 93% when I checked it), therefore we needed to quickly retake draupnir to get back on the path.
@Yozora146_ Ah, gotcha. I didn't realize that space travel was inhibited by a specific planet's communist robots. I'll need to spread freedom more vigorously in the future!
@wildcat_kickz Yeah, I only wish the map showed you which planets unlock others would help a bit to see the patch so that I don't waste time on irrelevant planets you know, for democracy!!!
