Despite Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown releasing just a few months ago, there's apparently another spinoff Prince of Persia title currently in development, and it's heading to early access through Steam later this year. According to Insider Gaming, this next game is a roguelite adventure, suitably titled 'The Rogue Prince of Persia' — which we think is a rather clever name.
Perhaps the most intriguing part of this report, though, is that the game is supposedly being crafted by Evil Empire — the studio that took over the development of Dead Cells post-release. Apparently, this Prince of Persia project has been in the oven for around four years — presumably while the developer was busy providing so many updates for Dead Cells.
In any case, if all of this is accurate, then it shouldn't be long until we hear about The Rogue Prince of Persia in an official capacity.

If it’s as good as the Lost Crown, I’m all for it.
I do find it funny how a certain subsection of gamers were moaning about that Prince of Persia when it was revealed and now it’s pretty much universally praised as a great game.
Dead Cells, along with Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice and Sifu, falls into that rare basket of games I absolutely love, but am absolutely not nearly good enough to beat lol Stoked to see what they do next!
@nessisonett X-men 1997 had the same.
@nessisonett Yeah its terrible is someone does not 100% like what you like. In the end the biggest complaint was the terrible music choice of the trailer a thing i still completely agree with to this day.

Would've guessed they're working on a Castlevania. But, hey if this works out see how they go with Rayman, maybe? Please??
Thank you gaming gods I love The Lost Crown so much I couldn’t put the controller down until I beat it I logged in over 80 hours in that game I need more Perisa
@Flaming_Kaiser there were plenty of racist posts, so let's not pretend it was a non-issue
@pirlega
From the glazed wall reliefs in the ancient city of Susa. The Persian Empire was vast and soldiers encompassed varying skin tones.

Ah, it seems I'm gonna be the black sheep up in here : )
Just like 10 years ago every game had to have a mobile version, now every game has to have a roguelike/lite one...
Instead of Ubisoft making a proper AAA game to relaunch the franchise, they made a spinoff...
And now another studio is making a rogue spinoff... of said spinoff...
I'm as excited for this as I am for Bloodborne Kart or Bloodborne Demake (they may be fan made, but they received about the same level of hype from the players and media... which I don't share in equal measure).
Heck yeah. I love dead cells and i love rogue likes. Hyped for this
I could get behind this.
@Flaming_Kaiser I don't think the comment was aimed at those who disliked the music, but you already knew that.
@pirlega If you think it's worth your time and energy to type out a comment complaining about the skin color and ethnicity of a video game character within an otherwise critically acclaimed game, you should probably find other things to complain about.
Then again I'm wasting time replying to you, so I'm admittedly not much better. I guess we should all worry about actually important things rather than bitch about pixels on a screen. Good day.
@naruball Not here i stand corrected then. I liked the gameplay hated the music.
I love Prince of Persia. I wish they would remaster or remake the rebooted 2008 Prince of Persia and the originals. I have got The Lost Crown but haven't started it yet. Also love Roguelite's so definitely keeping an eye out for this game.

@pirlega Propaganda has intent. Please enlighten us as to the intent of this game making Sargon Black, considering there are proven Black soldiers in the historical Persian army.
@Zenos you know what's worse? Ignorance and people being confident they know everything on a topic, when they clearly don't.
@naruball you mean like how @nessisonett posts already disproven cherrypicked nonsense at the level of we was kingz n shiet?
